    • @renpuffinberger6664
      @renpuffinberger6664  4 роки тому +2

      I may have not mentioned it. I do add an inch to the straight side of the flap. I do not change the location of the snaps. Attach those just like you would according to the pattern. The added inch gives it just enough more space to fit all my stuff and still close securely when it isn’t packed full.

      Ugh they are. I can NEVER get them perfect. No matter how hard I try. The way I see it, you can still use a pretty cotton fabric on the whole wallet if you want then just use waterproof canvas on the card slots. It goes together so much more smoothly.

    Your videos are so good!! Thank you! Since you only sewed an inch and a half or so to stitch the zipper pocket to the card slots - that doesn’t sound like the bottom of the zipper pocket would be closed. How do you keep change from migrating o out of the bottom and is taking the cotton at the bottom going to unravel?

    I did this without interfacing the front flap with WPC and 2 ounce chrome tan, soft temper leather and I needed the Decovil Light on the leather to stabilize it, just in case anyone tries to do leather without interfacing. For my next version, I'm trying a front flap made of two pieces of not-interfaced leather to see how that does.
    Edit: it still needs Decovil, I just tried it.

  • @sugarmuffin57
    @sugarmuffin57 3 роки тому

    I am a little confused...I know you only need a short line of stitching to hold the zipper pocket to the card slot liner but I though you needed to sew the whole thing to the outer part before you put on your rivets.

    • @renpuffinberger6664
      @renpuffinberger6664  3 роки тому

      Actually this is my way of getting around that. I never liked the look of the stitching on my exterior side of the wallet. It was always crooked or something. So I sew the card slot piece to the zipper pocket then the rivets will actually keep those pieces in place and I won’t have to see that line of stitching. Hope I explained that ok

  • @carolehaug3303
    @carolehaug3303 3 роки тому

    Ren, I really like your video. You do a great job teaching. I did a sew along with it. I like not having the box sewen on the outside but is there some way to attach the slots to the lining without sewing the box? Maybe it’s not necessary. Thanks. I’m looking forward to watching more of your tutorials.

    • @renpuffinberger6664
      @renpuffinberger6664  3 роки тому +1

      Yes there is. If you watch some of my other NCW wallet videos I go over how I add the card slots to the zipper panel. That step is necessary if you don’t want to see the box. At least that’s the only way I’ve found to do it. If I remember and get a chance to, maybe I’ll do a short video on how it’s done. But I’d suggest taking a look at my other videos and fast forwarding to the lining parts and checking those out. 😊
