Thanks! Our Taigo Match arrives on Friday. I’m sure the match has adaptive cruise control which is a plus 😃.
How was the gear change after changing the oil , much better?
it ''feels'' smoother. Going in gear easier. It's hard to explain it without experiencing it 🤔
Love the videos! I asked you about removing the roof rails a while ago, will now ask you about the side mirrors - there seems to be a version of the GH with light diode blinkers on the side mirrors, think only in USA and JP. Do you think it would be possible to install side mirrors with blinkers on a version of the car that doesn't have them? I have no idea where to get that info from, apart from disassembling and inspecting the connectors of the side mirrors, but if it's possible I would say that is a good visual upgrade for the GH
The roof rail video removal is in the resource assembling stage, to a full roof rail delete video will be coming out in future. I don't see a reason why they wouldn't fit, only problem you will need to splice in one of the turn signal wires to activate the side mirror bulbs
@@KlavsX_ Excited for that video! I meant if the connector on the GH without side mirror bulbs would be ready for side mirrors with bulbs, without any splicing needed. Might disassemble and check it with a multimeter to find out (I have no idea what type of connector is even on there though)
The only problem is, the mirrors and how they attach to the doors '' should be'' identical. Only extras would be 2 or 1 wire for the turn signal. That is concerning the mirror itself. To power the turn signal on the mirror is a different story.
What a freakin pain. Mazda sure dropped the ball on this design.
😅 It is pain. Sadly not, the newest /2015 as far I know, is almost the same. But I could be wrong.... 🤔 I hope I am
To keep credit cards 😮😮
🤔 That's why cruise control exists? 🤔
I've got to do the rear calipers on mine, i've got a bleed kit, a Gunson eezibleed (if it fits the reservoir) from years ago working on my kitcar, where changed front calipers on that, but it's a bit different when it's your every day car. I've got a clamp too, for clamping off the lines to stop the fluid dripping out, but i've got a feeling these brake lines won't like being squashed.
😅 it all depends how old and mailable are the lines. IF they are hard and don't wanna bend, you can break them or split them. Best way is a fast swap, from old to new caliper, so you lose minimum amount of fluid
Better stick with Mazda. They know how to do it right. 😂😂
😏 You win some, you lose some, this BMW lost a lot. Mostly all the tension in the chain xD
6:51 the right button is not lane assist but for turning on and off the collision avoidance radar, the radar emitter is mounted on top of the front window under the rear view mirror. It also comes standard with a forward facing camera that is scanning the road profile so that the head lights that each emit 3 movable light beams who automatically follow the contours of the road with the foglight on the inside of the corner automatically turning on in tight corners for that little extra visibility. You can't blind an oncoming driver with an Avensis, it also comes with an auto high beam setting that cuts the high beam as soon as the camera spots an oncoming driver. (I own the 1.8l Sport Touring Avensis it also came with the full panoramic glass roof :))
Thank you for the info, that will explain most of the things I didn't catch. Awesome, I wanna a panoramic glass roof that is cool.
It works on my 2011 Mazda 6, except for DAB+. Does anyone have any ideas? Do I need to buy a special antenna?
Nice. For me I had to buy and splice in a separate module, that the head unit did come with
@@KlavsX_ Ok, thank you very much for the information. 😊 Dare I ask which splice you're buying?
You are welcome. I can't find the right one I bought, I searched on ebay DAB + amplifier box for android head unit. Should be a USB plug at 1 end and a antenna you can attach to the A pillar at other. The brand I got works really well
Great ! Thank you.😊
Perfect!
👌
A great detailed video 10/10. I recommend wearing a mask when you remove rusty stuff as it’s no good for you.
I usually have a fan blow on me / on the part I work, so all the ''crap'' flys away. ( As long as the fan isn't in the way for recording) 99% fan is in the way and doesn't help at all. 😅 100% correct rust, dust and w/e flys off the car parts isn't good for you or your lungs.
Cheers for the shoutout Klavs . Glad the pdfs helped :D
Thanks' for the PDF's they saved me from destroying the covers fully :D
Nice!
👌
Legend! can't wait to try this weekend, thank you!
Good luck and hope the plastic tabs will be kinder to you 😅
Liftback and Wagon have the same seat set-up, both front and back, hands the rear seatbelts are located in the seat itself.
Thank you for the info. 👍 This video will be useful for more people than just wagons owners 👌
This car is very idiot.😕
😅 They did over-engineer the estates
Hi Klavs, I have a Mazda 6 Atenza 2015 GJ model with the message "Keyless system malfunction" on my dashboard, what can I do?
Hi. I don't know about the GJ models, but you should plug in a scan tool to see the actual problem. ( trouble code) Keyless system have multiple sub-systems ( receivers, antennas, sensors, and more). Can be as simple as: the key battery is low to 1 antenna has gone bad. Without a scan tool, it's a guessing game
Please make a video on how to change the signal bulbs for front and rear. Thanks 😀
👍 That shouldn't be to hard
does the 3.7 have EGR?
Most modern cars have a EGR, that are petrol or diesel. EV and maybe older cars without emissions control don't have EGR's.
Hello! Do I need the same calliper piston set for brake job on the front side to push the pistons back? Thank you!
You can use the same, but make sure that No tabs are coming in contact with the piston. The tabs can damage the piston and you will need to replace the piston
Please be aware that if / when Klavs does this job, There are big differences between the, 4 Door Saloon, 5 Door Hatchback and what we have here, The Estate (Wagon).
100%, if I'm not wrong only Estates / wagons have the rear seatbelts in the seat
Klavs my friend. What is your aim with the seatbelt? If its just to clean then I would say dont go further with removing the backseat cover. You can use hot steam to remove any dirt from your seatbelt. I dont want to see you go through so much trouble just to be able to remove the seatbelt. Its not worth it really. Just my 2 cents. God bless you.
i will stop before i start :)))
😅 Can't lie, that did happen a couple of times for me, before I got to this situation.
I see you're stuck at the same point as me, mine is unfortunately broken so I need to remove it to put a new one in but unsure of how to remove the padding on the seat
Ah, so yours is damaged or just full with debris. I got you 👍
Yes would like to see how to remove rear seat belt for this vehicle. I have a rear seat belt stuck extended which won't retract back inside.
Got you, stuck or the tensioner is full with debris and clogged up the system.
I have same problem. I unstacked it from rear and made a knock on seatbelt so seatbelt can't go back inside. Now I can put down rear bench but i can't use that seatbelt. Please do it if you now how to fix it permanently.
I will make the video on how to remove the seat belt from the seat. The rest is up to you. As I don't have a spare seat belt I can tear apart and analyze it
Do you already have the service manual? If not i could send you a link.
I don't have the service manual. That would be great, so less things get damaged 😅
@@KlavsX_ Has been sent
Thank you 👍
What is the problem in car after you done ? What happened ? Mazda need programing ?
In simpler terms, the cars system lost the key code / password. So I had to use the scan tool, to erase the codes and force the car to scan for the key again
Yes i want to See how remove real seat belt
1 vote UP 👍
Just out of curiosity. Did you find the issue as to why the car didn’t start ?
Yes. Car lost the key signal / key password
can you check by your vin number in catalogue what part number of pcv valve suppose to be in your car? Im asking because in mine is L356-13-890 by catalogue but is impossible to by it, L3K9-13-890 looks same and maybe was same story in your case ?(it could confirm that those the same but with different part number)
The original one was L3K9-13-890, but if you want original one, only places to get them From Mazda, or buy from Japan. You don't find the original PCV valve on the usual websites.
Genial 🎉🎉
🎊👍🎊
Hi Klavs✌🏼 Nice Video!😅 I hope you're doing well!😉 I have a question, how many liters does your Mazda consume per 100 km? I would be really interested. I drive the Mazda 6 gh 2.5 GH 2008 170 HP sedan. Mine uses 9.4 liters in urban areas. I have now ordered an additive from Liqui Moly: Injection Cleaner. Maybe you would like to test the product and make a review video about it. Supposedly you can save gas after using it. Best regards from Germany! Michael
Hi Michael. Thank you, I'm good. How are you? I haven't checked in the city, but the speed limit (120 km/h) on the highway it's doing 7.5 l/100km. So in the city, I would say, sounds about right 9 to 9.4. There is one catch with the Injector cleaner. If your injectors are clean that cleaner won't do anything. There is a better way of testing that. to remove them from the engine and do a '' flow test'' with them. Then after the injector cleaner round do it again, and see if there is a difference in the flow of the fuel and athe mount of fuel.
Finally a video with the same calipers as mine................ Same problem too, no grease on the slide pins or the pads, brakes sticking after a few miles, lovely burning smell when I park my car. All done now, but a little bit worried about the caliper piston, might have rust behind the seal? :/
Oh, if you can smell burning from brakes it's pretty bad news. ( if the piston rubber/seal doesn't have a hole where dirt/ water get inside the seal, then it all should be fine) You need to inspect the seal for cracks, holes or defects. I hope you changed your brake discs and pads!
@@KlavsX_ No, that's a job I plan for better weather. I needed to inspect and re-grease everything, the car is 2012 and very low mileage, so a lot of things like this haven't been looked at for many years. Both wheels had to be hammered off with a mallet, the pads wouldn't come out without some force, the pistons had some rust on them, but the outer seals looked ok, there is a shim missing from the inner pad on the passenger side rear, but that's just to reduce noise. I will know on Monday if anything has improved!
I see. Yeah, there are two ways to go. More wallet friendly is to pull everything apart, clean and grease it up and see how it does. The other one would be buy new discs/ pads / pins and caliper rebuild kit. Obviously that will hit the wallet quiet hard.
i was not long time a go when you change that PCV valve, do you remember / or can you check if there is a air pressure coming from oil cap and dipstick while engine is running? i am slightly suspicion that this valve might be a reason why i have air blowing out those two places.
Ah blow-by. PCV is usually the suspect, but it could the breather hoses, or the engine is leaking combustion. That I have to check, if my cars engine got blow-by
Thank you!
You are welcome
So, did the squealing go away?
Yes, it did go away
@@KlavsX_ Thanks, I asked because at 4:55 I noticed the piston is not at the right position. As you can see, there are 2 indents on the piston, in the video, they are shown at 10 o'clock and 4 o'clock position. This should be at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock. The reason for this is, the pad has a little hump sticking out and by setting it to 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock ensures the piston meets the pad and applies pressure evenly at the same time avoid future squealing or parking brake auto adjustment issues. Some pads do not have this dimple then won't matter too much but most do, so care is needed when winding the piston in.
Thank you for the information.👍 I don't know why or how, but for me, the hump is facing outside, not the caliper. Looks like the previous mechanic or whoever did the brakes mixed things up if the hump was meant to be at the back. ( as the brake pads are worn in this setup). I was taught, that if you do a brake job and do not change to new pads and discs, you need to put in the pads from where you took them, so you don't get rubbing or weird break issues.
@@KlavsX_ Some mechanics have little understanding of how things work, especially in the UK. My car, same one as yours, when I first got it had the record of the previous owner taking it to a national chain that commonly deals with tyres and exhaust to have the brake jobs done at the cost of whopping £1100. Despite this, the rear brakes squealed, pins were not lubricated and the piston was in the wrong position resulting in uneven wear of the pads. This place that did brakes, it even had two technician's signature as if to say it was double checked!!
Holy Sh*t, 1.1 k for a break job 😅 Did they read the logo wrong and thought it was an Audi RS?😂 That is one of the reasons why I started DIY fixing my own car. It's almost ''impossible'' to find a good mechanic who doesn't wanna charge extra or literally rip you off. Good mechanics do exist, but they are rare. I have no record of previous repairs or services for my car.
Hi are you happy with the radio? does it have a Bose system in the car?
Yes, it got the full Bose system, with the sub in the rear. No, I wish I bought a different unit. To many cons for the money. This model has 2 or 4 GB of ram ( Really slow on booting Up and feels like an old android tablet) No software/Android updates from company. Once I connected the unit to internet connection, it installed so many updates it became unusable. You can't clear the notifications from the list. Otherwise pretty good, plenty of add-on ports for the unit, works with the steering wheel controls.
Hi Klavs.......... Great "How-To" video on the PCV replacement Is this a common problem on the M3 + M6 with that engine...? Would you advise....... If the engine idles well & fuel consumption is fine. Would you advise the PCV is still working..? My GY-wagon is up to 200k km & am reading a few stories about the PCV sticking open or closed
Hi. From the information you told me I would say that it's fine ...., BUT these aren't the only symptoms of a failing PCV valve. Check for oil leaks. Check if the oil looks good ( no discoloration or bad smell). Check, when you accelerate, the engine isn't hissing or whistling. Check the exhaust smoke, if it isn't coming out in a weird color. Trouble starting the engine. Then you will be aware, in what state the PCV valve is in.
How did you take off that big ring thats on the new 02 sensor ? Mines wont fit in the manifold hole could it be the threads or simply as removing the big ring ?
Don't waste your time with the big ring. If the new sensor doesn't have it, leave it that way. ( I destroyed my sensor that way). Sounds like, it's the wrong sensor, it should slide in and thread on the same way I did in the video. Check your old and new sensor threads and size, if they are the same. I wasn't aware Mazda makes bigger-size sensors for the car...
thumbs up!

Really apreciate what you are doing, only channel with detailed explanation for this car. Greetings from another 6 owner from Croatia
👍 Glad the videos can help you. 👌 That is sad, that I'm the only one doing detailed Mazda videos. There are plenty of engine and body types of Mazdas in the world.
I got same car and engine. I notice that when I check coolant level in radiator when engine is cold, that it isn’t at the very top. It requires about two cups to become to the brim/ very top or if I start the engine it rises after few minutes to top. Have you seen this? I assume it is because the overflow bottle is not level with the top of the cap, but top of the radiator body. It doesn’t overheat ever.
As long as the coolant level is between full and empty line it's all good. You are correct it is a overflow bottle (coolant reservoir) So the car can take or dump the coolant it need to operate. You need to look if the overflow bottle is totally full or fully empty, that spells trouble.
@ I noticed the thin hose from radiator top to coolant overflow bottle was loose where it connect to radiator. So I fixed the clamp. Hopefully this solves the issue of lower radiator coolant level. I think that as it pressure and let some coolant out, that when it cools it probably draw in some air.
if the oil in engine is looking good and no coolant coming out of the exhaust then probably. But that's a guess
Do you have a light on every button for a windows and side mirrors control panel on the door or its just a button for the drivers window illuminated?
Only for the windows ( all 4 switched) the rest isn't illuminated
Thank you!
You are welcome
Hi Klavs I think I’m suffering with parasitic draw as battery not good at holding cranking amps. Can you tell me if the voltage regulator is within the alternator or separate somewhere else? Mazda 6 ts2 2011 2.2 diesel Thanks .
Hi Barry. Voltage regulator is on the alternator / built in.
