- No qualifying on Day 4 of TT 2024 due to a non-racing road traffic accident. Chris and Tom used the time to catch up on all things Sidecar, whilst Lee caught up with the fastest man of the TT so far - Davey Todd.

Lee is doing a great job! With not riding this year and switching to the other side of the camera, he's doing a great job.
Davy Todd's in helmet camera footage of qualifying practice is the best I've ever seen for the reality and skill of these competitors .Good luck and Safe home. Cheers 👍

Agree Tom is doing a great job all round and his insight into the sidecars is elevating that discipline, for me anyway. Commentry this year is spot on not forgetting they should always save a place for davo if he ever wants to again.

Music a little bit lower much better but could be cut completely.
Tom has surprised me with his insightful comments and natural timing. Keep him on the broadcast team. Lee is still a racer, put him back on his bike for more TT wins!

Tom is a natural and doing a great job. I met Ben when I showed him how F1 cars set their suspension for bumpy tracks so have followed the brothers progress. but Tom has found a new career. Bravo.

So, out of curiosity, and being that in some of these interviews and discussions, they are talking the difference of average MPH (what I'll refer to as MPHa) for the course and at other times being seconds behind. Generally speaking, in closed circuit racing we are talking lap times, often in the 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, and rarely mention average lap times. I thought I'd crunch a few numbers and share the results...
So, I first compare the difference between doing a 134 MPHa with a 135 MPHa, just the diff. of 1 MPHa.
The lap times are for :135 MPHa 16.7689 minutes..
134 MPHa 16.894 minutes.
Difference: ................. 0.125 minutes or 7.5 seconds.
With an assumption
of 150 MPH crossing
the finish line.............. 150 MPH = 220.005 ft. sec.
The slower bike
would be .....................1650 ft. behind, or 0.3125 mi. or basically 1/3 of a mile. (220.005 ft. x 7.5 sec. = 1650 ft.)
Tom is excellent.

Interesting mix of performances throughout the whole practice week and all the different category's of bikes.
one thing i have always wondered is how come the riders don't wear a "balaclava"? surely for safety a fire resistant balaclava should be a requirement? also to stop any unwanted insects / debris hitting on the riders necks etc. look what happened to Guy Martin when he walked out of a fireball of a crash. maybe someone knows an answer to this question.

how are lap times 1.33, etc? Isn't it 37 miles round? Was thinking they'd be like 17 minutes or whatever...
They're talking about average lap speed - 133mph etc. The top boys are sub-17 mins for a lap now at full tilt.

I bloody know I do, it feels like racing though! And it sounds more emotive than… “are we going qualifying tonight” no shots from smythies nans garage but I did hear Ricky Carmichael was down there a few nights ago!
Great content and great pro commentators. But like others have said, do we have to have piano music constantly playing in the background when they speak? Not mixed well and super distracting from good details.
Loving the updates, but who's idea is the annoying background sounds (when trying to talk to DT for instance)? What's that all about? That aside, still looking forward to every day.
