Keep at it and slowly build up your oc. the modularity is what has done the most to bring down PC part prices. You could try fllipping the psu having the psu intake facing the cpu heatsink, make sure the cpu fan is blowing towards the psu. That way. the psu acts as an exhaust and the hot air would naturallly want to rise up and out the case through the vents, aiding airflow
I use this solution with my own gaming PC, and I confirm that my CPU temps are substantially lower than when I tried having my PSU face upwards (which I tested with the CPU fan both blowing and sucking). I had a couple centimeters between the CPU fan and PSU (for reference)

I have built the “No Compromise ITX computer”. I followed your formula except I used a 960 Pro M.2 drive and a single 1TB 2.5” Sata drive. The build went very well and stayed inside my $2000 budget. The panel selection was the same as yours. My computer is flat black with white supports. The cooling fan grill and vandal switch are white. In addition to the LEDs on the motherboard, The new Phanteks Halos digital LED fan lighting was carefully installed. I had to disassemble the unit, discarding the black case, and glue the lighting to the translucent cover. It was then attached to the back side of the fan with screws. The Z370i comes with a 3 pin to 4 pin adapter. It works good with the Asus Sync software. I assume your audience was for experienced persons looking to build a travel sized computer. Pay attention to small cables/small parts when assembling a mini pc, it's much more important to start with the more annoying small cables/small parts at first, like power cables, fan cables, your drives to make sure they're managed correctly before plugging in the PSU/GPU cables because you might need to take apart your system if you forgot to plug something in.

Practical and looks tactical and cool, the only thing that made me cringe was the CPU fan location, my brain cannot digest the air feeding in there , otherwise killer PC, keep it coming.
my first compact build was in the Thermaltake Core V1 and I must say that case was awesome, PSU + cables hidden on the bottom floor along with the HDDs and then on the topfloor you could fit almost any CPU cooler and any 2 slot GPU
This build looks extremely solid, Well done! The only thing I would replace is the grill next to the Power Button with some Fan Mesh and add some more Mesh on the inside of the case to make sure less dust gets sucked in there.
Yo Jay I know you said you don't see the point in custom cables BUT Ensourced.net makes some shorty cables that would give you more space inside the case afterwards.
That is such an adorable computer. @_@ I have only one complaint, no front panel usb. Realize with small case isn't hard to get to the back, however, if I ever have to plug things into the back of my itel nuc it is still a hassle and that thing is even smaller.
Man I love tiny builds like this, was once looking for a micro atx case and the dude selling it to me looked at me funny and was like "why would you sacrifice thermals and expand-ability for a smaller case" and I just said "because I can." Something about having all that power in a small inconspicuous box just gets my goat.

I would definitely do custom cabling for this rig. Would make a world of difference in keeping optimum airflow. I think I'm gonna build me this exact one. Thanks!
Enjoyed the video. Since you obviously have an interest in videography as well, can I offer a tip? If you'll use a smaller aperture on your lens, you won't have all those auto-focus issues . Your depth-of-field will be larger so you won't have the nice blurring effect we all like....but for a shot of someone assembling computer parts, you don't want any blur anyway. I would have enjoyed the video and found it less distracting if the camera hadn't been constantly fighting to focus. The audio was GREAT, though and it's obvious you know your stuff. Thanks for the video and I hope you don't mind the suggestion.
And here I was thinking small form factor PCs would be cheaper than normal or big form factor PCs. But seeing the prices for ITX mainborads made me go back to normal ATX and Micro-ATX PCs.
That is the most beautiful build but I wish I can afford it. Parts are so damn expensive nowadays. I have to purchase a couple years old nuc for my kids.

@@cunnyman ps3's are dirt cheap lol
J, great work man! This is going to be what my build is based off. Thanks very much for the video!
How's things going today? Still running it all day ~ still working without problems?Thinking about going this route for my HTPC / Gaming rig.
Yes, this is still my main rig. I have upgraded and added more storage since this vid. Everything is still working perfectly, no complaints.
Great video! Wishing for more unique SFF builds!
check out my 100% custom mini ITX build. i call it The Tesseract :-) ua-cam.com/video/yCdYZ4Rfgd4/v-deo.html
This guy actually did a sick ass build.
Practical and looks tactical and cool, the only thing that made me cringe was the CPU fan location, my brain cannot digest the air feeding in there , otherwise killer PC, keep it coming.
Have some faith in me man! It works, and it works well, trust me.
I would love to have this size pc
my first compact build was in the Thermaltake Core V1 and I must say that case was awesome, PSU + cables hidden on the bottom floor along with the HDDs and then on the topfloor you could fit almost any CPU cooler and any 2 slot GPU
only 40k subs? ridiculous. got my sub in under a minute
Nice gamecube content cop
SonicThunder I soon as I heard that theme I was like, wait, I'm not watching idubbbz
@@camwha5904 same what the fuck
This build looks extremely solid, Well done! The only thing I would replace is the grill next to the Power Button with some Fan Mesh and add some more Mesh on the inside of the case to make sure less dust gets sucked in there.
Yo Jay I know you said you don't see the point in custom cables BUT Ensourced.net makes some shorty cables that would give you more space inside the case afterwards.
Also going exclusively with M.2 storage would help to reduce cable clutter.
Leonardo Schefeer yep exactly why I picked up the Asus itx Ryzen motherboard because of the dual m.2
I am using m.2 storage... did you guys watch the video? Dual m.2 drives gentlemen.
Tek Everything lol yes Jay I watched it. I was just saying maybe some shorty cables would help save space & help with airflow
Here is the Ryzen Edition:
Ryzen 7 1700x
16gb G.skill Aegis 2400mhz
Rx570 mini 4gb
Biostar x370gtn.
Nice Vid
All of that is outdated, and why not use 32gb of faster ram?
Great content. Love how you just go straight into it- no 'whats up guys whats going on whats happening hope you doing good'
Very good build I'm amazed with the high components in this small case, and I subscribed for that
Me 2!!!
That is such an adorable computer. @_@ I have only one complaint, no front panel usb. Realize with small case isn't hard to get to the back, however, if I ever have to plug things into the back of my itel nuc it is still a hassle and that thing is even smaller.
You can add USB/Mic/Headphone ports in the customisation options when you are configuring your case
Yeah or just buy a cheap usb extension cable off ebay
This is one of the best pc’s I have ever seen
Oh an, custom cables CAN be justified in order to promote air flow
the cost? an arm and a liver
2 arms, 1 liver, 1 ear, and a toe
Tek Everything wait... which toe?
Don't forget your left nut too.
I added it all up. With a slight discount on some parts it added up to $1920. OOF
That's a busy unit. Very nice build with a snug fit. Awesome!
the biggest neck and the smallest pc case I have ever seen
...in the same video
Do you had any temperature issue? Because processor + GPU are too close.
I think the oversized heatsink on the CPU did the trick lol
ua-cam.com/video/VEb5x6Ijch8/v-deo.html
Man I love tiny builds like this, was once looking for a micro atx case and the dude selling it to me looked at me funny and was like "why would you sacrifice thermals and expand-ability for a smaller case" and I just said "because I can." Something about having all that power in a small inconspicuous box just gets my goat.
as of today,
this build = 2,242 $
this build with a GTX 1070 mini = 1,787 $
this build with a GTX 1060 mini = 1,622 $
this build with a GTX 1050 mini = 1,552 $
Would it be possible to have the GTX 1070 mini paired with an i5 8600k since it's somewhat cheaper?
Joshua Fernandez - still sounds pretty solid to me
what about now? :p
dope little build fam, nice work
2 plus to is 4, quick mafs
One of the fastest pc build i've seen and its pretty cute. Well done. Subscribed ur channel :)
I need that screwdriver.
Finally I found video that I cannot complain about. You did god job, god quality and profesional recording. What kind of MIc you use (BT) ?
What an awesome build! I love these mini-PC when maxed out. Reminds me of the USS Defiant from Star Trek Deep Space 9. It may be little but it packs a punch! Well done. Subscribed!
Haha, +1 for the Star Trek reference.
Thank you brother it’s a wonderful build now I got to build me one ☝️ Awesome 😎
450watt psu with an overclockable cpu and a gtx 1080....I feel this should be under powered
Gpu is around 200w. Maybe 125w for the cpu. 125w extra for all the other components
@@somedude2492 - using those estimates it would be running at 100% capacity
@@glennbarrera8353 i meant there's 125w for everything else, not that everything else will take that much power
I would definitely do custom cabling for this rig. Would make a world of difference in keeping optimum airflow. I think I'm gonna build me this exact one. Thanks!
Love your build. Please trim the fuzz off the end of that fan connector into da mobo! I'm not worthy, just obsessive! Lol
Great stuff, thanks. I don't do a lot of hardware. This was really clear.
Shorter cables = better airflow.
why 450watt if you want to overclock to 5ghz and running a 1080?
And here I was thinking small form factor PCs would be cheaper than normal or big form factor PCs. But seeing the prices for ITX mainborads made me go back to normal ATX and Micro-ATX PCs.
OK, 2700$ ITX PC, cool ... i'm crying now
just cause it's small doesnt mean it doesnt pack a punch 😉
I'd go with lower specs and make it a media box / TV PC. That being said, it's a great LAN party box at this size.
I cut down on the memory both Ram and hard drive space. It’s still costly but I paid $2000.
gotta pay the price for all the ITX stuff
CheesyTwister it's not the size of your unit, it's the amount of money you put into it..
That is the most beautiful build but I wish I can afford it. Parts are so damn expensive nowadays. I have to purchase a couple years old nuc for my kids.
The nuc isn't a bad choice even the 2016 models are worthy of their price
Didn't watch the video , I just stop by to say , that's a nice mini case 👍👌👌
