Thanks for putting this up. Had a similar issue on my 115 HP. I used only the plumbing tape around the bottle neck and the oil level sensor. Added a zip tie around the cap and no leaks this far. I think my cap is slightly different but none the less this worked for me.

    MY MAN!
Thank you so much for posting this. I replaced the entire oil tank and sensor about 7 years ago and it's leaking again. Don't remember how much i paid but I'm sure prices have shot way up.
I will be doing this fix in the next day or so.

Oh my god thank you! First I am glad I found the reason for my oily outboard lower parta so quickly and second I am relieved that the solution is simple. At first I thought that something had exploded. 😂

In regards to this video you posted, does this fix issues if a "Yamaha outboard engine" is leaking water into the oil inside the motor? My pops in the Virgin Island has this issue and the mechanics are stumped and can't seem to pin point the issue. Do you have a video by any chance that might show how to fix that type of problem?

I mean road can be windy and different change in slope when riding my car, but its laying on proper side, by the time I come to fishing spot, theres ton of oil leaked out and motor doesn't start, so frustrating, i just bought this motor and already having issues. Yes, I believe they are still using the same sensor in 2008.
