    I added a rear view camera and screen to mine because I ride on the road mostly. Works very nice

      Nice. I've seen those. Where does the screen go?

      @@scotthardestyI put mine to the left of the normal display. It’s a 4.3” screen. It kinda takes up a lot of handlebar space

    Scott, I've got a conundrum here. My new Cannondale Moterra Neo3 is in the shop with a warranty issue on my brakes, so they'll have my bike for 3-4 weeks & will be installing a new chain (a better one) after just over 100 miles.
    In the meantime, my wife has given clearance for me to get another bike, and I am deciding between the Summit and the Ramblas. The Ramblas, of course, has better components and is definitely more torquey. I could really feel how much torque it had in trail and boost. The Summit's motor is extremely quiet (Ramblas has a high-pitched whine), but, while it says it has 90nm torque, didn't "feel" near as torquey. I do, though, like that I wouldn't have to spend money on chains as much as the mid-drive, but I've really gotten used to mid-drive motors (2 of my bikes have them).
    This new (other) bike is more of a back-up for me, and will also be the bike that I loan out to friends when they say they don't have an e-bike or have another excuse.
    I rode them back-to-back, which was nice but also left me in a quandary. I'm torn, Scott. Any guidance here?

      If the main purpose of the bike is to put it on trails then I would go with the Ramblas. If your back up bike would be to ride around in the city and maybe some off roading now and again then the Summit would be my choice. Like you, I wanted an extra bike for friends to use but since I know that will be on single track, I purchased a 2nd Ramblas.

      @@scotthardesty Thanks. I'm still torn. I'm going to ride both again today.

      @@tonygiancoli9626 I was considering selling my Summit 1 and getting a Ramblas. However I'm a little put off by reports of the noisy motor. If only there was a way of programming the motor for more power to the pedal assist on the Summit 1. The Summit 1 definitely has the power. And the motor is nice and quiet.

      @@tonygiancoli9626 I was also considering changing to a larger cassette for a lower gear to help with climbing with the summit 1. I'm not sure what that entails but it seems like something to consider.

      @@scotthines5834 There is definitely a whine factor with the Ramblas. It's much louder than the Summit, but it's got a lot more torque (at least, it felt like it).

    Hell ya so the rims can be setup for tubeless?!?! That’s great to know, also like the decals mine are red but I may get the orange decals looks way better! Nice job, looks good! Thanks for the video!

      I haven't put this bike under testing yet to see if the tubless setup will hold, but riding in the city it is no problem. I plan on getting this thing out on trails one more time to see if the tubless setup will hold.

    Great video. I've been riding my Summit 1 on steeper trails and I find that even in boost mode level 5 there are some trails I cannot get up without using the throttle.
    It seems like the motor has enough power but not in pedal assist. You have to use the throttle. Has that been anyone's experience?

    • @scotthardesty
      @scotthardesty  16 днів тому

      I think I have noticed that as well. when climbing, no matter what level you are on, the moment you hit that throttle, you can instantly feel more power.

    • @Sir_Dab
      @Sir_Dab 15 днів тому

      Same here I am using the throttle a lot while riding technical sections uphill.

    • @scotthines5834
      @scotthines5834 15 днів тому

      @@Sir_Dab I prefer to not use the throttle so much and therefore have order a 40t chainring. It now has 44t. That should help. I took a couple of the links out of my chain.
      If that does not do the trick a new cassette with lower gears would probably do it. If I change the cassette with a higher tooth count, I'll probably have to add a few links to my chain.

    • @tomolryify
      @tomolryify 11 днів тому

      Exactly. I like the bike but it currently has a problem with any significant hills. UA-cam search "Velotric Summit 1 Problems" for my experience. Velotric support has acknowledged and said they will address with a firmware update. We'll see. Others have complained about overheating on big hills. I'm in the process of updating the chainring and cassette - hopefully that will also help.

    • @scotthines5834
      @scotthines5834 11 днів тому

      @@tomolryify yes I have experience and overheating issue as well. I put on a 36 Tee chain ring and it helped a lot in climbing. I bought a new 11-40 cassette but I have been waiting to put it on.
      It would be easier to address the issue with the chainring. But at least it's good to know that the motor has adequate power. As you said it is either a firmware update and or a gearing issue.

    Is the bomber z2 rake and axel size the 44mm-15QRx110 for the summit?

      I believe so. I put a link in the description that shows which one it was.
