This. This music during the fake ending cutscene was what confirmed my love for this game for good. I have no words to describe how it makes me feel exactly, but all I can say is that the devs are geniuses. This is art.
All two of them. And one of them wrote the story while the other was in charge of the art. All the more impressive in my opinion. If you expand to include the sound-design/music: then it's only another two people.
@@juggernut1418 it's been like 2 months, so you probably already know, but just in case I'll tell you about it: Besides this ending there are other 4 of them i think, one with Die Toteninsel playing on the background is fake because the game doesn't really end there. I haven't really finished the game myself but I'm loving it and i hope this helps you.
"You have a promise to fulfill" I was told by the friend who recommended this game to me. I wish he hadn't. I am incapable of reading or hearing the word CYCLE in any of its synonyms anymore without this song resonating in my thoughts. Whenever I feel something is about to go wrong again, or that my endeavors are pointless, I hear this. It's such a beautiful take on melancholy and hopelessness. Always reminding me of everything I want to forget. 10/10 experience, will cry 2 hours straight... again...

I feel the same. I feel like this is a ,,once in a lifetime" type of game. In my eyes, it will never get beaten by any other game. None other game sent me to some weird type of mental state. God bless SIGNALIS and Rose-Engine devs for this beautiful experience.
This game fucked me up so bad. I got the Leave ending first time through. I dunno if it was peak depression or what, but everytime i hear this piano, i can't help but feel a deep lonelyness and sadness. But at the same time, knowing the endings, im just glad they got to be togeather again in one form or another.
This feels like it actually touched my soul, every time this song plays in my head I feel both sadness but joy at the same time knowing that Elstr and Ariane got to dance together one last time even if it was beyond space and time.
The music pairs so well with how the story unfolds. Every single time I hear the piano, its somber tune, I start to feel feelings I've never thought I was capable of feeling. Emptiness is truly a perfect descriptor of this song, as well as the game. Never before has a game instilled such feelings in me before. Mere pixels, sure, but what laid behind them was what stuck deeply with me. I came looking for tall android waifu, stayed for the master-craft story, and cried for what was never meant to be. 10/10 game, perhaps a game of similar caliber will never be created. Perhaps, this is truly hell.

it's one in the morning, I have school in the morning, I'm ugly crying because this game is so god damn beautiful and more people need to experience it. 100/10
What i loved about Signalis wasn't only the horror aspect or the visuals, but the underlying tragedy between Elster and Arianne. SPOILERS BELOW: Arianne accepting the mission to go to a different, unknown planet, just to get away from the abuse due to being different in some minor things. And with Elster with her, for a moment it felt like a tiny escape between the two where they can be at peace. And then it all falls apart in a horrific way. The ship's radiation poisons her, and she's forced to stay bedridden. And what's worse, she can't seem to die and her drifting memories alter the rest of the crew. We, as Elster, can only put her out of her misery by killing her (the promise she made to Arianne). All while the strange planet itself also warps the station into a place similar to Silent Hill.
this game made me realize how ive yet to know how it feels to truly love someone. the feeling of love so strong that you would fight through hell and back for, like elster did for arianne the entirety of the game. all i feel is a void in my soul, waiting for someone else to come fill it for me
This Soundtrack is incredibly weird. I dont quite understand why or what but it really creates a strange feeling inside or maybe multiple feelings. Its comforting, eerie, strange, sad, lonely... its overwhelming. Its relaxing yet i cant relax while listening to it. Its literally giving out vibes that oppose each other thats how good this track is.
A game i finished in 10 hours made me cry where some games i put 100 hours in didn't, a true masterpiece, we didn't needed a happy ending, all we needed was a tragedy.
"Lamb, tell me a story." "There was once a pale man who was very lonely." "Why was it lonely?" "All things must meet this man, so they shunned him." "Did he chase them off?" "He took an axe and split himself in two, right down the middle." "So he would always have a friend?!" "So he would always have a friend..."
This is the most beautiful thing I've come across. I love the reworking of Rachmaninoff's work into this type of somber piano sound. The people who made this ost deserve an award
Experiencing the tragic story and characters of SIGNALIS is probably something i will never forget, this is truly the pinnacle of what the gaming medium can provide, just pure emotions. This track has an ominous and sweet and sour feeling, i dont know how to describe it fits perfectly with the story ... anything for the promise.
My God, this track is so cool, but at the same time sad, because when I listen to this melody, tears start coming into my eyes, as if I really experienced someone's death
To me this song paints a picture in my head, the vast emptiness of space (from the ambiental part of the song), and when the instruments kick in, the beauty of the nebulas, what's wrong with me 😭
I get this is based on classical music, but it feels very... Yumi Nikki. The sadness of this game reminds me a lot of how devastated I was at the end of Matsuro Palette. I hope for a game set in the same universe. I really do. Signalis's universe is very interesting. I think the page on Elster and Ariane, alongside Leng's mine have closed though simply due to the nature of the game being based on mystery. Oddly nice when building shelves.
For a fictional universe, this one hit me right in the feels... Even as a Christian, even I know that these two deserved better. The music just hits you in the heart where it HURTS... I just can't man. The story goes far beyond eldritch horrors, but about two who were wronged by the regime they served under.
this song stuck in my head since the first time i heard it and whenever i think of signalis i start hearing these piano and low ambient sounds, this is perhaps my most favorite ost in the whole game and the one i have and will remember by heart forever ❤ thank you Yuri and Barbara, and everyone who was involved in production for this wonderful experience
I absolutely refuse to beleive there isnt a hidden, happy 6th ending. Why does everything in the game relate to 6 but there's only 5 endings? Its driving me mad
I still can’t, I’ll never forget…… This pain This sadness This comes once ever so many years in art. Be glad we have this. Let the pain wrap around you, feel it. And never forget the promise that was made. Never forget this beautiful OST.
I have a bit of a problem with my funeral song. This sounds really well and actually almost made me cry while it played in the cutscene, but I have a bit of a struggle with Trackmania Nations/United Forever menu theme, because I play that game since I can remember and I have many beautiful memories on that game. Sometimes when I hear that menu theme, I just get memories which are making me sad. This ending theme is also a beautiful I would call symphony. Reminds me of the fact that there will be the end one day. A day when you will lose everything and leave this place to some, if even any, different world.
The fake ending sequence is straight up one of the best cutscenes I've ever seen. This soundtrack and the overall execution of the cutscene (which borrows prime Studio SHAFT's style) actually made me think the game ended right then and there, with me (the player) and Elster being unable to reach whatever we were trying to, and actually giving up. For once, I'm glad I got baited. This game is definitely something else. It can get restrictive at times and it may not be that innovative, but the ambience, the mystery and the game's aesthetic really make it worth it.
It bamboozled me so hard i thought it actually ended and quit it. I regret it because i jumped on yt for explanations and after getting spoilers i finally understood the game didn't end
@@Edward-xj6yk Yeah, it happens. All of us got fooled by it, but I personally felt something was off and decided to "begin again". I definitely wasn't expecting a whole another section, that's for sure.
Before I started this game, I was obsessed with it's usage of Raindrop. I loved it so much and thought that song was so closely tied to the game that I accepted it as the overall mood I would probably be entering into when I played it. Yet, it really shouldn't be a surprise that it was this instead. Just as this painting shows up so frequently throughout the story, why shouldn't the song named after it be just as fitting to the overall themes and events of the story. I think it's perfect that Raindrop's feature in the soundtrack appears under the title of 'The Promise.' It feels like something final; a heavy weight finally moving to release, as we see given it's usage at the end of the game. Each progression of chords hitting the strings feels like Elster's heavy steps down the hallway towards Falke's chamber, towards the Gate, towards the Penrose-512 one final time. There is a finality in it, a sense of progression however heavy it might be, a gradual crescendo towards release at last. Towards peace, an end. Die Toteninsel's feels, well...Empty. It is emptiness. It is a lingering, rolling sound. A somberness circling the drain, searching, longing for a final escape, yet never to find it. Ever lost in repeating scenery. Ariane is desperately trying to find the cycle where Elster can make it to her chamber, with all the answers and all of her memories and at last the ability to make good on their promise. But is that promise even a reality? Is it even an ending? Whether she is able to make good on her promise or not, Elster collapses beside the cryopod in the same position as when she returns yet again, ripping apart the armor to patch herself up yet again. All the while as life leaves her, it is this song that plays. A song of lingering, of longing, and drowning emptiness. Only two endings seemingly break from this cycle, and are notably free of this accompanying theme. Does that make them canon? Does that break the cycle? Or does it only prove to be stray cycles in a never ending loop as Ariane has long been absorbed into whatever hellish nightmare might come close to comprehending her nature as The Red Eye?
Haven’t played Signalis yet so I won’t spoiler myself anything but just wanna say that the atmosphere this game gives off with both its OST, Art-style & environments is REALLY fucking cool and I’m loving listening to the OST.

This melody is just how i had to calm myself down before it just balanced everything i had in my mind ... I still listen to this and remember those memories, i have never felt so lonely before
This game made me feel things I didn’t want to feel. I remember trying to go to sleep after finishing it, but I just couldn’t. I stared out my window, asking myself why I put myself through this, all while Die Toteninsel played on a loop. I am broken, I am shattered, but I’m glad I played this game.
This game refuses to leave my head.
What a masterpiece.
remember our promise.
just completed the promise ending, i didn't think i'd be crying over the game all over again but those last moments just destroyed me. genuinely one of the best games i've played in years
Rose engine I 👏 you for this game very well done 👏 ✔️ I want more from them their a talented team 👏
Wait...this is the fake? How many are there
@@juggernut1418 it's been like 2 months, so you probably already know, but just in case I'll tell you about it:
Besides this ending there are other 4 of them i think, one with Die Toteninsel playing on the background is fake because the game doesn't really end there. After the credits are over, when you are sent back to the main menu, Elster now looks dead and her eye looks like it lost its light. You have to press the continue option. At first it looks like you're starting the game all over again but if you keep going you'll quickly realize that a lot has changed.
I haven't really finished the game myself but I'm loving it and i hope this helps you.
i feel like they are in hell its an endless LOO[P@@kmilo1801
This game brought back the feeling of experiencing a Silent Hill for the first time after finishing the four core games, and I’m so grateful for that.
I can't take this song off my head. Haven't cried like that with a game in a long time.
This is so cool, dude. I'm getting all the chills.
Now with roughly 8 times the big sad!
* sobs in a corner *
A conflagration of two takes a universe of cosmic emptiness.
10/10 experience, will cry 2 hours straight... again...
A song I could listen to while taking my last breath. Thank you!
Edit:
After finishing the game I feel empty inside it's like watching a good show come to an end. 10/10 Game
A song to listen to while talking your "last breath"...
Considering where this plays in the game...
The aiming and combat, item slot space and puzzles tho ☹🤮🤮😫 jkjk this is my favourite game of all time. A beautiful piece of art
Try NieR: Automata and or SOMA if you liked Signalis!
This feels like it actually touched my soul, every time this song plays in my head I feel both sadness but joy at the same time knowing that Elstr and Ariane got to dance together one last time even if it was beyond space and time.
*I won't forget our promise.*
Angel`s Egg - animation of similar calibre from 1985
I love music like this. Its soo, melancholic. It evokes feelings of a time long gone when I was happy, that's faded by time. Very beautiful.
Amazing. I think i should also buy the game now
after finishing shit game this song always makes me feel a deep sadness for the characters in the game. such a beautiful game.
Very true, Dick Piano.
So damn emotional. This ost is a pure magic
it's one in the morning, I have school in the morning, I'm ugly crying because this game is so god damn beautiful and more people need to experience it. 100/10
What i loved about Signalis wasn't only the horror aspect or the visuals, but the underlying tragedy between Elster and Arianne.
SPOILERS BELOW:
Arianne accepting the mission to go to a different, unknown planet, just to get away from the abuse due to being different in some minor things.
This song encapsulates what I can only imagine as the terrifying feeling of forgetting while trying to grasp to yourself and reality
this game made me realize how ive yet to know how it feels to truly love someone. the feeling of love so strong that you would fight through hell and back for, like elster did for arianne the entirety of the game. all i feel is a void in my soul, waiting for someone else to come fill it for me

I know right!!!
A game i finished in 10 hours made me cry where some games i put 100 hours in didn't, a true masterpiece, we didn't needed a happy ending, all we needed was a tragedy.
for those who dont know Die Toteninsel is German for The isle of the dead
This was the video that ultimately made me buy Signalis. I wasn't quite ready for when it played in-game.
-Kindred, League of Legends :')
this just came up in my auto play and im not sure what led to me being here but its really nice. Thanks
its from a game called signalis, really recommend!! its super duper sad though. like crazy sad.
This is the most beautiful thing I've come across. I love the reworking of Rachmaninoff's work into this type of somber piano sound. The people who made this ost deserve an award
I now have one of the renditions of this painting in my bedroom just over my headboard because of this game.
This game is a masterpiece. It got lost, drifting through time, through space... flesh, becoming an island in a see of emptiness in a new decade.
I’m really glad to know I’m not the only grown man left crying over this game

Alone,
At the edge of the universe;
Humming a tune.
For a fictional universe, this one hit me right in the feels... Even as a Christian, even I know that these two deserved better. The music just hits you in the heart where it HURTS... I just can't man. The story goes far beyond eldritch horrors, but about two who were wronged by the regime they served under.
What does “even as a Christian” mean in the context of this game

metal gear solid 1 was my favorite game of all time. i think signalis took his place. it took 15 years for another game to assume this place.
this song stuck in my head since the first time i heard it and whenever i think of signalis i start hearing these piano and low ambient sounds, this is perhaps my most favorite ost in the whole game and the one i have and will remember by heart forever ❤ thank you Yuri and Barbara, and everyone who was involved in production for this wonderful experience
I absolutely refuse to beleive there isnt a hidden, happy 6th ending. Why does everything in the game relate to 6 but there's only 5 endings? Its driving me mad

I want this to play at repeat at my funeral
I have a bit of a problem with my funeral song. This sounds really well and actually almost made me cry while it played in the cutscene, but I have a bit of a struggle with Trackmania Nations/United Forever menu theme, because I play that game since I can remember and I have many beautiful memories on that game. Sometimes when I hear that menu theme, I just get memories which are making me sad. This ending theme is also a beautiful I would call symphony. Reminds me of the fact that there will be the end one day. A day when you will lose everything and leave this place to some, if even any, different world.
It's only me or there are a really quiet and relaxing ASMR feeling with mains SIGNALIS'S musics ?
Could hear this OST for hours just for relax...
I will put this on repeat till all the sorrows in my frontal-lobe undergo gestalt decomposition.

How can a fictive promise hold so much weight to it? Why does this promise hurt me so much when I'm almost completely numbed to most suffering around me?
