Has the Dyuynov hub-motor failed? 2022

Many of you have asked, «Where are hub-motors? Why have you stopped working on them?»
The answer is: the hub-motor is not forgotten, work on it continues, and new patents are being obtained.
The first successful casting of the hub-motor rotor with aluminium took place on 21 June.
For the record:
The Kolobok 318 hub-motor has undergone a lot of tests: its windings were poured with water at exhibitions in Monaco, it was run at enormous speeds while riding in rain and mud, experiments on motocross trails were carried out. What's important is that the hub-motor still works because of the knowledge and skills of Sovelmash experts.
Previously, Sovelmash engineers designed the world's first induction hub-motor. It is based on the Slavyanka combined windings technology. This hub-motor was one of the implementation projects of the technology. Engineers demonstrated the feasibility of the technology and a number of its advantages.
The rotor for it consisted of copper and electrical steel laminations and was made using a rather expensive technology. Thanks to the work carried out on the leased premises, particularly in the foundry shop, Sovelmash experts mastered the technology of casting the squirrel cage rotors with aluminium.

Afterwards, thanks to the equipment placed on the leased premises, Sovelmash experts were able to implement mass production technology which is aluminium casting of the rotor assembled from sections.
