Wow that truly is a tiny Optimus prime. Honestly, I have to say that is true attention to detail in this one.
I don't think I'd be willing to pay $80 for it even if he was a miniature hybrid figure. It's commander price for a mini version of a very simple figure
I like it I want it but not for $80
That's nice but I think it is more "collectible" if it has the trailer and Roller along with it.
Of that I wholeheartedly agree.
Affirmative.
Then it would $180.00
@@sci-fi.tsunami Right. But if stupid people are willing to pay $180 for this aftermarket. They would be willing to pay $180 for a version retail with the trailer and Roller... 😂
I like this idea. It would also be to scale with those die cast Lightning Mcqueens
I personally love it! I’m a G1 fan from the beginning way back in 1984 and even though it’s $80 a lot went into making that and they did a fabulous job! Too bad I missed out on getting one.
beautiful little thing, but not for that price.
Still not paying $80 Hasbro
Kingdom Core Class is still a better compromise
Nope I pass it's expensive
Much more than I'd be willing to pay for it. Cool in hand though.
It's HW, what do you expect..?
Absolutely worth it! The crossover alone with packaging is the price.
Then, you get die-cast.
I hope they make the trailer.
He’s broke that’s why 😂
RLC prices are becoming a scam. It's just a 1/64 toy car.
I love that little Optimus! I'm glad they made it like the original but smaller.
They should have made an accurate version of him.
very interesting. The site in the description said it's 80 bucks :o
I use to collect hot wheel but is a good Crossover Optimus prime
Just found your channel, subscribed! Glad I got two of these, will be cool to display them in both forms. And people complaining about the price, its only going to go up in value, and there are rumors that 27K were made, would have been nice if this was numbered.
Welcome to the community! Here you can find retrospectives and reviews, plus the occasional livestream. Most of the comments are pretty positive too.
I think it's cool Hasbro sent you this, it means they are paying attention to your hard work. Thanks for sharing this, very tiny figure but really fun to see.
The Spectraflame paint on this guy looks sick! It's a shame they were so hard to get hold of
Prime: I’m shiny
$80 is way too expensive unfortunately. Id buy it for like $60 max
So jealous. Looks amazing.
This is a transformer for the hot wheels collector. I collect both but I lean more on the transformers side.
Something I'd be more interested in would be a transformers crossover figures (or two). Like an Autobot with a twin mill alt mode and maybe a Decepticon with a bone shaker alt mode. I'd be all over that.
No I collect both
I had a keychain Optimus I wish transformed and this is that maybe not the version I had but i grabbed one for me too wish I got a second one for my lil brother now lol
I’m good with the $10 non transforming version with a trailer
Yeah, I’ll be looking for that one and Bumblebee. I actually hope they make others as Hot Wheels cars.
Very fair assessment of the Hot Wheels Optimus Prime. Thanks for your take Rodimus Primal 💪🏾
My favorite part of this whole video/experience is the fact that hasbro sent this to you sir.
That's phenomenal
I appreciate that. I'll be honest, they did not have to. I don't think I'm all that significant. But I'll let my opinions be true.
@@RodimusPrimalDon't sell yourself short. You have an audience and a good part that actively collects. Hasbro is aware of that.
"Paid" promotional stunt.
Thank god Hasbro provided you with that copy. Otherwise, pretty cool novelty item😅
I honestly would not have got it otherwise.
Optimus Prime + Spectraflame paint = perfection
Really cool, I love a tiny Optimus, but not for $80. I'm in the "too expensive" camp. I would have paid $40 for it no problem.
i passed on this cause to me it is not worth $80.00 if it came with the trailer for it, maybe. but, just as it is. nope, not worth that price.
That seems to be the biggest contention with everyone. It's way too expensive even for a collector's item.
Hi Rodimus, even though you're Asleep Great video about First Look! Hot Wheels Optimus Prime Review, keep them coming, Also your latest video was outstanding, Also The Hot Wheels Optimus Prime Review was superb, Also Awesome job about First Look Review Hot Wheels Optimus Prime from Transformers, Also I too personally love it! I'm a G1 fan from the beginning way back in 1984 and even though it's $80 a lot went into making into making that and they did a fabulous job! Also he is cook and the box is amazing, Also It is beautiful. I hope to not only find it on sale. But also to buy it. Also Great Video Rodimus, always really enjoy your channel and content👍 Also Rodimus, this unbelievable!!! We know that Hasbro has collaboration with Hot Wheels regarding iconic Bots especially Optimus Prime!! Even for a minature version, we all know a giant version of Optimus always send the Decepticons packing half with the weapons and Strategy. The unveiling is really nice, for collectors' edition, as you managed to transform him!! Your calculations in size comparison really works for this video!!! Also thanks for sharing Rodimus, All I can say is keep up the good work stay safe out there in Florida, Keep The video rolling Rodimus, have a goodnight, it's is Superb!!! And until next time TILL ALL ARE ONE!!! 🙂🟢💪🦸🇺🇲🏋️👍💚😎😁👏 12:40 am.
I'd want one... but not for that price! 8[
Have you heard of the studio series 86 shuttle attack Ratchet and Brawn 2 pack have been revealed?
I saw it while editing this. I'll have to make a news video on it soon!
I think, it's way to expensive, but it's interessting to see, that Hasbro gave Mattel the license for this.
It serms to me, that the size of the Mattel Optimus Prime is simalar to the New Age David mold (their Version of Optimus Prime) and the engeneering from New Age is great.
I hope they do another run, I called it on TJOmega's video that they would underproduce these things, the Hot Wheels Collector's items always seemingly sell out by the time you pull the page up at the scheduled release time, it's worse than Hasbro Pulse.
I mean if you like the Vintage look, and you want to 'collect'.. but there are so many way more cool G1 Optimus for that price... Hot wheels just wanted a to try people.. I guess.
It was a struggle but I managed to secure 1 after like 9 or 12 capchas and 20 mins thrown into the waiting que. Personally i wouldnt want another run because then its not an exclusive anymore this is the reason why I dont buy motu origins figures anymore, unless Prime has his trailor attached and its different packaging all together maybe. However can't wait to receive mine. Wish though he had his trailor. Anyway thanks for sharing ❤
Imagine the potential with this collab, maybe we could also get Hot Rod, Ultra Magnus or even the Stunticons
You are lucky AF and don't seem too excited. Lol.
I wanted but I am not paying $80. I personally feel like that is a crazy rip off. They would have to sit here and fully 100% explain why it cost that much.
That's what bothered me about it. It's $80 and yes I'm lucky to review it. But while many Hot Wheels fans will buy it, Transformers fans see the value in better official versions of Optimus Prime. It's a really cool looking figure. But not $80 cool.
Wow, 80.00.
Sorry, pass.
Thank you for the review.
It’s cool, but the price was ridiculous to begin with, much less now that it’s already sold out and doubled in price over the course of a week🙄
That is really awesome. Sure wish they had a cool little trailer too. Wonder if they could make Jazz and Starscream too.
I'm hoping they do that with Missing Link.
I'll stick to picking up the other Hot Wheels Prime, the semi-truck and trailer.
DIE CASTE POWER
I had to get it! What a unique collaboration
I passed. Picked up two Missing Link Primes. C0-2 variant. You get more for your money.
Shhhh. Spoilers.
@@RodimusPrimal To be fair I did pick up a Track Fleet Optimus Prime. For $10.00 + a trailer, even though it does not transform, was a no brainer.
it´s cool, personally i don´t really need it, but it would go well with like the titan ark.
I, say well worth if one is both a Hotwheels fan and a Transformers fan. 2 for the price of 1😊😊
I want one, I just missed out. I hope there's another run.
There won’t be buy it on eBay
$80 is not worth to buy. I did pass cause it’s too small and no trailer included.
Great video
I already have the littlest Transformer version. Cost much less. For $40-$50 dollars it would have been a must have. All your paying for is the packaging and glamorous paint job.
So the only difference is you have to pull the feet out and down . I remember I used to put my fist in the cab chest as well lol😂
It's a shame scalpers all bought them all up to put them on eBay to sell them for hi hi dollar
I hear the scalpers killed the pre orders in the first hour it was available
I talk to a few hotwheels collectors said they are passing on it. It's a pass for me also. $80 is to pricey for his size and he doesn't even have a trailer. Missing link C-01and C-02 is the better bang for your money. Be blessed
Thanks for the info. I keep seeing Hot Wheels collectors hyping it but we Transformers fans are certainly not willing to pay that kind of money for something so small.
$80 hot wheels execs smoking crack
No thanks! Not worth $80.00. For another $20.00 I bought the missing link version with trailer from Amazon Japan. Too small too!
Secondary market says your wrong
You can buy 80 hot wheels for the price of that one😂😂
At least include the trailer to help justify the price.
Totally agree. With Roller too. This was clearly aimed at the Hot Wheels collectors and not the Transformers fan.
Olha muito legal esse ,quero 1 de presente.
I got 3 BE Cause they were 80 USD
I'm a fan since I was a kid, I'm 50 now..But No on the price, Only catering to the people are willing to spend alot of money
From what I am gathering, it's the Hot Wheels collectors are all over this.
awesome job about First Look Review Hot Wheels Optimus Prime from Transformers
Enjoyed your review. I think this lil guy is awesome just couldn’t afford $80. Happy for everyone who could get one and hope they enjoy. I’ll be tempted to sell something if another pre order comes about.
I sold a bunch of HW and luckily snagged one. I hope it's as good as it looks.
Awesome review rodimus! As a transformer fan AND a 64 scale collector, I would love to have it in my collection, but if I'm being honest, 80 dollars is too out there for me. I mean for just 10 bucks more I could get a magic square optimus prime with all the bells and whistles, including a trailer and all the other accessories a prime would need, minus the dicast which may seem like a loss, but in the end, you get a top of the line fully articulated, animation accurate optimus that is 1 64 scale, and to me that just sounds like a much better deal. I wish they could've made this for at least 35 dollars, but 80 bucks for a mini transformer that can't even pose that well? To me, that's thievery on mattels part.
I wonder if the licensing fees make it that expensive. Or if its just Mattel being greedy knowing that many 64 scale collectors are going to eat it up. The consensus among Transformers fans seems to be too pricey for what it is.
I just want a remake of the original..... I think it was at Wal Mart a few years back for 49.99. I wish I would have gotten it...
I'll be talking about that in my next review.
I collect a bit of both. So this might be my Christmas present
How HW thought they could get away with selling one hot wheel for $80 is beyond me.
I hear ya. Going to be talking about it a lot more in my Missing Link Optimus review.
Of course Hasbro gets abit of the share that's why it's expensive
Not only did they "get away with" it. They sold out in less than 30 minutes. This will happen again.
People underestimate what HW collectors are willing to spend.
Great review and congratulations on the freebie. It's nice, but not $80 nice.
That's kind of my point in the review. It's too expensive for what it is.
Great Video Rodimus, always really enjoy your channel and content 👍
Thanks. More reviews, news, and Retrospectives incoming.
@@RodimusPrimalawesome can’t wait 🤗👍
Why is no one talking about the $10 non transforming Hot Wheels Optimus Prime truck with trailer that randomly appeared on BBTS not that long ago, before this guy was announced? If the trailer is removable and this guy is the same size, I think you see where I'm going with this. It at least gives a cheap alternative for collectors who buy one for each mode. $90
I don't disagree, which is why I put an affiliate link for it in the description.
@@RodimusPrimal yeah. It's odd that I have seen _no_ mention of it even after this guy was revealed?
I think its because they put the focus on the expensive collectible. Now that pre-orders are up, I'll have to make mention in my next news video.
Did you pay $ 80.00 for this?@@RodimusPrimal
@jaws848 I disclosed in the video that Hasbro sent me this directly. That's why I just gave the style review I did because I wanted to be as objective as possible. I mean its nice, but no where near $80 nice.
This is more expensive then missing links optimus prime, hard pass. Rather buy the missing link
Totally agree. That was my point in the review. I looked it objectively but I still think its way too expensive.
LMO $80 no thanks
It's like the world's smallest Optimus prime but with rtx mode on!
I may be perfectly happy with my Legacy Core-Class G1 Optimus as my go to Micro Prime, but if I do end up seeing this in person, I'll might actually think about it. I also really like the Premium Display Packaging. Something I feel Hasbro should look into more if all is possible. After all I'm one of those who holds on to my Packaging for Putting Away, and even display inside when not playing. I just feel it's more efficient than just chucking the toys in a Box like we all used to do as Kids, and I just really enjoy Box-Art now as well. So, Congratulations Mattel!!!
Rodimus, this unbelievable!!! We know that Hasbro has collaboration with Hot Wheels regarding iconic Bots especially Optimus Prime!!! Even for a miniature version , we all know a giant version of Optimus always send the Cons' packing half the with weapons and strategy. The unveiling is really nice, for collectors' edition, as you managed to transform him!!! Your calculations in size comparison really works for this video!!! Keep this video rolling, Rodimus, it is superb!!! Till All are One !!!
Hot wheels collaborated with Transformers?!!! (whispering) It's gorgeous
Die cast, a lost art. Too bad it's a little bit out of my price-range.
You're not alone in thinking that.
They knew the hot wheels collectors would eat it up even at that price.
Too much for my bank account as an average joe.
Yeah this was definitely geared towards the Hot Wheels fan.
$80?
hell naw.
My brother likes to collect these smaller cars like hot wheels so I'm wondering if he's gonna get this. Personally I'm not into hot wheels but it looks so cool I can already imagine how heavy it must feel. I do wonder if the Hasbro x Mattel crossover is just gonna end there or have some more stuff coming up.
I was in until I saw the price tag. $80 is crazy. Shocked it sold out at that price.
I'll be surprised if it doesn't top $300 on the secondary market.
I'm not sure I ever saw a bigger RIP-OFF than this thing. And I thought Diaclone Reboot, Macross, Storm Collectibles, NECA & Lego were massive rip-offs. But this thing is on a whole new level of BS pricing.
I really like it and would love to have one... but for $80 ? If he had his trailer to go with it, then it would be a lot more justifyable for that price.
Also, it would be cool to have Transformer miniatures that are 1:87 scale, to be compatible with model railway's HO Scale. Now, THAT would be a really useful crossover!
Really nice collectors item if it was $20 cheaper
Yeah I totally agree. It's priced WAY too high. Not to mention it was only sold through Mattel's website and sold out quickly. At least as far as I know.
He is cool and the box is amazing
For $80 should at least comes with the trailer.
I fully agree with you.
I'm not into hot wheels but I do like the idea behind this one
It’s cool. I mean nice for the tiny scale. But I’d have to have a crazy case of IBS (Impulse-Buy-Syndrome) to get into paying $80 for basically a Super (Ultra-Duper) Hotwheels edition.
Takara: Missing Link C-01
Mattel: Hold my beer... whoops whoah wha? there's beer all over the place! Wait, that's not beer I've been drinking... that's not beer at all!
Already sold out😂
That's why I said I hope they do a second run of them.
@@RodimusPrimal sorry☺️for me its late here, greetings from the netherlands.
Great idea but a big pass for me, I thought it was 1/64 scale but this seems larger, also that price...woof.
It is 1/64 scale, which is why I placed one of my old Hot Wheels vehicles in one of the photos.
@@RodimusPrimal - I didn't see that in the video
Around 2:27
@@RodimusPrimal - thanks for taking the time to mark the pic. I missed it twice. I thought it was larger, nice to see the scale is correct because I legit thought it was a slightly larger scale.
Even if I had $80 in spending money, I will NOT buy this.
To this day, I still hate Mattel Creations after what they did to Thomas and Friends...
There's something to be said about the scale for sure. The only thing Go-Bots had over Transformers was the scale as every kid had a pile of Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars which could be used with the Go-Bots and not the Transformers. As a kid, I think I would have preferred the smaller scale to go with my Hotwheels. Eventually Transformers were made at that scale and I have a few around here somewhere from the kids' time playing with them, I think they're from the Michael Bay movies.
I hope they reissue it with high gloss paint, but not metallic. I want one but I didn’t even know they were coming out. Now they’re $180.
The type of paint that this little guy is painted in is the Hot Wheels exclusive Spectraflame, used for their Super Treasure Hunt models, and their Red Line Club exclusive castings, Rodimus.
It's nice, but way to expensive for a Hot Wheels. When I heard about this coming out I was hoping it was going to be bigger, but it is very small and not worth 80 bucks..
For the life of me I simply cannot see $80. Price tag for this. It looks nice but not that nice. However I do wonder if the hot wheels Optimus Prime that doesn't transform's trailer would work with this?
If its numbered its ok to pay 80$ if they do a secundaria run And do like the other casting yeah tiene probably Just 30$. You want to keep in your collection something that would go up in value, not down
It’s a functional Transformer but is it a functional Hot Wheels? Someone please test if this figure can zoom down plastic tracks.
It's a nice (tiny) figure, but definitely not worth $80. This feels like the ultimate in price gouging.
A lot of the collectors stuff in the market seems a bit ridiculous, but this looks durable and well done. Something that would hold it’s value better overtime, but wow 80 is a bit expensive.
