Now that was some quick hands working the wrench! Great job showing just how easy it is to install the swivel chair. Thanks! We have often thought about trying van life and building it ourselves. This will come in real handy if we do it.
Wow this is something I would have never ever attempted. Not that I can’t unscrew and screw on bolts but the lifting of the chair on and off etc. just seems like it would be too difficult, but you proved it not to be! I’m totally impressed. this is a great item to have and the extra seating is going to be so appreciated over and over and over! What a great reward for 45 minutes worth of work and a little cash!
wow the swivel seat changes everything! So much more practical. Just flip around and you have a whole new lounging area. Thanks for showing the process very helpful we are currently looking for a class B van, as well. hoping to find one that fits in a standard size garage.
That is a great seat. You will enjoy having it. I am amazed at your talent and willingness to tackle these jobs. I don’t think I would have even tried. Michael maybe but not me. Haha!
Want to do this to my ford freestar mini van, but looks a lil more complicated than this, with airbags and all. Messing with the electric seats is also a lil more involved. Great job on yours!
I have done another one since this van. The swivel base has a spot to feed electric through. Just make sure to disconnect battery first before messing with wires.
My swivel seat doesn’t swivel at all. I’ve been at this for three hours and it won’t budge even a little it’s stuck or something. I guess I’ll need to return it I know it can’t be this hard it must have been damaged in delivery. Ive watched a million videos and nothing about swivel issues so mine must be broken 😠 Figures since nothing at all is going right with the van. Oh and Amazon booted us out so I’ll be removing all the links this weekend since that’s now over too. Oh well, I tried but we just don’t have what it takes. Feeling very defeated tonight. This seems to be an easy task if you get a swivel that actually swivels. I’ll try again in a few weeks whenever I get a replacement. I’ve got the seat out and the airbags disconnected so halfway there thanks to your video though!
Oh girl, this is crazy. Did you get the Euro Campers one? Can you possibly take pictures and send them to me. I am no expert but sometimes is you look at something for too long... I hate this. You have my number
I got it from Sportsmobile. This has been a while, I have heard from others that it's not available. I use Euro Campers for my seat swivels now. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. 🙂
I just love your workshop ❤❤❤❤❤ great job again 😀😀😀😀😀 full watch as always 👍👍👍👍👍stay safe my dear friend 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 P.S. I could not play your last live of 6 hours this time, helping Stray Haven ph now.. but it's great that you are building up many hours of video material, when you'll get there it will be very helpful. I'll definitely play it then. Oh, a little advice: you should already make one full playlist that contains all your vids, and best to put the total duration in the title. And add later every new video to it and update the title with the new duration ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank You, you gave me what I needed! Confidence to do it.....I don’t see where you bought the swivel.....can you give me the link if you can And Thank You for this great video.....quick and to the point! Great stuff! Keep it up! Subscribed!
Thank you so much Brian. I got it from sportsmobile.com but I have been told they do not sell to the public anymore. I got my promaster swivels from Euro campers and am very pleased with that install process as well. It really is an easy DIY project. good luck and thank you so much for the sub.
I wish you had shown the part where you took the existing hardware of the current seat. I want to make sure I order the right swivel base. Need to know what measurements are important when ordering.
Alyson this is a 2003 Ford E-150. check with Euro Camper and see if they have one that will fit. I got this one from sport marine and have been told by other followers that they no longer carry it
Jonnie -- Love this! I have 2000 Astro Van...and change you could share where you got the part and which part? Does it work with all van seats? Thank you!
@@JonniesJourney thanks for the reply....I actually read through all of the comments after I asked you that question and wrote that down last night, wish me luck and thanks for the video!😊
@@JonniesJourney That's frustrating. I pulled a couple middle seat bases from a Savana at the junkyard last week, but I just realized that they don't allow the seat to be moved forward or backward. I saw them for sale online for $300 though, so perhaps I can resell them. As a fellow female builder I love your channel, so I subscribed! I’ve been wanting this for a few years,I really need to just order it.Great instructional video I think I can handle this😉👍🏻
You can do it!
Wish I had done that before getting rid of my seat. Great video. Thanks.
Thanks Dee. When I got the van it didn't have a seat, I grabbed one from a salvage yard.

Thanks for watching. Van live is a big win for handy people. Your tiny home proves you both definitely qualify.
You made that look probably easier than it would be for most. Comfortable looking seat.
Thank you. Except for lifting the seat in very limited space it really is an easy task.
That's awesome. Now you will actually have more seating. By having these seats to be able to swivel around
Yes Ma'am

Thank you Deb. It's all the editing LOL
Nice install. You made it look really simple and now you have a seat 💺 that works for the back of the van. Super nice! We can’t wait to see more.
Thanks Teresa. It makes a huge difference.
Thank you for your video, the information, and your time. 😎🤟
Glad it was helpful!
Johnny did my swivel seat in a van the manufacturer said wasn't possible. Yay! Really opens up the space in the van
Thank you Kathy

That would be great, seems like they are all to tall and to long for most normal garages.
great energy! thanks for blazing this trail.
thank you so much.
Well done Jonnie! That certainly was straight forward, nothing complicated except a little elbow grease!!
Yeah pretty easy. Just kind of showing how easy it is in case someone is thinking about hiring it out. Definitely DIY.
Thats a great improvement to your van, nice and easy thanks for sharing
Glad I stumbled upon this video. Was curious as to what the install would entail and now you put my mind at ease. Great video!

Do you have a link for where you purchased your swivel seat base? I'm in the market for finding one to install on my 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan.

Were you able to hide the modification with the original seat side skirts? I have a vintage cargo van, thus a cool metal skirt I'd like to save. ;)
I did. Worked out great
Where did you get the swivel base? I am having difficulty finding this one that you are showing, even when I try to search "sportsmobile". Thanks.
Trt Sportsmobile E- Series. I have been using Euro Campers for my swivel bases now. They have very fast service.
Very nice 👍
Thank you

They are about $250

Give the company the year, make model and they will get you the right base. I have used Iron Cloud before and they have gotten it right both times.
Lookin good my friend!!
Thanks 👍
Maybe I am totally missing it but can you send a link to the swivel seat base you installed? and what year, make, & model is this van? Thank you!

I think I will attach the base to the seat first and then attach to the van floor.
That might be easier. Let me know. thanks for watching and commenting.
I think so to...!
Yeah, but where is the link to this product?! Can't believe no one has mentioned this in the comments. Great vid though, thanks!

Absolutely
Where can we order these for a Toyota sienna minivan?
Check with Iron Cloud. I don't think Sportsmobile had them anymore.
Where do you buy the swivel base?
Sorry this was a few years ago and they no longer sell them. Try Iron Cloud Metal
Any idea where to get this in Canada?
see if Euro Campers will ship. otherwise I don't know. i will do some checking though
Where did you get the base from?
They no longer have them, but I just ordered one for a client from shop4seats.com
I went into the sport mobile web site and didnt see where to order it. Can you please give me the web address?
what is the base called from sportsmobile store?
We have checked several times over the past few years and I do not believe they sell this. I get mine from Euro Campers now.
How much was your swivel seat?
This has been a while but I think it was ballpark $350
Hi there what is the name of the seat swivel..?
if you search swivel seat bracket for your van you should find what your looking for. I used Euro Campers out of Missouri for my current van build.
