- The Royal Domain of Drottningholm stands on an island in Lake Mälar in a suburb of Stockholm. With its castle, perfectly preserved theatre (built in 1766), Chinese pavilion and gardens, it is the finest example of an 18th-century north European royal residence inspired by the Palace of Versailles.

This is a lovely place to visit, and if you take one of the little steamers out it makes for a very pleasant day out. The formal gardens are like a miniature Versailles and while there's a 'no photo' policy inside the palace, the guides are more than happy to discuss the history with you. We even managed to see the Changing of the Guard and get a private tour while we were there. A must when in Stockholm!
It really is a beautiful castle!
I did a part of my military service as a royal guard at that castle.
Cool
I went there on a school trip
It sucked
Thanks Catrin for sharing with us
Never visit here in winter.
Do not visit my country at all in the winter unless you are Eskimo. Then we have pure hell here. 😅
I think that is why in our country Australia, during your winter, our summer is full of Swedes!
😂
Jesus, that voice! Why roll the vowels on the last word of every sentenceeeeeeeeeee? Volume off
