Nobody sounds like this guy - no over-produced, autotuned bullshit just a voice, a guitar and a whole lot of hurt. I discovered him from his cover of Stand By Me and then I watched the entire Print Shop set and then couldn't stop searching. His interview on The Print Shop was so wholesome and honest as well, what a beautiful guy. I love it when we find these diamonds.

Well, that is one more year down.
Last night was a lonely one, as many birthday nights have been these past few years.
I miss them all. My twin brother, daughter, family and friends, brothers killed in war....and the list seems to go on...
Again there was no cake, no candles, no singing, but my birthday wish was the same, no matter how futile.
I hope some day....I find out where all the love goes.

29 years since I lost mine. Still cry. I will forever remember where I was when I first heard this. Was driving... As the song went on I clearly remember saying "Wow" twice.... The first was "I miss my father everyday. The kind of pain I pray don't fade away." The second was " I don't feel like crying, but I still just keep crying." I am still amazed by this song, and the chills still come with it!

Lost my pops to brain cancer as well, lucky for me i was fairly young so it did not hit me as hard as it would now. Less lucky is my mother had to raise me and my three brothers all by herself. But she did it, and we made it. It all ends up good for good peope, and whatever you're going trough right now i just pray wont be strong enough to keep you from seing and enjoying the good parts of life! God bless friend :)
Lost my dad 2017 from a rare virus, lost my mom to cancer at 21. I would did anything to hear these words and song when I was at my darkest hours. This song helps me actually start to grieve. No parents, went thru a divorce and all I really had was me to pull myself off the floor and fight back against my loneliness.

Never in my half a century on this Earth have I ever had a song effect me so profoundly. The heartache & sorrow from losing my sister was almost more than I could carry until I heard this song. Never once had I ever thought about it like this, yet as soon as I heard this song, I felt this weight lift off of me. I've had so many people tell me that I just need to move on & get over it. Now I welcome those feelings because it means I remember her, our time together, the bond we shared. I spend time with her on memory lane - sometimes with tears and other times with laughter. My friend sent me a link to Stephen’s cover of Stand By Me and I was so impressed and moved that I went looking for more and this song’s title caught my attention. The song and the performance itself surpassed the title.
My dad is currently in a bad way with lung cancer. I was heading home to be with him the day I got sent the link. Songs like Hometown, Father’s Son, Hang in There and this one are so relevant to everything that’s going on right now that it feels like I was meant to find this album when I did. It’s become the soundtrack to the last week or so of my life and at times has made me cry, but it’s also given me hope. It feels like the most important album I’ve ever listened to. Fresh grief feels much different but that line, “I miss my father everyday, it’s the kind of pain I pray don’t fade away” is right on the money. I deeply loved my father. However, our relationship was definitely an horrible experience for well over 35 years and until he died. Now my grief of that is love that’s got nowhere to go.

I lost my dad nearly 20 years ago. Now I’m married, have 3 kids and I still find times where grief is overwhelming. Often it’s when I’d give anything just ask his advice on fixing something or a relationship issue. But I hear his words, his voice often.
