I have purchased an Industrial machine PROSEW 1933A walking foot machine. I haven’t got it yet as I am waiting to get it shipped. I live in Curra, Queensland, Australia
I can’t begin to describe how satisfying it was when you found the magnet backing. I found myself shouting, “It’s at 9 inches!” Ha ha... I do that all the time. Beautiful wallet!
I did the calculation and you would need 58.5x16" piece of the self-healing edge textile of your choice to make this wallet (that is using only a single color). Just FYI for anyone else who was wondering. ETA: if you print the pattern at 90% and use the following measurements, you can get the pattern from an 18x54 piece of cork (as sold on Fabric Funhouse). Credit Card Slot (2)7x15 Credit Card Slot Back (2)7x7 Zipper Pouch (2)6.5x6.5 (zipper tab measurements the same)
oh I've had the pattern for years, just never found a good tutorial on how to get a cork wallet out of it and yours show all cork which is even better. Thank you!
This video was a game changer for me . I have always been intimidated by cork and you made it so easy. I’m going to buy some cork and give it a try. Thank you I learned so much.
I Just found you oh my gosh I love your design of this wallet it makes so much sense even for fabric. You’re a very good teacher thank you so much JANIS from Canada
Thank you Nicole for sharing. Your very talented and very generous to share all the information. I am sure it didn't just come to you overnight how to do it the way you do. I bet it took some tweeking to get the whole thing done to what it is now. I do prefer the other view of you sewing at the machine though. Easier to see what you are doing.
Outstanding!! Love the modifications you’ve made. Brilliant. Hope you’ll do the Mini sometime. Here it is almost 2022! Wow. Happy new Year! 🎆 BtW, Lauren was making her NY NCW and remarked about your cork version sending many of us over here to have a look. I’m a Subbie, but thought that was nice of Lauren.
Loved your tutorial and the way you made the outer piece into one piece. And I really liked the shape of the flap better than the curved one. You're amazing!
Thank you so much for another terrific video! I've been sewing apparel and home dec for 1000 years, and just got into making bags so am thankful you are sharing your expertise. (Plus, I TOTALLY love to see young women enjoying sewing.) I look forward to learning so much more.
I love watching your videos. You make it look so easy. You do beautiful work. I bought a few of your patterns and can't wait to try them! Big show coming up and I'm so excited to be able to have them them for my customers! Definitely have to try the NCW; love the way you do it. Thanks for sharing. I'm a fan!
I love the whole piece combined with the flap and the body - I also need to do the squared off flap - much faster to sew. I just got some new cork and guess I will be trying this method next week when I get my other NCWs done :)
I love how you work. Makes everything so simple. I am much more confident with cork, thanks to you. That one piece pattern makes so much sense. Suggestion. If you make the card slots using the technique you use with the fabric and slits in your Tall Wallet pattern, the NCW is much less bulky. Love you!
I love your videos! You make it so easy to put these together. I've make the Glenda Convertible Clutch and your Key Fob Slim Wallet by watching your videos. Easy peasy! Thanks so much for your great tutorials :)
First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH! for this fabulous video tutorial. I have the pattern but never attempted it. I love your changes. I have a question about the rivets. I did not see you put in the ones on the bottom, so I am not sure how that works but I love the way it looks. I wonder if you could clue me in. I have mine all cut out in cork and have started some of the things. Thank you again!
Put rivets where you deem necessary. The wallet will trained to stay folded and closed around the zipper pocket. If I add them closer to the bottom it’s about 2” from the top.
FINALLY, a tutorial that makes sense! I have had this pattern since it came out. I've made 6 and I hated making every single one of them due to none of the tutorials I have seen so far made sense to me. This did. I wish I had your template lol Now, I rewound this and could not understand one part. On your flap did you add the 1/4" SA or didn't. I like how you did the lining in cork also, it doesn't fall forward when opened. Thank you for the great video! I do now know which wallet I will be making next year in 2020 and on!
Hi Laura, I'm so happy my tutorial made sense for you! To attach the flap to the body, you'll want to add 1/4" to the straight bottom edge and tape that extra you added to the top center of the main body panel. Maybe I'll show a video of how I made that for you guys too!
@@SewGnar I know I would love that! I'd love to have all your notes lol. Helping each other is part of being sewing sisters. I sure do appreciate your help! Thank you again!
@@SewGnar I think I need a video of it, because your reply here made me think of something else and in the tutorial you said you attached the Flap (as is from pattern) to the body by overlapping the bottom piece by a ¼", is that right? I've also gotta to learn how to make that alternate flap too lol
Awesome work, amazing pattern revisions! Genius! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise and skills with all of us! Oh ya, BTW…LOVE your glasses too!! ♥️🥰♥️
WOW!! I can't believe I just found you today!! What a great video! I don't understand why you burn your raw edges and glue them.
