Das erste Restaurant war nicht so gut ,ihr hättet in ein nettes anderes Restaurant gehen sollen. Da gibt es Griechische Küche vom Feinsten. Ein bißchen suchen und Wahnsinns Küche genießen!
I lived there for 4.5 yrs as a teenager and haven’t been back since. I cook all those meals you have tried and my fave is the stuffed cabbage rolls. I will say that the food in greece is fresh. All meats, poultry, fruit and vegetables we cannot but that quality here in australia. The food just tastes differently. The beach experience is also the best. Crystal blue waters, and no sharks 😉. I hope you really enjoyed your holidays in greece. 🇦🇺
Yeah I think Greece is my favourite European destination. The food has so much variety in flavours, some of the best scenic sights I've ever seen and the people are crazy friendly and kind.
Greece is super high on my bucket list. I was supposed to go before COVID for my 40th but ended up buying an electric bike instead. 😢 Looking forward to the next video! ❤
The sauce that you enjoyed with the cabbage rolls is called avyolemono. It's a mix of lemon juice and eggs beaten together until cramy and then slowly poured into the finished pot of cabage rolls.
11:50. That is one of our most popular Greek desserts called galaktoboureko. However, I do feel they served it to you guys a little too warm. It should have been left to firm up just slightly so that it could be cut into a little easier, it's not typically served that warm. At best it should be at room temperature.
The reason you found the tzatziki so refreshing is because one of the main ingredients is grated cucumber along with the greek yogurt, garlic and a splash of vinegar.
@@LocalEatersMost of those are top, but you really have to try Spanakopita and fish soup, I know in Scandinavian countries they eat fish soup also but I have no clue with what kind of fish and how they make it, in Greece for me is the best dish ever and good Spanakopita with feta cheese and onions is just heaven, also the best meat in Greece is called "Psaronephri"
Oh yeah I've had spanakopita at home in Melbourne but never the first soup, that sounds delicious. I did try fish soup when I was in Sweden and that was very hearty, good flavours.
@LocalEaters In Greece is has to be with boiled kokkinopsaro ("red fish") you have to go in good Psarotaverna (fish restaurant) to try it, and don't forget Astakomakaronada (Lobster with pasta) there, also in Thessaloniki Bougatsa with cheese, you can find it in Athens also, but the original recipe is from Thessaloniki with melted mizithra.
friendly advice...when u go to athens before u sit somewhere to eat...make a search and try to find out a place full of greek citizens..u will understand why when u will taste the food..avoid places full of tourists...what i eat when i go to athens...visit vlahika area and u will see..if u are meat lover ofc...of no go to the beach and try psarotavernes(fish taverns)
ntolmadakia without minced meat in arent dolmadakia is a bs....ofc is the cheapest version for tourists lol...u must go once to the country a tour to taste food...or..next time try to find a greek guy to explain u somethings first...even feta taste is diferent from area to area from firm to firm...

The ingredients taste better in Greece cause of the good quality of the soil and nice mediteranean climate and plenty of sunny days
Wonder why Greek food Voted world's Number One ... Guys make me crazy hungry 😮
The produce there makes it so much better!
Oh my gosh, that everything looks delicious 🤤
Which is your favourite?
@LocalEaters the rugelach 100%

Greece is definitely top 3 European destinations. People are king and friendly beyond belief and the food 👌
Sell the bike and get to Greece is more than you think it will be
It's not a coincidence that this year, Greek cuisine took the first place over 40 countries ,Greek food is the best .
It's in my top 5!
The sauce that you enjoyed with the cabbage rolls is called avyolemono. It's a mix of lemon juice and eggs beaten together until cramy and then slowly poured into the finished pot of cabage rolls.
That was probably one of my favourite dishes in Athens! So good👌

It was my favourite dessert of all time. Couldn't believe what I was biting into 👌
@LocalEaters Did you get a chance to try bougatsa?
I love watching the reactions to this food which is my typical daily meal. (I have the yogurt, honey and walnuts for breakfast though). 🤣
Haha Greek food is my favourite European cuisine. So many interesting flavours and combinations!

Tzatziki has to be one of the greatest toppings of all time.
Also some put dill maybe yours had maybe not
@faelreklaw8837 Yes adding is very regional. It didn't seem that they encounter that, as I did not see any dark flecks in the tzatziki.
What surprised me during the whole video is that you picked good dishes to eat, you have traveled in Greece before?
Yes this is my second time in Greece, what I didn't try last time was the desserts and the cabbage rolls. Any other dishes I should have tried?

It's not cheese on top of the moussaka. It's a bechamel sauce which is made from butter, flour and milk.
Ooo yeah different consistency too, do creamy!
Gyros ,pork Gyros yiam yiam
Very yum yum
It is not cucumber what you tasted in the mousaka 😅 . It is zucchini. It is not often, but some cooks put also that together with the eggplant.
Haha just looked like it at the time, great combination.
