+William Scerbo I love bands that can play a lot of notes...and then I love bands like this that have few notes but a passion bucket BRIMMING with fury. A great lesson in minimalism in music, this band is.
It works so well because those two guitars play only what they need to play, and they’re so locked into one another, it creates the perfect blend to get the sound they need.
12:44 Kevin Cole - "So the last album Light Up Gold was the most played album on my show." Andrew Savage ' "Christ" Thought that was a hilarious reaction.
Melodic noise. But never, EVER stupid nor sophmoric. An acquired taste perhaps but I know it has all the things I like in a band that explores this kind of sonic landscape. Again, probably not everyone will get this band. And that's okay. They still rule anyway.
Love tis band. Thnx Kexp for bring them back to your studio again. Light up gold album was a brilliant work but the sound is brightness to me. So I was waiting a full performance in a place like KEXP, where sometimes live performances sounds better than in a studio. This band deserves this
why is everybody judt trying to comparre the to some other band??? jee. Andy savage's unique talent is obvious Aren't many lead singers who can write political lyrics, play lead guitar, and draw. take them for what and who they are!!
One of my favorite bands of the last couple of years, simple, like college rock, but flavored with some of my favorites, sonic youth, ramones, the feelies. so good.
Loving this....raw and unpolished. The voice and energy reminds me of at least two 'Johns' of the punk/post-punk era - Jonathan Richman and Johnny Lydon.
Really reminds me of some old school punk like the romones and black flag. They pretty much run with simple straight lines and then explode into big sounds usually in the chorus.
wikipedia says post punk and indie rock all this is is a smooth cool void/the faith fronted by a lackluster greg ginn trying to be fugazi and i love it
Spooky i sort of speak with people in mine, guess i could relate though with one about #romannumerals more greek if we're specific and a sweatshirt, then a sweater and someone believing it all a joke - hopefully your dream had the opposing presentation of parkay quarts, for breakfast tables and toast or family dinner and rolls or biscuits
when people warrant these presentations it should be understood they are performing in a box maybe three times larger than most traditional recording spaces, in front of one or two, three four five, six people, maybe this band really brings that concept home, musically and performance
these songs for them go in a different direction completely, and then a balance sort of out-shifts between albums to a now more present, weird if prescient, sound, never forget #fergusandgeronimo
"i just want to sleep in my own bed again" as though people are aiming to keep people from people, like " yeah, we see you and together you work, as well as apart, so forget about all of that", and then how beautiful about the play for #hitchikersguidetothegalaxy, "your bed is as much her bed as his bed as their bed, deal with it"
Band delivers here but JESUS, the chat is such time consuming wank which actually compromises the whole performance and it all becomes a bit black and white and strangely dull.
Prob cliche but lots of Nirvana/Incesticide elements and vibes. Even though I know it's out there, it's good to know music like this still exists and is being played/featured on the radio.
Trash interview. Terrible at phrasing questions. Very awkward host. Might seem harsh but this is the man's career. And he's the weird uncle of Pacific Northwest radio.
they don't play very many notes, but they sure do play the hell out of the notes they do play!
amazing band in my opinion.
+William Scerbo I love bands that can play a lot of notes...and then I love bands like this that have few notes but a passion bucket BRIMMING with fury. A great lesson in minimalism in music, this band is.
I don't always many notes, but when I do... I play the hell out of them!
It works so well because those two guitars play only what they need to play, and they’re so locked into one another, it creates the perfect blend to get the sound they need.
the buzz of their amps before they start playing. a sign of things to come
0:18 - “Ducking & Dodging”
5:55 - “Black & White”
8:47 - “Vienna II”
9:45 - Interview w/ Kevin Cole
20:11 - “Dear Ramona”
22:37 - “What Color is Blood”
Thanks. That interview was getting long-winded.
this still is my favorite parquet courts kexp performance
100% Duckin’ and Dodgin’ is SO much better than the album version! The pace/tempo they play at, it really gets a hold of you! 🤘❤
I was here 10 days ago?? 😂 …. I dont remember that 😬
12:44 Kevin Cole - "So the last album Light Up Gold was the most played album on my show."
Andrew Savage ' "Christ"
Thought that was a hilarious reaction.
That's not very nice Clint.
Thank you?
drummer plays the shit out of that thigh my god
He's got bruises to prove it.
R Webb good work drumming one oh one, they only make kits so big because your parents can relate #rush #ledzeppelin

I really wish they would have played Instant Disassembly but I still enjoyed their set
how i felt at their concert... seeing them again in 2 weeks so hopefully they come thru
isnt that one like 9 minutes long
That song is so damn good
Melodic noise. But never, EVER stupid nor sophmoric. An acquired taste perhaps but I know it has all the things I like in a band that explores this kind of sonic landscape. Again, probably not everyone will get this band. And that's okay. They still rule anyway.
agreed
+BigBlack81 you sound like such a pretentious fuck
Artificial Death Records Thank you. I appreciate that. Nice channel banner, BTW.
+Artificial Death Records well he is right
lol he removed it
I like how honest and direct Andy Savage is.
This is simplicity at its best love there sound.
This type of rock gives such a different sound when live
All these guys do is get better and better and better. Tremendous work!
Love tis band. Thnx Kexp for bring them back to your studio again. Light up gold album was a brilliant work but the sound is brightness to me. So I was waiting a full performance in a place like KEXP, where sometimes live performances sounds better than in a studio. This band deserves this
Black & White is an amazing track!
So raw and powerful!
i was standing clapping like a gospel maniac to that first song, very good!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😜🔥😜
why is everybody judt trying to comparre the to some other band??? jee. Andy savage's unique talent is obvious Aren't many lead singers who can write political lyrics, play lead guitar, and draw. take them for what and who they are!!

+kneejerker lol
+Catherine Woodward im not comparing them to anyone x
Pls come to Brazil!
uhull
Vienna 2 ❤️ i love this band sooo much
Sounds about one billion times better than the album. Rare.
100% their live stuff is played at a faster tempo and has so much more personality
HOLY FUCK THIS IS BADASS
kawaiidesu oy vey No Shit! I've never heard these guys before, blown away right off the bat!
Fucking great americana/bed head/Richard Hell feel. One of my favorite band ever.
they remind me of the feelies
One of my favorite bands of the last couple of years, simple, like college rock, but flavored with some of my favorites, sonic youth, ramones, the feelies. so good.
i love music and this is why i do. thank you. I bought most of your music already
Loving this....raw and unpolished. The voice and energy reminds me of at least two 'Johns' of the punk/post-punk era - Jonathan Richman and Johnny Lydon.
they killed it. so good!
Best band out there
excellent stuff
Rockin' and the rolllin's at it's finest.
Really reminds me of some old school punk like the romones and black flag. They pretty much run with simple straight lines and then explode into big sounds usually in the chorus.
Love this band!
raw sound and super talented!
Love the new record.
Ok - so here's one example where youth is NOT wasted on the young.
so good
Fucking New York man! Most of its bands have a unique sound.
I hear a little bit of Minutemen in these guys, not a bad thing.
I wonder if Mike Watt digs these guys
perhaps a little gun club as well
Yeah, you can sure tell what they dig
And that shit sure aint a bad thing! :D
Minutemen are a hardly known treasure. RIP D. BOON
this is badass
They are so fucking great!!!
OMG these dudes can grind. Husker Du meets War on Drugs
love love love
love

Cool come to brazil
I dig it.
They are so fucking awesome!!
this rocks so freekin hard oh man
You. rock.
Wire meets Urinals/100 Flowers vibes going strong. Fuckin dig this!
BAD ASS !!!!
wikipedia says post punk and indie rock
all this is is a smooth cool void/the faith fronted by a lackluster greg ginn trying to be fugazi
and i love it
Hahaha all this is is a smooth faith/the void cover, awesome! I too love it. and I love that description
Kevin Cole why you so cool bro?!
Ducking and Dodging sounds so influenced by Ten Years After's version of I'm Going Home at Woodstock
Singer reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite
I kno right!
Fun fact he’s actually the inspiration for the character.
nah I’m just drunk.
Because Napoleon Dynamite was a real person and also a singer in a rock band. Enjoy your tenth birthday.
Except he's smarter than you.
I just randomly had a dream last and on a wall it said the parquet courts like wat
Parquet Courts next album will be maybe inspired by The Wall? If you believe in that stuff.
Has anyone ever heard a KEXP interview that wasn't effectively a sleeping drug?
Every time
nice
Song starts at 20:14
Does anyone know how to get a similar guitar tone to andrew?
+Joe Curtis Why would anyone want this shitty indie rock tone? God I miss the days of classic rock like Nickelback and ACDC and Ellie Goulding
I'm just gonna assume you're trolling
It's me Joe
+Eung Kyu lol
+Joe Curtis Music man amplifiers. They're wonderful!
♥!
Will Ferrell should play cowbell on Vienna II
Does Austin mess up/forget his line at the start of Vienna II?
Hazuinf h No I think Andrew's guitar cut out and it threw him off
+Hazuinf h yes
Black & White bumps
The bassist, watching this video after the fact: "Wow, I am such a GREAT singer!!"
Sean looks oddly similar to Michael Gira at 4:58
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet !
are all radio show interviews this pointless? have i just never noticed?
Reminds me of pavement somehow
especially Dear Ramona, sounds like "Nothing Ever Happens" off of S&E
A lot of early PC has that Pavement feel, weird and a lot of words being sung.
These guys are actually pretty good.....the new Sonic Youth?
pretty much the new (old) Gun Club
First song sounds like 12XU by WIRE
cool Bad Breeding shirt
no comments?

compararaison n est pas raison ils ont un leur son j aime
so blur alors?
Wait that's not will Ferrell?
Who disliked this - are you bonkers?
HEY BROS WHEN ARE YOU GONNA HAVE GUITARS EAT CYMBALS PLAY "WARNING" SERIOUSLY ONE OF THE BEST SONG IVE HEARD IN YEARZ. IM ExTREME.
I suppose I'm relieved it's not meant to be Zeppelin, as I'm sure Robert Plant is as well.
Where the fuck did Zeppelin come up?
bad breeding tshirt?
Donuts only rules all.
"Why waste time play many note when few do trick"
anybody know what model of Squier Telecaster Andrew uses?
Hazuinf h Affinity, I believe
Gabriel Garcia That's almost incredible
I think its awesome he uses a Squier. Any guitar, in the right hands, can sound amazing Hazuinf h
Band delivers here but JESUS, the chat is such time consuming wank which actually compromises the whole performance and it all becomes a bit black and white and strangely dull.
12:51 haha. Only him.
what pedals/settings will give me a similar tone?
kinda reminds me of Johnathan richman
I hear a little Jim Carol in the vocals
:-)
Prob cliche but lots of Nirvana/Incesticide elements and vibes. Even though I know it's out there, it's good to know music like this still exists and is being played/featured on the radio.
austin looked blonde in the preview i was scared
broken string
I didn't know Napoleon Dynamite could play drums..
sounds like pavement
OYE QUE FOME LA BANDA, LES GUSTA EL ÑATO PARECE
God damn. Ive never been so bored in my life.
The drummer and lead vocalist look like Art Garfunkel clones.
sounds a lot like kings of leon before they became U2
3:07 .....that fellas neck pickup... Good grief!
Trash interview. Terrible at phrasing questions. Very awkward host. Might seem harsh but this is the man's career. And he's the weird uncle of Pacific Northwest radio.
If Napoleon Dynamite was actually cool
tired old sound, everyones been there done that
I hear a raw sound. Glad to see some are still interested in making it. And others are interested in hearing it.
