This is an insane jump, far better than even Quest 1 vs Quest 2
tell me you never played VR on PC without telling me you've never played VR on PC
@@youtou252 That's not even a part of the conversation. No shit a $1k+ PC will run the game better. The point is that this is an incredible jump in fidelity for a wireless standalone headset
@@youtou252 never apart of this comment or this video. you just want to crap on standalone headsets to make your expensive pc purchase seem better than it actually is
@@C00II well no PCs are legitimately incredible. that guy is just a dick.
bruh that had nth to do with the post@@youtou252
The atmosphere is what really makes these games alive. Im gonna have to replay these games again to get that new sense of realism.
yes, what is also important is the look of the zombies and NPCs, in quest 2 the zombies look really bad while in quest 3 it is much closer to the PCVR version.
I bought the quest 3 recently but it’s not showing me these visuals on the game
I just got TWD on my Quest 3. These comparisons are a liiittle deceiving because they fail to mention that we'll need to wait for a Quest 3 specific update to the game before we start to see this kind of improvement. Straight out the box it doesn't look like this.
This looks amazing! I’m definitely playing the first game again! This is part of the reason I preordered the quest three!
Only to learn the game hasn't been upgraded at all :(
@@mustardsouls1005It has already been confirmed that it will be updated by the end of the year, besides we don't know if they will update just part 1 or also part 2, besides the game is huge so it's ok to take a while.
I havent beat the second game yet hopefully they update that as well
Now imagine what games will look like in 3-4 years.
great seeing this comparison :D quest 3 is such an upgrade!
Just a quick note, the graphics overhaul is not out yet (For mainly chapter 1, I don’t know about retribution)
so it seems that on the quest3 it almost looks like the current pcvr version, right? a comparison of the quest3 version vs the pcvr version would be interesting now to see the details. but it looks very amazing. looking forward to the quest 3
It actually is pretty damn close to the PCVR version running on mostly medium (w/ a few low) settings, and actually WELL outstrips the OG PSVR/PS4 build!
When is it on retribution?
So where is the promised graphics update for quest 3 ??
It hasn't been updated yet. Where's the neat textures at for the quest 3???
Just wait developer still working at the update
Awesome
遂にQuest 3アップグレード来る予定!楽しみ。
looks so much better then quest 2, i play pcvr an quest 2 for this game but i mainly feels nicer to look at, this looks almost just like the pcvr, i like the pcvr walker esigns they use for this quest 3, all aroun much better
I don't necessarily care to get the meta quest 3 but I will say this, it sure has nice graphics
Is this both without a pc
Obviously
I didn’t think there was going to be THAT much zombies… I’m getting it
Nothing !!!!! I got the Q3 and WD is not optimized yet !!!!! Shit …
Would've been nice to include side comparison with Quest Pro and PCVR.
Quest pro uses quest 2 graphics
I may be a pcvr user, but for the quest this looks like a major improvement.
PCVR's fucking dead and has absolutely ZERO future outside of in flight sims & sim-racing. 🤷 (And I say this is HUUUUUGE PC gaming nut who plays PCVR all the time). I'd take this as the best opportunity you'll get to get onto a VR platform that isn't dying a slow and painful death the way SteamVR has been with absolutely no end in sight.
There's a reason Meta's big in-house funded exclusives like Asgard's Wrath II and Assassin's Creed Nexus aren't coming to PC, but rather are Quest ONLY! (Despite the OG Asgard's Wrath being a PCVR exclusive.)
@@Cooe. Well I just want the best visuals for my games. Its not like I am shunning the quest in anyway. Before my computer which was in 2020, the original quest and quest 2 were the main reasons that I care so much about vr today. I think that its great as both a pcvr and a standalone device. But I just want my games to be all in one place instead of buying games on another platform.
@@Cooe.I agree there is nothing to play
@@friendlycanadianYT Then you'll want to get a Quest 3. 🤷 Them's just the brakes. It'll give you BY FAR the closest to "PCVR class" visuals with all of the latest major titles, whether or not they come to PCVR (bc let's be real, most won't) without having to tie you down with a stupid immersion killing cable. We've FINALLY reached a point where we have last generation console OR BETTER performance available in standalone headsets.
(I.e. The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners native Quest 3 build is basically just straight up the PCVR build on a mix of Med/Low settings [& kicks the ever-living SHIT outta the OG PSVR1/PS4 build!], helping show what's possible on the new hardware when dev's actually give a shit. 🤷
Quest 3's new XR2 Gen 2's got closer to PS4 Pro than base PS4 levels of raw GPU firepower [≈3.4 vs ≈4.2/≈1.84 TFLOPS] & with the same 8GB of total RAM, but with a MUUUUUCH faster CPU than either!)
@@Cooe. Well I'm not looking to upgrade. I know that you are clearly excited for the quest 3, but I don't want to upgrade my quest yet. I'm fine with it right now.
This is misleading. While I'm sure the video on the left was recorded on a Quest 2, TWD:SS is a Quest 1 game (still supported on Quest 1). So it's really more of a Quest 1 vs Quest 3 comparison. Let's see a video of TWD:SS 2 instead.
Well the game was updated for Quest 2 even though the difference wasn’t huge. Also TWD:SS 2 I don’t think was confirmed to be updated for Quest 3 and looks worse than the first game so It would be even more in favor of Quest 3.
check the Red Matter 2 graphical updates
This legitimately looks even notably better than the PS4/PSVR1 release in terms of raw graphics settings (and rendered at a MUCH higher resolution & framerate vs PSVR1 to boot!). Everything I'm seeing suggests that Quest 3 & Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 is going to bring proper last-gen console level performance and capabilities to standalone VR which is an absolutely GARGANTUAN leap forward.
Unlike prior Quests which still had a definite "mobile graphics" look to things, even in the best looking titles, the Quest 3's proper PS4 level visuals should be "more than good enough" for LOOOOOOOOOOADS of people and types of games!
How is the hype train going ? Derailed already? Where is the update that would put Quest 3 ahead ofPSVR1? S&S Quest3 sadly looks exactly like Quest 2, which is essentiely the Quest 1 graphics at high res. I dont know aboutyou but for me Quest 3 has been under delivering alot, which is a shame cause it has potential to make the gap to PC/PSVR2 a lotshorter but so far thats not the case. Its not even on par with PSVR1.
Damn I really wanted this game on how realistic it looked but nvm I don’t got enough money
Hopefully this means we'll get more powerful ports like half life alyx
It’s coming to the quest 3 this year
Look meta quest 3 going be in payday 3 vr in 2024
Yea it's a huge jump but it's not at pcvr level yet
Its cool but ill wait for quest 4 to upgrade. If theyre coming out with a new headset every 3 years i wanna get my moneys worth out of the ones i buy
Yup, that's the rough timetable. And hell, we even know Meta Reality Lab's (the successor to Oculus) basic hardware roadmap for those next 3 years already. 🤷
We're getting "Quest 3 Lite" late next year to replace the Quest 2 at ≈$300 (think a Quest 2 but just w/ the Quest 3's new chip [slightly downclocked to match its lower res single-panel display vs the full-fat dual-panel Q3], but few other major core changes outside the expected new physical design/look. And maybe also a ≈$200-$250 version that comes without controllers), then Quest Pro 2 (or whatever it actually gets called) that's supposedly being co-designed w/ LG in late 2025 to compete 1:1 w/ Apple's Vision Pro products, and then finally Quest 4 in late 2026 which will almost surely FINALLY add in the eye & face trackers from the Quest Pro range into the mainstream headset lineup. 🤷
Quest 3 is DEFINITELY still a full generational upgrade over Quest 2 though. 🤷 Mobile hardware moves a LOT faster than wall powered hardware, meaning a ≈3 year gap for the former is more like a ≈6 year gap for the latter in terms of raw performance/capabilities. The Quest 3 has almost but not quite ≈3x the peak GPU horsepower vs Quest 2 (≈3.4 TFLOPs vs ≈1.3TFLOPs) while the PS5 has around ≈5x the peak GPU power of the PS4 (≈10.3 vs ≈1.84 TFLOPS) despite the latter coming out a full 7 years after the prior generation vs just 3 years for the former.
@@Cooe. I can't wait with how much VR is evolving to see what comes. I also have the psvr2 (along with quest 2) now and I love it, but I'm irritated with the lack of support. It feels like they've just given up on it
@@thekingofcool1641 I could tell Sony didn't give a flying freaking shit about PSVR2 the very second they announced it with last-gen as HELL Fresnel lenses (& thus AWFUL clarity & distortion, plus a ≈+2x as big form factor), straight off-the-shelf "PenTile" (aka, just 2x subpixels per pixel vs the normal 3x/"RGB stripe") OLED panels from Samsung (just like literally almost every phone/tablet around uses; compared to the custom designed RGB stripe OLED that Sony paid to get made for PSVR1), and finally ZERO ability to wireless tether. 🤷
If Sony had ACTUALLY CARED about VR gaming long-term they wouldn't have just lazily phoned in their headset's hardware design SOOOOOO FUCKING HARD!!!! Instead, it really seems like PSVR2 was just too damn far along in development to simply just cancel it entirely as Sony really seems to have wanted to, so they just shoved it out the door with the least effort possible. 🤷
@@Cooe. Do you even own a PSVR2? Seems like you're a meta-stan.
@@swedishjustdancer7236 Don't own, but used plenty. (At least a few hours in a variety of content). And nah, I've liked headsets from loads of companies, including PSVR1. PSVR2's hardware design was just lazy as fucking shit. 🤷 And they wasted WAAAAAAY too much money adding in eye-tracking. The important stuff was ignored and extraneous stuff spent $100's on. (Adding eye-tracking to a headset is about a ≈+$200 increase to headset cost, meaning PSVR2 is really a $300 headset w/ eye-tracking, which explains a LOT!)
That's a pretty big difference. Like PS2 to PS3 kind of leap
It doesn't look bad, but in headset, quest 2 is immersive enough for the price, im gonna wait a while before i upgrade, the several hundred jump isnt worth a little graphics jump and a bunch of gimmicky shit they implemented from quest pro to me, ill have to wait for some updates or at least a 50$ price decrease
If this is a "little graphics jump", then you sir are absolutely fucking blind... 🤦😑 Quest 3 straight up bitchslaps a base PS4 in terms of raw performance, let ALONE the Quest 2! The XR2 Gen 2 GPU ALONE is about ≈+2.5x faster than Quest 2's XR2 Gen 1 according to Qualcomm themselves.
And you are COMPLETELY WRONG about the visual difference being "less visible in-headset"! That would only be true if Quest 3 used the same lower resolution single panel display and blurry ass Fresnel lenses as Quest 2. In ACTUALITY the visual difference in-headset will be even MORE EXTREME THAN THIS thanks to Quest 3's higher resolution & now dual panel displays, wider FOV, AND crystal clear edge-to-edge pancake lenses.
i had to look at this video to see the difference cuz im afraid i got scammed with my quest 3
It's like no one paid the zombies to show up on the Quest 2. 😂
I hopped in and tried to see what it would look like on the quest 3 and it still had the quest 2 graphics. I was very disappointed
That's a lie, it only changes the resolution, that's MQ2 or PCVR.
Looks alot better on quest 3
So you have to like, activate or download the Quest 3 graphic update or is it done manually? Because the game for me looks like utter shit! Yes I play on the Quest 3..
Looks great!
Very nice, I guess it is very similar to the original PSVR1 version
It's actually slightly better than the OG PSVR/PS4 version in terms of graphics settings, AND while running at much, MUCH higher resolution & framerate! (Vs the PSVR1's 1080p/60fps [which was then interpolated up to "120Hz"].)
@@Cooe. But not as good as the PSVR2 version.
Meta quest 3 graphic look like actual PC IM THINKING PAYDAY 3 vr come meta quest 3
It's still weaker than the PS4 Pro, but definitely on par with the base PS4.
Quest 2 is significantly more powerful than a base PS4 actually (not quite PS4 Pro level in terms of GPU grunt, but not that far off either). Think base PS4/PSVR1 level visuals but running at a MUCH higher resolution and framerate. (PSVR1 was 1080p/60fps interpolated up to "120fps", whereas Quest 3 is like >≈2K/90-120fps).
The gpu in ps4 pro is better, but the cpu is actually faster for Quest 3, along with faster RAM
@@robarmstrong5404 Quest 3 has SLOWER RAM than PS4 Pro, not faster. It'll most likely have like ≈90-100GB/s of memory bandwidth vs ≈218GB/s on PS4 Pro (or ≈176GB/s on the base PS4). That said, Quest 3's RAM WILL have much lower latency than the PS4 Pro's bc DDR vs GDDR! (With Q3 likely being like ≈3-5x better on the latency front.)
Am i supposed to say the one on the right looks better? Cause it doesnt. Fog adds a lot to the immersion. Quest 3 looks too clean.
I don't think you have any idea what your talking about
I’d agree with u in some cases but the added detail and lighting makes up for slightly less fog. Sometimes less fog is better for gameplay too, look at cod zombies transit
Lol, extreme fog is almost ALWAYS a developer crutch to reduce view distance and LOD load, NOT an intentional visual design choice. Outside of a handful of very specific examples like Silent Hill where the fog is arguably THE core component to the game's visual aesthetics saying heavy fog "adds to immersion" makes you sound fucking cluelessly drunk as hell. 🤷
FAKE
RE 4 on Quest 2 still looks better than this game on Quest 3
Lol, no it definitely fucking does not. And I LOVE RE4: VR.
it just looks like the removed fog and desaturated their textures
The lighting is far better and the walls have more geometry. More AI onscreen and more LOD throughout + higher framerate
Your name is fitting lol. Almost had me there. 😉
