troubleclef Thank you, Tony! So nice to read you after so long. I plan to post another one sometime soon. Hope to watch you again sometime this year, sir!
Thank you very much. This time the treat came with an unexpected bum note at some point :( But since I don't like to do many takes when recording better having that than no video, I guess.
Very nice, fluid re-work of this lovely Genesis piece. Nursery Cryme is one of all time fav albums. Man , I enjoy your vids. Usually I find acoustic guitar versions of full band songs “lacking”, but you really show it can be done and still maintain the spirit of the song. Inspirational.
Thanks again, man. As for arranging for solo guitar and inspiration, I've learned a lot through the years from master arranger troubleclef. You should check him out here on UA-cam! He's the one that has really pushed me into getting better at arranging songs covering their many elements.
Wonderful to hear this old gem from Genesis! You have a first class ear; it's really tough to figure out songs with the guitar in something other than standard tuning. Great job!
Thanks a lot, sometimes I like to try different tunings to see what it comes out (many of the times not much :p) and in this case the tuning matches the key of the original song.
Thanks Alex, I really love it ! It must be quite difficult to play, I particularily appreciate the choice of the 'sound' you have created. The arrangement of the whole song with a single guitar must have been complex to render but the result is really great! Keep posting my friend !
Thanks a lot Fulvio. It was a bit tricky at some parts to figure out with open tuning involved but I had fun nevertheless. I have a couple more Genesis arrangements finished already, just need to find the right time and record them ;)
lovely arrangement!! : O , if you don't mind me asking, what is the guitar you use in this video. I keep thinking that I need to acquire a parlor or cutaway style acoustic. great work!!
Oh, thanks for asking. Right now I'm working on some other arrangements for solo guitar but that one is still on my list. As a matter of fact, the arrangement hasn't progressed much since the last time I picked it up but that could change. When I feel I get stuck with something I think is better to leave it behind for some time till the inspiration comes back. Hope the re-take doesn't take so many years though.
Absolutamente Fantástico! I guess you're the only one who did this piece on youtube by acoustic cover until now. I love this song and it is on my list to work with folk guitar, and I'll try to sing it and play, but not so good as you... I've been working on some Genesis pieces that people don't usually play covers on you tube... I hope to record it soon, "Stagnation", "DusK", Time Table, "Suppers ready", "Counting out time" and Arlechin... Open G? Great one!!! Thanks!
You got the song with one guitar. Man, that was sweet. Thank you.
You make it sound as beautiful as Peter Gabriel & Phil Collins singing it in unison on the original album and very well enjoyed.
Actually this can't be considered exactly a unison, Phil and Peter are harmonizing, and beautifully at that.
UNISON?? They don’t sing in unison. They sing in harmony.
How did I miss this one? oh, man, great job on one of my all time Genesis favourites.
troubleclef Thank you, Tony! So nice to read you after so long. I plan to post another one sometime soon. Hope to watch you again sometime this year, sir!
You play brilliantly. Amazing. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Thanks for the comment!
Such a beautiful version

hyperboreal thanks, good tip, this guy Troubleclef is indeed excellent as well. Just subbed to his channel.
I agree about maintaining the spirit of the song - keeping that musical 'importance' that makes it.
Brilliant cover of one of my favourite Genesis songs👏👏👏👏😎
You're blowing me away my friend!!! These arrangements are really good! Scott.
Thank you very much, Scott!

Very, very good - I love the playing nearer the bridge at about 51 seconds. :-)
Love those arpeggios too. Thanks!
Oh, what a beautiful tune. Excellent, as always...
Lovely.
this is really nice! It's fun to hear this tune stripped down like this. Excellent arrangement and playing!
Thanks for appreciating my work on this tune.
All is not lost.
Spectacular rendition!

nice skills! some guitar tab?

Bravissimo. What open tuning are you using? Grazie.
how's the final version of starless coming along? i'm happy with the old one, but you did mention it was in progress ;))

I think your version far outweighs the original!! Nice......
^..^
That's very kind, thanks guitarcat!
Great arrangement and performance! Was the original played in open tuning or did you choose it for convenience? It sounds awesome!
John Fischer Thank you! I'm not totally sure about the original but I think it might be Open G as well on one of those guitars.

Thanks for commenting, André and good luck with those covers.
Phil sang this one!
I think Phil and Mike were used in the harmony alongside the main contribution from Peter Gabriel.
Can you do the tutorial?
do you possibly have tabs for this I can use?
I don't have tab, sorry.
I'll give you a thousand dollars if you post the tab
Cash up front!
@@hyperboreal 🤣🤣🤣. But seriously, beautifully done
