THANK YOU JESUS!!!! THIS NEEDS to be sent to every Kirk Franklin and the like. So we can try to recapture this form of testimony...We are loosing our heritage and theology!!! God Bless all of you that are keeping this alive.
Thats my granny.! :) ♥. Please keep her in your prayers. She is having trouble breathing currently. But it is in god's hands. And keep Aunt Rodessa in your prayers. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer but we are not claiming it. Keep them all in your prayers.
Had the priviledge of meeting Delois for her 65 birthday celebration in Chicago. Singing with the UNCF Choir. Those women used to come to Harlem and tear down every church they went in. Before the Clarks, The Pace there was the Barretts and they SANG!!!
This is what I miss about Gospel. Honoring Jesus and not our human egos! I'm from Chicago myself and a legend in my own right but the REAL LEGENDS are Albertina Walker, Mahalia Jackson and the Barrett Sisters just to name a few. I want to give a shout out to Bishop JoAnn Long at Ne Life Believers also another Chicago legend that have been a HUGE part of my life!
wow, want to meet them so bad. i have the say amen somebody 25th anniversary edition and it caome with a soundtrack I keep it in my car. my dad made me watch that when I was about 7 yrs. old i liked it then and I love it even more now. thanks for sharing with us
Get somewhere and "set down" Rodessa. Don't let me catch you or Billie outside. LOL! Reminse me of my grand-mother and her sister. Too Precious. I love these ladies.
Yes I Love Billie too!!!! She is probably the most underated out of the Barrett Sisters! Delois gets her props b/c she is the oldest and has always been the lead singer and had a career with Roberta Martin even before they started singing together as sisters! Rhodessa can hit all the high notes that just make you wanna thow a hymnal at her...LOL!!! But Billie has the widest range!!! Even though she most often sings the bottom note...she can sing tenor, alto, and soprano....she's awesome!!!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your videos of the 81st Birthday Celebration for Deloris Barrett Campbell. I am truly enjoying them. I look forward to see more over the next few days! Thanks again.
I've always wondered this and never heard it explained...Did Mother Campbell have polyps on her vocal chords? I always found it so tragic that that beautiful voice was silenced while she was still living. But even after her voice was reduced to a whisper and she couldn't produce any tones, her stage presence was still 100 and I still enjoyed seeing her when she couldn't sing at all. That's an anointed PRO for you!
@3:54 Delois:I Wasnt Ready To Quit Right Then With My Sister's.I Used To Be The Lead Singer But They Done Out Sung Me Out Rhodessa:You Said You Wanna Be Out On Time Delois:Huh? Rhodessa:You Said You Wanna Be Out On Time Delois:I Know What Time It Is Rhodessa Will You Go Sit Down!!!! Rhodessa:You Want What? Delois:SIT DOWN!!!!!!! God Lord I Love That Lady
I hope Delois Barrett's wish comes true: She wants to sing for President Obama before God calls her home. Let's hope and pray that this will happen for her. These ladies are definitely women of God.
I really loved The Barret sister! I would like to know where she lived at? Her house seemed so pretty when she came on UA-cam with those beautiful mirrors! What a great voice she had
Sister Delois voice faltered due to old age and the 70+ years of singing, you must not forget that even when her voice was faltering she still pushed it to sing like in this video.
Well if you watch the clips from her later BDay celebrations they mention it and then in the documentary talks about the polyps which prevented her from singing and barley speaking.
i dont care what nobody says, those ladies are anointed from heaven!!! everytime i watch one of their clips, i get a breakthru!!!! wow!!!
THANK YOU JESUS!!!!

How refreshing it is to see them on the battlefield. This is gospel to me.

She didn't let her condition bog her down. She still had that happy appearance that could make you laugh.
I hope Delois Barrett's wish comes true: She wants to sing for President Obama before God calls her home. Let's hope and pray that this will happen for her. These ladies are definitely women of God.

biblical gospel singers
when was this recorded?
was that Inez andrews in the front in the black on 236 and delores washington in white??????
Can they sing like her? I need to go back out to Chicago and see them at least once (the delois and the sisters)
lol Will you go sit down lolol
And what was her daughters name? Did Deloise own a church? who took it over after she has gone on home now?
Who is Rhodessa?
@hnailah How is Mrs. Rodessa doing now?
How did DeLois Barrett Campbell lose her voice?
Sister Delois voice faltered due to old age and the 70+ years of singing, you must not forget that even when her voice was faltering she still pushed it to sing like in this video.
Delois developed polyps on her vocal cords which led to the loss of her voice
nothing we don't know, however she sang right to the bitter end of her life.
Well if you watch the clips from her later BDay celebrations they mention it and then in the documentary talks about the polyps which prevented her from singing and barley speaking.
She looks like the oldest must be the hair
LOL
I wonder if her sisters are still alive?
Both Rodessa and Billie are still alive today and are less active than when Delois was alive.
WAIT A MINUTE
WAS THAT MANNY RAMIREZ AT THE BEGINNING WITH THE DREADLOCKS?
and if so are they still singing?
do they have children? is that talent passed on?
