Delois Barrett-Campbell, Billie Barrett-Greenbay, Inez Andrews, Delores Washington, Albertina Walker, Rev. Clay Evans, Rev. Milton Brunson, and Father Charles G. Hayes....kept the foundation shaking....RIP to all of Chicago's finest
It's not that it'sd dead, it's just that today's singers don't have the same experience that they did. I've been blessed to meet and sing with theses ladies and many others like Shirley wahls, Jessy Dixon, Ethel Holloway and others. They had a different and timeless anointing. The more blessed of us have learned the value in both Traditional and contemporary music. I like you, love that Old School! Thanx for your comment!
YES LORD...Please say that again!!!!!!!!! It makes me so sick that the young folk of today think that u can't sing unless u do a whole lotta rifts and runs!!!!!! Just stand flat-footed like "The Queen" did here and let the Holy Ghost take care of the rest!!!! I love Albertina Walker along with all the other Caravans and the Barrett Sisters...wouldn't trade that ol' school sound for nothing today and they are trying to say that traditional gospel music is dead...but I am 28 and I LOVE IT!!!!!!
Traditional gospel is my favorite no riffs or runs just straight up singing your heart out for GOD. You can feel music like this. Thanks for posting and RIP Ms. Walker. By the way I am 33 and I love the old gospel music too.
I found my way back to the LORD through Albertina and Lee Williams, now both of them have went home!!!! Their Songs will LIVE ON (PRAISE THE LORD)"I Will See You in the RAPTURE!!!!AMEN!!!!
This performance is very inspirational and anointed!!!!! Many singers need to reach back and study the legends to learn presentation! No Runs or Riffs, just pure singing and FERVENT POWER! SANG MOTHER WALKER! Your a LIVING LEGEND
Thank You and God Bless You Dr. Albertina.I have a very hard time recognizing that you are in Heaven watching over us. Your songs, basic and always with a pointed and timely message jkeep me listening to you and maintaining you in my daily thoughts. Your life has given be strength, hope, courage and joy, Bless You Queen Albertina.
Miss me some ole school gospel singin! We're still here y'all, kept by the blood of Jesus Christ, stay ready as we approach another new year. Multiplied grace and peace to all!
Thank God for Sister Albertina Walker and Dolores Barrett. These were some of the finest gospel singers, that sung from there hearts. Nothing is better than this real style of gospel. Yes I'm from old school as they call it. When your down and out, you have to reach back to the old gospel songs and call on Jesus. Thank God for them. Although they're gone on to that city of the heavenly choir.. All of the angles are blending there voices together. Thank God for these two ladies.
@BaptistBoi I am 32 years old this is the music that I grow up on. This is the gospel I rather listen too. I thank God for your comment because you are so right.
The BEAUTIFUL BARRETT SISTERS and ALBERTINA WALKER are the BEST GOSPEL SINGERS in the world in my humble opinion. They were GENUINE & SINCERE in their "SINGING", it was almost like MAGIC. THANK YOU LORD JESUS FOR BLESSING US WITH SUCH REAL TALENT SUCH AS THE BARRETTE SISTERS & ALBERTINA WALKER!!!
I remember being trained how to ride my bike w/o the training wheels, my father giving instructions. And picking me up after falling down. I wanted to be held longer; but he wanted me back on the bike. There is training for. my soul's warfare there are attacks,to harm us but our Father guides us for sucess in battle. Still Here.
TO everyone who might be looking around at others I hope you take sometime TO LOOK WITHIN YOURSELF AND THEN LOOK UP THOSE Ladies did That and now I believe like me have Eternal Life ONLY THEY HAVE BEAT SOME OF US TOO THE FINISH LINE 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🙏🙏🙌🏼
Thats my granny.! :) ♥. Please keep her in your prayers. She is having trouble breathing currently. But it is in god's hands. And keep Aunt Rodessa in your prayers. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer but we are not claiming it. Keep them all in your prayers.
The Dynamic Barrett Sisters and Albertina came out of Chicago and shocked the World with a unique Gospel Sound That CONTINUES To Leave Us In Awe. Their POWERFUL MUSIC IS VERY INSPIRING AND UPLIFTING! ❤️
The consummate professional. RIP! Tina gave God her entire ❤ to the Lord. Even tho she was very sick here, she still sounded awesome. What she did sick, many singers can't do fully well.
Rest In Heaven Sisters Until we meet again! Bishop Ellis from Greater Grace Temple -Detroit, Michigan use to sing this anointed song prior to his demise. it is one of my favorites. I also am Thanking God that I am still here and doing His will. talking to young people about Jesus asking those in the street if they would like to receive Him as their personal savior, Passing out bible tracks at the bus stops, at Sec of State Offices and so many other things for my Savior. I do not have the gift of singing like others but I 'am glad I have a spirit of Boldly witnessing for my Lord and because of this many have received JESUS as their Lord and Savior. So with that said..... we must work while we can for when night come (death) no man shall work.
"AND SHE DONT HAVE TO GIVE ME NO MONEY OR NOTHIN"!! I TRULY LOVE AND MISS THIS SOILDER! THE ANOINTING IS STILL IN THIS VID... ONLY SHE CANT SHOW OUT LIKE THAT...
its very simple, the reason todays so-called singers do those runs & rifts, is because they cannot sing. So, they must hide that fact in stage antics & and other gimmicks. The Caravans,Davis Sisters,Ward Singers, Roberta Martin Singers...Are what you call pure singers in the very first degree. Now many have crossed over, but they left a lasting legacy. R.I.P. Albertina,Delois,And yes Dear Jesse Dixon. you all gave much joy to the masses.
jollysincere not necessarily true. It’s style is meant to reach outside of your four walls of the church and appeal to the lost souls who need Jesus. The Clark sisters music is what drew me to God and I still love this old music from the 60’s and so on.
"The Queen" does it again...LOL!!!!! I wish they had kept the camera on her @ 5:40 cuz I know she was "goin thru"...LOL!!!!! Love to see her when she "goes in"!!!!
I love this comment.. you telling the truth.. I feel this way.. If you're going to sing a song... Let God Take Over and Seat Down.. rifts and runs are nice, but where's the Anointing..
What year was this?? This is blessed Sis Albertina you are and will be missed. May God bless your memory that you left with us.. I'M STILL HERE!!!! Thx for posting
@SHONTEWATTS Thank you so very much and Yes Your right about everthing i know what Anut Shirley Had to do when MY Aunt Albertina Walker had got sick.....
@gospelfanman (Let me tell you one Damn thing and i know Im sorry and I know my aunt Tina is going to get me) But what ever went on with Aunt Shirley and Pastor Williams they dont have to tell you know a thing even if she does not want to Ok Plus that was NEVER a slap in Aunt Tina's face it came right out mouth that she would never be over Aunt Shirley.......... GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!
You had betta say so!!!! I don't know what these singers of today are coming too...thinking that a whole lotta rifts & runs means you can sing or makes u better than the next person. I tell people all the time...I don't need a "show" or "performance"...just stand flat-footed like "The Queen" did here & let the Holy Ghost take care of the rest!!!!! She is definately my favorite Gospel Asrtist of all-time!!! She along with the rest of the Caravans & The Barrett Sisters aint nuttin but da truth!!!!
I don't think modern gospel singers know God for themselves. Their music, like their souls, is empty and dead. They repeat what they hear others do. But they never knew Him for themselves. "On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers'" (Matthew 7:21-23)."
Ms. Delois stated in another youtube video that it is the prayer of The Barrett Sisters to perform at The White House. Let's help make this happen! Please contact Special Assistant to the President and Social Secretary, Mr. Jeremy Bernard, to request that The Barrett Sisters perform at the White House. Address your correspondence to him (the White House mailing address and fax numbers are at the official White House website). Need help with your letter? Contact me. ACT QUICKLY!

@gospelfanman Well yes you are wrong My Aunt may have not been there for paved the way but for what I can tell you she love MY Aunt Tina and this all bull and When Aunt got Sick She was always there you may have not seen her like you see the other member's of the Caravans But she was always there for my Aunt Tina so what ever else you want to know I'm Still Here and anybody else
@gospelfanman Let me tell you one thing about me I dont care what you think about me But One thing YOU WON'T talk abot My Anut Albertina Or Pastor Shirley Caesar But anyway tell me this You wanted Shirley To Stop doing what she is doing for Bis Williams even tho she did all she could and Any way She was always there for Aunt Albertina Plus She was there when it all happnendend With Aunt Albertina........
I HATE TO SAY IT... but... (forgive me God if i'm wrong...) i feel that SHIRLEY CAESAR was sitting around JUST WAITING for this moment... like a buzzard. I can NEVER forgive her not recording with the Caravans on PAVED THE WAY... (she had OTHER OBLIGATIONS?) But when Tina became feeble & was in a wheelchair... i see Shirley ON STAGE with her, like she had so much love for her. (I COULD BE WRONG)... but the song say: DONT give me flowers when U CAN SEE i'm HALF DEAD!
