    You missed two vital parts of this build.
    1. Never wear actual shoes for building rotaries, Crocs or Sandals only
    2. The torque sequence tattoo on your wrist!

    Step 1: buy rotary

      During timelapse you can slow down the playback speed to .25 and it clearly shows every step. Great job man!

    Y'all are making me want to get hold of a junker one of these engines and take a stab at cleaning/rebuilding it. They're not SIMPLE, but they're also not as complex as I would have thought

      phoenix rising DO NOT try any kind of Porting, it is an extremely precise and sometimes proprietary process and must be done by a cnc, the water & oil jackets are extremely thin in parts.

    Great video Vargus. I just have one small request, could you make a super in-depth assembly video of the rotary with, the little inside tricks to the tear-down, to assembling the rotors and such. I think a great in-depth 3 part video that would be, the end all be all video, that would teach us how to build these great "brap, brap" machines.

    Was this a 12A or 13B and are there any differences in the rebuilding process between the two?

      This was a 13b , the difference of the 12a is that the water seals go on the housings not the steels

    Lmao on my channel no one believed me that you can reuse all the side seals with springs,apex seals with springs and oil control rings, as long as they meet the tolerances lol

    Please, could you tell me immediately which glue/silicone You used for example at 13:02? Will it endure a high temperatures(how many celsius do they have?) generated inside combustion chamber? Where'd You bought a main parts for restoration(it means those gaskets/seals)? Thanks for attention.

    A few things you breezed over in video, the fine adjustments to the apex seals during assembly of the engine, not showing how clean you made all the grooves by hand, how much assembly lube to use, torque settings and sequence.

    What I would love is if you guys would show how you put the assembled engine back in the car and hook everything up. I just bought a s4 turbo II and I’m going to need to do this sooner or later. First step is disconnecting everything and pulling it out, people seem to ignore that part of it in instructional videos

    What r u using for solvent in your wash tank? Looks to work awesome on loosening carbon. I’ve switched to using evaporust, but it will actually etch and pit steel or aluminum if you leave it in too long, also will eat the holding tank if it’s a steel tank... ask me how I know lol

    Nice! I rebuild mostly LS engines but I’ve always wanted to get an FD as a project car, I just don’t know shit about rotary’s. Learning more & more about them though the more I watch your vids! I’m definitely going to get one one of these days. Seems like there’s a lot that has to be really precise, but definitely looks fun nonetheless.

    1:03 it says the oil control rings are really sharp. That is no joke! I should have known this when I was cleaning them last time. I noticed there were holes in my gloves. Then I pulled off the gloves and noticed there were also holes in my thumbs LOL
