Wow I cant tell you how happy I am that I came across this video! I love this song, one of my favorite genesis tunes and I always wanted to learn to play it but the chords i could find online didnt really seem quite right... you did such a great interpretation of it and explained it so well, and made it so easy for me to learn! Made my night!!!!!!!!!!! I think you're right that there's multiple guitars on the recording, and also Mike Rutherford wrote in his book that he had tuned both strings in each chorus on his 12 string to harmonies to try to emulate the harmonies the he and ant phillips would play together... he called the results "dodgy" but I think it sounds really beautiful myself. I think you did a great job here of summing up all the different parts into one arrangement. I also appreciate you tuned your guitar down a step so it matches the recording but the voicings are way easier than if one were to play it in G.. Well done and thank you so so much!
from the lowest string to the highest one basically my tuning was D-A-F-C-G-D. the reason i lowered so that i can sing and reach the high note. apologies for the confusion. you can keep the standard tune and just follow the chord in my tutorial. i know the sound will not match.

What tuning are you using; I used an online tuner to tune to the standard EADG etc and you seem to be down a few steps from that? what is up?
