Glad I found your music. From Indiana and I have had the hardest year of my life. I lost my daughter this year on father's day. Music has been my only outlet seeing I don't have to many people to fall to. Family of mine is a wreck. No one is close. My wife and my 1 year old are all I have anymore. Just a struggling man looking for a meaning and understanding to why this had to happen to us.
Just wanted to chime in and say sorry for your loss. This has been my worst year as well. I found Stephen back in May and his music has proven to be the escape I have needed. As SWJ so eloquently puts it, hang in there.
This album deserves a GRAMMY.! I remember hearing Chris Stapleton in the early days with the Steel Drivers and said then he was going to be a super star some day. Stephen is a Super Star, the world just doesn’t know it yet.
I just happened to stumble on one of his videos yesterday and listened to many of his songs and more are instant hits. How does the world not know about him is beyond me and no offense to Stapleton but this guy is even better.
This belongs on the radio instead of the superficial CMT garbage. It's so refreshing to hear from a talented songwriter with something to say. Thank you for sharing!!
I just made 74 yrs old. This song brought me back to the loss and suffering of my brothers who were drafted to Nam. Our generation would have sung this song at EVERY protest! My eldest son turned me on to your music tonight. He said this is one of his favorites, it moves him to tears, as it did me. I'm so grateful that there is a young man telling the truth with exquisite songwriting.
This is a tipping point for country music...Stephen your story...your passion for songwriting, and your honest, authentic portrayal of who you are..is helping so many people facing adversity in their own lives. Thank you for having the courage, patience and fortitude.. enabling you to bring your music to the world. I hope I get to meet you some day. Your going to single handedly change the landscape of country music.🙏🌹
I woke up this morning with this song in my head. A couple of days ago a long time friend who was a Vietnam Veteran passed away. He died because the veterans administration messed him up with bad medicine then dragged their arses, getting him a needed lung transplant, until he was too sick to withstand the transplant. He was an incredible man who loved his country fiercely, but didn't stand for bullshit. He would help anyone if he could, and at one time or another, fixed everyone's cars in our circle of friends. Thank you for this powerful truthful song. It's worthy of the best protest songs of the 60's, from a 'looking back' perspective.
The greatest single artist to come our way in several generations, for a fact. Hats off to a powerful musician/singer/songwriter. It takes a crazy amount of practice, talent and God given gifting to reach down into a listener’s inner most being and touch it 👍🏻
Dude............just yesterday we had a discussion about how old men should go to war, because young men don't know what life is and are so much more willing to follow that order to pull the trigger. I found your music a month or so ago, and between you and Arlo McKinley, it seems like we have some VERY talented new singer/songwriters out there giving us good music to sooth our souls. Thanks for what you are giving us!
Problem though, a young man learns from war. The military makes men out of boys. An older man is wiser and realizes the wars you fight are at home, not overseas.
@@1980Baldeagle I've yet to meet a American vet that doesn't think he is a hero. Fighting on the side of good, against evil, when they were actually only hired guns for the very evil centuries old financial ruling class. I tell them, turn off the TV, go to the internet, all the information there from credible sources, not allowed in school books, on TV, that deals with real history/reality is there. Not interested, they say, meaning, they like the hero status!
Homie this dude is a rocker, don’t let the tunes fool ya. This is straight rockin, listen to the album version with the full band, it’s like Johnny cash rock n roll if that makes sense.
i dont think ive ever heard a more impactful lyric than "hey, aint they the ones that usually start 'em anyway?" in the context of this song because how damn true is that. bravo, dude
I could go on and on about this song and this artist. A massive breath of fresh air and another fine example that there will always be AMAZING NEW music made. Thank you Stephen Wilson Jr. for this art. Words cannot express my appreciation for you and your music. Hopefully I can catch a show or 5 🤞🤘🏻❤
I caught a clip of this on Telegram the other day and I was moved… Not only by the subject matter but the delivery. Very original, uniquely delivered and I thought provoking. You’re a fabulous writer… thank you for all that❤
I have been loving everything I have heard from you. Fascinated by your guitar. I would like to hear the story. A unique and inspirational sound man. Good stuff brother.
It says a lot when just the beginning of song before the lyrics can make you feel something. It makes me combat myself to which is better this version or the album version.
Alright, so here it goes. You are an amazing artist with something to actually say. I know producers, players, and writers who would kill to work with someone like you. Ill make sure to put your gospel out there man. Take care and God Bless
Like he needs your vehicle ? He already has a spaceship Time Machine flux capacitor limited editions . But at least you said it like a true narcissist!
Main stream music can't handle what this talented fellow is laying down. He has no hidden agenda nor is he interested in drinking the cool aid. To hell with mainstream music. The Tyler Childers, Colter Wall and this gentleman have more talent in toenails then all the Cowboy Carter and lip sinked Taylor Swift put together.

My worst year also. Feels like I won’t survive it. Im sorry for your loss. I wish for peace for you.
Hope things get better and I’m sorry for your loss man.

Agreed
His guitar playing, song writing and voice are elite level- he’s got the holy trinity of musicianship
Except chris sold out, stopped singing country and played with justin hollywood timberlake lmao fakeass country

All wars should be fought by the those who call for it..
Thank Jesus for comments like this. I thought I was going crazy. Glad there is some common sense left out there somewhere in the cosmos.

Just saw this man in L.A. opening for Midland. He stole the show
one of the best songs ever written right here. A truly unbiased anti-war song.
Just found him tonight. Several of his songs split the arrow. Profound artistry here...
Well said.

I just don’t understand why people like this are not all over the radio? You have to come to the u tube and stumble onto amazing down earth music
My name is Jeff from Carrollton Ohio and I've got to say, your songs are just what this country needs, keep it real and thank you
dittos here in Akron
And the UK, they hit it just right the world over 👍🏻
41 now, fought in Iraq and lost many friends while there…..this song hits different! You have become my favorite artist over the last year!
Shouldn't be fighting wars 😢 we know what it brings... hate breeds hate. Jesus didn't teach war, He told us to feed His sheep. ❤
This music is just what this country fucking needs.

Late to the game but grateful to have found your music. I'm spreading it to everyone I know!
forget Springsteen, also Stephen is a patriot, love and respect from Australia xxx
Every single song is a hit. I lost my dad this year and moved away from home. Your music brings me right back home.
I'm usually a rocker, but I love your music brother!!!! Thank you!!!!

This track along with Werewolf are my personal favorites so far.
Those bends on that riff and your soul throughout the song are impeccable
