I bought the iPad 8th gen in late 2020. There was no good option like the MI Pad back then. But now what I know from hindsight I might have picked the Mi Pad. The iPad is fine and all but it's kind of limited. But there's also the concern of MIUI starting to lag after a year like it happened with my POCO F1. Lastly the official Apple smart keyboard really is trash. But the logitech combo touch is about the same price, has a trackpad and is far better. I bought it. Was expensive but nothing really like it.

Hopefully, Xiaomi will iron out whatever niggles there are in the Pad 5 and hopefully they give a fingerprint scanner too. For the price, the Pad 5, I feel offers much more value than the iPad.
I would not suggest an Android tablet for anything other than watching videos. If you intend to do even a little work on your tablet, iPad is a much better choice. Hi! This is a video you uploaded 8 mons. ago but I hope you can notice this comment. I want to know if the xiaomi pad 5 can handle the KINEMASTER VID.EDITOR and can produce 1080p or 4k video?
I will probably go for the Xiaomi one just for it's price to performance ratio also I don't really care about software updates as I change my phone/tablet after every 2-3 years. Also in my experience all updates 1 year after the launch of the phone/tablet slows it down as companies want you to continue buying their new models although these updates may solve some glitches but they also bring new glitches with each update.

The most important thing with the iPad is the entry level iPad gives access to the reliable Apple ecosystem. The fact that this iPad will last longer with years of updates. The Android OS is never optimised for the tablet. All the specs are in Android tablets are outdated quickly. With fewer updates these tablets lose value and purpose.
But you have e to buy almost everything on ios. The “reliable Apple ecosystem” limits you only to app store. You can’t even download mp3 easily, even non copyrighted ones. Also, say goodbye to third party apps and modded/cracked apps.

Yup, usually people who bough android tablet forget they have it for a month of using it. Because android tablet is just bigger android phone..
Why do you guys give so much value to updates? Apples was caught launching updates that hammers performance of old products my dude lmao
Have you used an android tablet of the recent years? And what do you mean by specs outdated quickly, unless you game on it.
But you have e to buy almost everything on ios. The “reliable Apple ecosystem” limits you only to app store. You can’t even download mp3 easily, even non copyrighted ones. Also, say goodbye to third party apps and modded/cracked apps.

Everything comes down to the software support that apple is providing which itself wins at a huge margin in terms of no of years it will keep upgrading its software. No one comes near to that USP. I am just hoping that ipad OS should get more mature this year like near to mac OS.
Yeah, but we forgot the fact that the last few years of its updates are as good as nothing because new software features won't be given so easily to old devices and also each update slows down the iPad.
true, but it's sad that first gen ipad mini can't have a working youtube app, or disney hotstar and similar streaming app due to "ios limitation". meanwhile android tablet produced in the same year could install all application.
If only ios apps were installable from third party sources. The jailbreaking or alstore method is still restrictive compared to normal unrooted android.
