He is one of the best interviewer out there, i've watched a lot of this kind of movie interview, some interviewer was a bit off and made the actor uncomfortable but he just really great. Just kinda like graham norton did, he made his guest feel relax
You should check out his work on the Empire magazine podcast, way back in 2012-2014, before he moved to BBC Radio 1. His interviews and movie reviews were great! He had a way that made guests feel comfortable by asking intelligent questions in an engaging and charming way.
Rachel Weisz _has_ aged, she just still looks beautiful. The youth cult is strong in our culture, when youth is automatically equated with beauty, and the only way we can compliment a middle-aged actor's looks is saying that they look young or ~never age~.
I recall the late Carrie Fisher saying what her opinion was about the "admirers" who have had a lifelong crush on somebody they don't know personally - and their reasons...
Emma Stone is totally underrated. She kills every role she's in, and I feel like she's not getting the respect. Battle of the Sexes was so great because of her!
She's overrated. She's a very good actress. No doubt. But is she great? No. Is she one of the best? Not in a million years. She's in that third bracket in the hierarchy of talent.
Nahhhh stop it, Emma's accent was incredibly good. I was shocked and impressed. (and yeah I am British if you care) More importantly Emma, Rachel and Olivia Colman beasted this film. So good
I thought it was one of the best I've heard, and I'm a) British, and b) daft about accents. Not nearly as mannered or OTT as most non-UK anglophones having a go. As an example, I COULD NOT STICK Renee Zellweger's accent in 'Bridget Jones' - completely the wrong class for the character, way too posh. And don't get me started on Gwyneth Paltrow.
They are both Magical actors they embody their roles to perfection! Emma stone has one of the funniest bones in the industry love her to bits her British accent is insanely good what a talent.
Just saw this the other day. It was very, very good. Rachel really kicked ass, and in the best tradition of so many British actresses, she's able to have show command without coming across as shrill and angry. Another thing I liked about the film was that the rivalry came from a real place of self interest. It wasn't just two insecure women going at each other. By the way the story is actually is based on historical events.
I agree about the 'self-interest' angle. It's not just cattiness or jealousy (although there's some of that involved), it's real make or break political intrigue. Thought it was great to see the genders flipped this time, with the men being generally foppish and largely irrelevant. A nice change.
@@areedashridbeek I guess you appreciate what you don't have. But I genuinely think no matter what, she is so stunning. A lot of modern girls these days don't have that qaulity despite being good looking you know?

Charming! All three of you!! I'll have the dvd tomorrow. Already know it will be great fun. Really love how very kind and supportive Emma and Rachel are of one another. Class Act.
Some of my favourite lines by Rachel were "a monster for the children to play with, perhaps". And also "You wish me to lie to you? I will not lie. That is love!" I honestly questioned my heterosexuality with Rachel in this movie. She's SO beautiful, such a great actress. Ugh...
This is probably my favorite comedy movie of all time. It's so sophisticated and well written and filmed, it can be appreciated on all levels of film making while also being funny. It's high-brow comedy.
Rachel Weisz is adorable - she looked amazing in Bourne Legacy. Her husband Daniel Craig came by the set - so James Bond literally came to the set of a Bourne movie.
The way Rachel says Let's shoot something...I don't know why but I just think it's funny and the way she says it it's cheerful but slightly sinister. Best line ever.
I love when Rachel is explaining the X-Men comment...”I knew he meant it was a bit cr....it was a little cr....it just wasn’t meant from this film”. Now that’s some classy shade 😂
I love these actresses, and beyond from winning an Oscar, they deserve all the prizes where they're nominated. I must suppose for any American actor participating in an European production is a great priviledge, even though they must modify their accent to speak British accent like Emma, what you think?
Just saw The Favourite tonight-great film. Watching this interview, I forgot how naturally deep and husky Stone's voice is. As an American, I'm not the best judge of whether she nailed the British accent, but simply comparing her cadence in the film to her natural speaking voice, it's very clear that she was heavily modulating her voice for the role. She sounds like an entirely different person.
Emma Stone has really proven herself to be an astounding actress. I’d forgotten that she was even American. They all did well, but good god, Emma became that Abigail.
It was a good attempt and NOT overdone like so many do. It's better to be underdone than over the top as some of the worst attempts at accents have been the latter. I'm sure dating Andrew for so long she absorbed a lot of it herself before even having coaching. Good on her, for being humble about it too.
I loved the favourite. They were all great in it. I especially like the sound track. Particularly the sound that tracked the time in an intense situation that was playing out. It was just a like a grinding noise. It was great.

He looks handsome and smart, that helps.
Sean Evan's is good too
Before the scandal Jonathan Ross Was the best on bbc, not so much on itv these days though

Rachel Weisz _has_ aged, she just still looks beautiful. The youth cult is strong in our culture, when youth is automatically equated with beauty, and the only way we can compliment a middle-aged actor's looks is saying that they look young or ~never age~.
Agreed -- women can be beautiful at any age.
truth! Aging is beautiful. Rachel Weisz is so stunning
She's only THIS gorgeous at almost 50 because she hasn't messed up with her face (and genetics, sure)
Agreed sooo hard!! Yeah she's aged, like everyone will, but she looks so vibrant and fresh and natural, and still so beautiful.
It is not our culture, it is humanity -- beauty has always been a function of youth. Sexual selection.
Its 2020 and Rachel Weisz is still my crush

Frankie she won an Oscar, is that not respect from the industry.
@@A.A_xv But that was because the Academy only liked the movie she won for. They snubbed her for the Help and she was robbed for Birdman.
I prefer her as Gwen Stacy anyways! Who cares about Oscars?

The film is "loosely based" on historical events, most of it is fiction.

@@wonderlandian8465 I agree. Listen also to how the Greeks pronounce Olga
It's... quite far. Sounds more like a Greek-American who doesn't speak Greek saying it. Still, better than people basically saying "Yogos"
The occasional looks of snark and disdain that Rachel Weisz gives the interviewer from time-to-time are GOLD - LOL!
I was totally nonplussed, wondering what were you even talking about... then 5:15 happened. Yeah... I see what you mean.
Came here looking for a comment on this! If looks could kill!
She's so passive aggressively fierce!
@@fe5018 Good catch! That was very subtle, and all the better for it. I hope the interviewer is aware, cause it was an idiotic, juvenile question.
Emma Stone the English Accent in Maniac playing a Elf was so good, i was so impressed
It was more ‘high fantasy’ English but yes, she did it wonderfully with the actress playing her sister.
