Hey Jake. Pushing myself to get out tomorrow down around Marco Shell point. Heat has been zapping me.OHhhh jumping for the camera. Nice catch. Good to see you out scoring big. Take care of yourself. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, this time of year in S. Florida is brutal, but the fishing can be great and there are fewer people on the water. Have fun, that area can be productive.
Thanks Jacob. They sure are. It is also where I catch the biggest redfish most consistently in this area. This was one of the few times I didn't get a redfish.
@@jakewkayakfishing8457 I’ve really only fished artificial but last year there were two guys on shore beside me with a cast net and 5 gallon bucket, no aerator, cart, etc. They would cast net a few bait that looked like a shad then fish those then net a few more. They caught some nice fish and I’m wanting to put that technique into practice. I’m somewhat a minimalist do that would fit my fishing style I think.
Jake good to see all is well and your back on the water.. came down for 10 days.. fished off shore.. did well a red snapper.. try the yak didn’t do nearly as good as you .. lol be back in the fall
Thanks Mambo. I can't wait to get back out there. I have been really busy lately, but I do have some recent footage that I just haven't had time to edit yet. I will post it soon.
Sorry for the late reply. My health caught up with me again and I am recovering from a big surgery. My rod holder is a YakAttack Zooka. I think the model I have is discontinued and replaced with the Zooka 2, which uses the new lock and load base. I have that base on my camera mount and fishfinder mount and really like it, so have thought of upgrading the rod holder too.
I usually launch right across the road from the dog beach on lover's key. You can also launch on the south side of Little Carlos Pass or from the north side of Big Hickory Pass.
Hey Jake: We've missed ya. Glad to see you're back on the water enjoying the good life.
Thanks John, it was good to be on the water.
Glad you're back and doing well. Great video as always. Thanks for bringing us along.
Yeah, it's been too long. It felt good to get out on the water.

Nice man! I have been fishing out there for some time now. The trout, snook and mangroves out there are phenomenal.

@@jakewkayakfishing8457 I will say you are the slayer at catching reds. I love your videos! Very exciting and interesting at the same time!
Nice Jake. I wade fish near that area in the winter. It’s fun to see it from your kayak perspective.
Cool, there are some nice flats to wade fish around there.

Nice, Red Snapper will put a bend in your rod.
Wow great been a very long time. Regards from Greece.
Thanks man, that snook was a nice welcome back.
Where have your videos been Jake! Miss seeing all the action in Estero from you. Hope all is good.

Welcome back Jake, Thanks for another nice video. No red tide in that area ? I live in the east coast.
No red tide here in the Naples area at the moment. It has been affecting the Sarasota and Tampa area recently though.
Hey man, nice video. i was curious what rod holder is on your yak?

How did you catch the pin fish?
I use tiny pieces of old gulp baits on a tiny gold hook. I explain the rig in this video: ua-cam.com/video/cM0OvMxtVkg/v-deo.html

Thanks! You going out this week?
We will see if the weather cooperates this weekend.
