one of the best part about your videos is that you're actually good at tennis so you can properly demonstrate the things you say. separates this channel from the others
I wouldn't say other tennis video makers aren't good at tennis, they're probably still in the top 1% of players if not better. But Karue might be the highest level player our there making teaching videos which is definitely awesome!
I think there's an aesthetic quality as well. His court drip e.g. colour coordination, fitting clothes, gives him a clean look on court. Plus he looks fit and has great posture.
There’s other channels where the coach is actually good at tennis too, but there also a lot of channels where the coaches are just amateur players (same as most of us watching their videos) coaching as if they are a high level pro
What a time to be alive... Online tennis instruction is the future of tennis coaching as you can learn sooo much from amazing coaches all around the world from the comfort of anywhere really. So much of this information would be unattainable like 10 years ago unless you buy expensive tennis coaching.
Great advice. I always have an issue with spacing and timing on my forehand. And the catch and hit is great when you don't have a hitting partner too! (ie. hitting against a wall, ball on a string)
Excellent instruction per usual. I agree 1000% regarding the importance of the non-dominant arm. Thanks so much for your willingness to share game-changing content!
Hi Karue, How do players deal with this on the backhand? Specifically, how do single-handed backhand players replace the role of the non-dominant hand? Thanks for the top quality content as always! The best in the game!
Good advice Karue, I had to switch arms after an accident and getting my non-dominant arm in the swing has been an issue. Been working to strengthen it so it's not so prone to drop.
Hey Karue. Love the video! Timing is so important in tennis. To catch a ball with your hand there is actually loads of footwork involved in order to be in the right spot at the right time. Any drills to improve footwork / timing?
Great video!! Thanks for sharing. That's exactly what I was looking for, and one of my big mistakes: 1. Not at the right distance (hard to calculate, and left arm gives a guidance) 2. My left arm is bend and too much rotated so I am hitting the ball late and my upper body leans back as you showed, 3. My left arm stays down, and many of my balls go to the net or sometimes too high as I am forcing it without control. Excellent explanations!! Thanks!!
Hey, I just wanted to say that I'm coming back to tennis after a long layoff, and your tips have really helped - they've totally cut through all of the overly complicated advice on the internet and even from coaches. Thanks!
Karue, this was awesome. Congrats all the way from Brazil. Tennis is really complicated to players who have played for just a few years. This was really good and simple to underatand and visualize.
Amazing lesson! I'm new and realized my nondominant arm was falling flat and limp after the hit. Something so small can have such a big impact on your game. Please more videos with fine details or "small things" that a newbie might not realize they are doing incorrectly. Thanks!
Very good advice. I do have that problem dropping my non-dominant arm by the side so practice catching the ball is really good advice. Cheers. Happy coaching, Karue 😊
Thank you! Watched the turning video and now this the perfect complement for correcting my timing and striking issues. Now to practice this 1000000x in 2022! Let’s go!
Can't wait for you to come back to Melbourne one day and get a selfie! I met Marcos a few days ago and watched Mackies match literally a seat beside Marcos😁 Thanks for sharing these lessons!
My coach has me hit 1000's of drop feeds to burn this in. I argue with him that where you catch the ball is NOT where you will hit the ball, but I get it. Could you make some videos shot from above? That racket path is as important as the side. You rock. Go Bruins.
Hi KARUE, I am French and I have been playing for a few months with the yonex vcore 98 racket. First of all, thank you very much for all your advice and all your videos. They improved my tennis. And that's cool. I have a question: where? and how much lead weight exactly? you would add on the Yonex VCORE 98 of 2021, to improve it. I would like to have your help. Your professional opinion. Thank you in advance for your answer. Good continuation !!! You are a great guy!!! and a great community. If anyone can help me with this query, thank you all.
These forehand taken from this angle highlights what I was saying from my comment on your last video about pulling through contact. Many persons at the lower level think great topspin is created by how much you push and turn your wrist through contact to create that windshield wiper motion and that's why you see amateurs pulling violently across their body in an effort to get more spin. 90% of this stroke is pulling and that's what creates effortless racket head speed, the last 10% is just for proper extension and control. I do think it the problem stems from technique especially when your elbow is not high enough on your takeback and the spacing is not adequate to accommodate a smooth low to high swing. I think these elements of the stroke are worth highlighting so there's a better understanding of where true, effortless power comes from. That Naomi forehand is lethal! I wonder if Karue is responsible for that?🙂🤔
Karue, I came back here to write you and ask you if you could please make a video about the racket drop, arm supination and lag or maybe point me out to one of your videos you already posted. Thank you.
Helpful lesson - gonna try the catch the ball thing. Something you missed but I find quite important is the other thing your off arm can do is correctly turn your hips - if you push out with it your hips go around to the direction you are pushing.
Karue, Great instruction. However, it's very clear when viewed in slowmo, that Naomi drops her left arm all the way to her waist after contact with the ball. It stays there until the racket comes across her body at which point she raises her hand to accept the racket. I have a very similar motion with my left hand which seems to work very well for me. Any comment on this? Thanks!
i'd like to see a video on the on-the-run open stance backhand. i hit a good open stance backhand on my returns, but when i am on the run with my backhand, i can't find a way to get the "kick out" right (djokovic and swiatek being the obvious ones, murray and nadal being others) when im on the run and end up chasing with my right leg (im right handed) rather than kicking out my left leg.
Great video! This works really amazingly on court :). small question, how would this be done on the backhand side? what tips and tricks for the right distance on the backhand? Thanks in advance Karue!
Very important video! Im struggling with my swing because I finish it very low, sometimes on the level of my hips. This looks like advise I have been looking for. Thank you Karue
Great video, thanks guys. I definitely need to video myself and tidy this element of my forehand up! One on the follow-through next would be really helpful!
what you show at 1.25 is exactly what djokovic does , but i love the girl preparing with an open racket face were 5000 coaches saying you need the racketface to be closed during the whole time :):)
Comment not about the video but the channel in general: it would but super interesting to have your opinion on some matches in big tournaments - like the Australian Open that's currently ongoing. As big tournaments are putting more and more videos on youtube nowadays, I think a lot of people would like to have your insight on technical aspects of interesting matches. Just a thought!
can you make a video on more of the mental aspect of tennis? specifically, why does a player tend to suddenly get nervous when he sees somebody is watching him play?
This is great stuff...question, when I catch my forehand is it better to catch the grip? Looks like you and Naomi catch the grip. Ive been catching the the throat. Does that limit the roation?
One off topic. In the video the girl spins the racket after each stroke like checking the grip. I tend to do the same but wanted to know if this is something to avoid. Great video btw
Also, as a baseball player before tennis player, that left arm seemed in the way of my vision. I hated it until I got used to it. Athletes coming from other sports (hate/love) tennis?
excellent video!!....Im brand new to tennis/haven't even stepped on a court yet.....here's my question..when dropping the raquet in your turn(rthanded)would it be ok to also slightly drop the non-hitting arm(keeping it in front of body) before allowing it to arc back up in the forward swing....to me it just feels correct(i have an overactive right-side and sometimes my rt elbow prematurely rotates inward causing my hand to rotate...or is they're an easier solution?......thks
Lol tbh if its your first time just get some experience this is a bit out of your league, its hyperfocused on a niche aspect of 1 of many strokes in the sport

What the off arm does is very important and it’s something that I seldom see coaches talking about. Glad you made a video discussing it, Karue!
I'm glad you liked it!
Great advice. I always have an issue with spacing and timing on my forehand. And the catch and hit is great when you don't have a hitting partner too! (ie. hitting against a wall, ball on a string)
Haha I told him.... Thank you. Also sometimes I try to exhale/grunt at impact to time things. I still suck and getting no better at 56 but hey.
I was thinking the same thing, when you hit with a ball machine.
Great video…..Naomi also inverts her left palm like Theim….helps stabilize left shoulder/allows right side to accelerate and plow through the ball.
Excellent instruction per usual. I agree 1000% regarding the importance of the non-dominant arm. Thanks so much for your willingness to share game-changing content!
Thank-You. I've been to many clinics and never was told about using my left hand out front, catch the ball, for a better forehand. Appreciate! 🎾
best tip, when I discovered this, a world of beautiful and consistent forehands opened up to me
As usual, this is must watch for players of all levels. Your content continues to be 🔥🔥
Thank you very much!
thanks ! fist video Ive seen that explains the cause of hitting late ! Great tutorail

Great content! I was looking for this, thanks coach!
This was very helpful ❤❤
My coach taught me this one time and also holding my racquet with my left arm for longer and that really changed my game when I was 12-13
Thanks. Great video. Sometimes one little detail like this can really make a difference. You nailed this for me
Thank you!
Love your vibe and knowledge!
Good stuff Karue

Great video this is so important and a lot a lot of Teaching Pros never say this while they are Teaching the forehand.

@@KaruesellHQ Really looking forward.
I really like the idea of using the non dominant arm as a guide for distance. I frequently get too close to the ball.
There are some tips for backhand side?
Karue, I came back here to write you and ask you if you could please make a video about the racket drop, arm supination and lag or maybe point me out to one of your videos you already posted. Thank you.

amazing
Great video! This works really amazingly on court :). small question, how would this be done on the backhand side? what tips and tricks for the right distance on the backhand? Thanks in advance Karue!
I've heard the cue of using your right shoulder to aim at the ball (almost like using a bow and arrow to shoot the ball).
