I'm so appreciative of this video. I walked a few days on the Cotswold Way with my sister in 2023 and now that I'm retired, I'm planning to walk the entire distance from Chipping Campden to Bath in summer 2025. It was great to be able to follow your journey and have an idea of what to expect. I am planning to do a more leisurely walk, probably 10 miles a day max and I'll stay at inns rather than camp. Coming from the U.S., I really want to take my time and enjoy the landscape and the villages along the way. I'm inspired by your adventurous spirit and your passion for staying wild. Wishing you many more happy adventures and safe travels!
What an amazing Sunday afternoon film. I have, through my own stupidity allowed myself to get unfit and fat.. 20 years ago this would have been the kind of thing I was doing. I’m 48 years old and want to turn my life around and get back to doing this again. Thank you for inspiring me.
Thank you Abbie very inspiring walk , Cotswolds was my home for 18 years and you have made me realise how lucky l was to live there, watch many of your walks when I’m feeling low it really helps me
Such a tonic on a cold winter's night with the wind howling outside, and the rain lashing against the windows, a reminder that sunny, warm days lie not too far ahead. Great to see you back doing what you do so well, taking us with you on the trail, and making us feel every sweat soaked mile of the journey. Truly inspiring!!
This is wonderful to watch; you are interested in everything, show us all the good stuff and give the viewer so much to think about. Thank you, in particular, for stopping to look at the beautiful wildflowers and all the signs. xx
"I'm lost for words" ??? Abbie, never. Love your effusive enthusiasm and always a smile no matter what and the fact you are out there hiking not just reviewing gear.
Thanks for posting this. I had an ankle and foot break right as Covid 19 hit here and was the last surgery before the sports clinic shut down. All physical therapy places were considered elective medicine and were shut down. My physical therapy was getting out to walk in nature. It has been three years to the date since that surgery and I am putting in seven mile days. Nothing like your long mileage, but always out in nature and if possible, near a body of water because that brings peace to my soul. It is a choice I make to get out in nature because it invigorates me and helps me to survive chronic depression and chronic anxiety. I loved following along with your trip.
Abbie thank you for bringing me along. A stroke 4yrs ago put me in a wheelchair. So this adventure is like a breath of air.well done video. I like the detail like enjoying talking off the shoes afy a long day. Of course sharing youreal makes this feel personal.
"Can I have a plaque?"...🤣 Of course you can matey. Absolute beaut of a film. Had a massive smile on my face by the end of the journey. Well done Abbie 🙌😘 well worth the wait.
Fabulous. I’m from Bath, love the Cotswolds and I’m currently living in Hong Kong. As we enter the fifth Covid wave with all its restrictions, I feel myself missing home and just loved this blog. Perfect. Thank you.
I’m going to play the old guy card and tell you how much I appreciated this video because you remind me so much of one of my daughters. She is in a biology course now and i could see her doing exactly what you have done. Thanks for the inspiration that i was able to pass along.
I have lived in the cotswolds my entire life and I have always thought it was a boring place to live but watching this really makes me appreciate the natural beauty I live in thank u Also I'm dyslexic so apologies about eny spelling mistakes
I recoginised Chippen Campden straight away. I stayed there for a few weeks, when I was still working in archaeology. I also visited Broadway tower. Another great video, which brings back some memories.
Your videos are amazing and inspirational,I love watching your walks,I suffer with anixty and know just how much walking helps me.i wish you all the best for the future
Hi Abbie after watching this you inspired us to do the walk we have just come back after doing the first day camping at Hayles really enjoyed it.Our big mistake not taking enough water as we didn’t see anything after Broadway.
It's always a pleasure to enjoy your videos and poetic descriptions of the villages and historic monuments and archaeological sites, the wild flowers and your meeting up with friendly dogs , ponies and cows. You bring parts of the world alive that would otherwise remain just unfamiliar locations on a map. Thanks Abbie, your the proverbial breath of fresh air.
Great fun to watch while I walk on my treadmill, very slowly after my knee replacement. You had such great weather most of this trek and wide open beautifully green views. Thank you for taking us all along with you.
Thank you Abbie for taking me with you on this beautiful and interesting walk.🌸Some years ago I walked a cirkular route in the Cotswolds from Cheltenham and had a lovelly time in this wonderful landscape.
Hooray! at last. I was wondering what had happened to this after your 'what I took on the Cotswold way' video. I'm glad to see you did it in the correct North South direction. Interesting that you found real campsites too, most of what I've read has had the Cotswold way down as a B&B or Wild camp path and it seems a bit too populated to wild camp so it's nice to see there are more options that the published camp sites.
Writing this is hard...its just so open to others im actually not ok with sharing.Anxiety is making me forget what I want to ask and I will cry...oh why...I know what I want to ask but can't.Ana
That was an absolute pleasure to watch , well done and thank you for sharing your adventures . Much love from your friends in Wales Ritchie and Raven x
Brilliant walk , well done Abbie - suffering from plantar fasciitis at the moment but hoping to be out and about soon again, like you I feel trapped being unable to be out walking it was my heaven and release
Thank you for posting this. I'm a keen hiker myself and returned to the hobby last summer after 5 years of rehab following a catastrophic health event. My first post-illness hike was the Cotswold Way. I thought it would be an easy step back into the hobby. It wasn't! I did it though. Maybe I should record my next adventure - you're an inspiration.
I subscribed for learning alpine trail stuff, picking up tips etc. This one though is interesting because I live in the cotswolds from about 46 to 1:20. Interesting perspective, growing up in Dursley on the Cotswold way, and seeing a pure walkers perspective of "golf clubs" of which I am a member of Stinchcombe Hill. But you didn't film out from the edge of the course at Drakestone point which is a glorious view of the Severn Vale into Wales, 11 counties can be seen on a clear day all the way up to the Mendips and Black Mountains, rather showing the 1st tee and 18th green! Looks like you took a wrong turn in Dursley at the Old Spot, you should've gone up the hill there (past my house), but from where you came out at the golf club looks like you turned around but didn't show it ;) Regardless, well done on this lesser shown trail :)
Thankyou Abbie for sharing that hike along the cotswold way. Lovely scenery. I do think you deserved a cake from the little cake shop. Connecting with nature is spiritually uplifting. I think you are connected with the universe.❤
Hi Abbie... To walk the hills and wild-camp is just a dream for me now. Gone is my past but my future is not going to be as it should. I have to live with what happened to me but i shall never forget your out-look on life. Thanks for all the memories.. Regards Mick...
Excellent. Thank you. The Cotswold Way has been on my bucket list for a long time. I need to figure out how to travel to the UK with my new service dog first, but I’m feeling freshly motivated after seeing this.
That Broadway Deli is unbelievably well stocked, they have the most delectable selection of cheese, sandwiches and their own homemade ice cream. That said, Stanton is the most picturesque village I have ever had the privilege to walk through. Gorgeous breathtakingly vistas all round. Thanks for the memories.
Lovely to see this. I used to live in Wotton-Under-Edge, so parts of this trail are old friends to me. Regarding your question about where the people who lived in the iron-age hill forts got their water: The permeable limestone is a cap over impermeable sandstone, which forces water out to the side a little below the top. If you look closely at the OS map, you can see a spring line contouring below the edge.
Brilliant film Abbie, it was an enjoyable watch. This really does look like a fantastic national trial worth doing. Absolutely beautiful scenery and countryside. Excellent viewing 😊😊😊😊
Oh, this film is glorious - thank you so much. It brought back very fond memories of an overnight walk I did with a youth group when I was 16. We walked from Cheltenham to Hailes Abbey and stopped at Belas Knapp for a breather. It belted down with rain all night, we got lost, but had a fantastic time.
This is fantastic. I grew up in Stroud and spent large parts of my childhood on those sections of the Cotswold Way. In recent years I've spent many many hours around Broadway Tower. Absolutely wonderful to see you enjoy so many familiar places.

I visited Bath in 1998. It was my first time out of the United States, other than Canada. It began my true lust for travel. Thanks for this lovely walk and for being YOU.
Nope, allow me to be 'blokey'. @27:50 I think, what you do is open the gate, climb up looking out, get the gate past your legs, climb down, and on your way! I've done the Cotswold's Way twice, last time about 25 years ago. A joy to be watching this. Subscribed!
Really enjoyed journeying with you. We have lived in a couple of the areas along the Cotswold Way and it was so nice to revisit on your hike. So good to see you back. Rib injuries are the worst. I never understood the term blinding pain until I pinched a nerve between my ribs. Hope you heal soon.
Abbie, I have watched so many of your videos. You are such an inspiration to me! I appreciate your vulnerability and authenticity. I can’t wait to get over to Europe and hike many of the trails you have shared on your channel. Keep being you and keep up the great work! You are amazing! Thanks for all you do.
I got lost driving from Oxford to Chipping Campden in the pitch dark years ago - it took hours. I should have just walked! Lol. Thanks for all of your inspiration.
Finished Day 2 and now must crash for the night. More tomorrow. What an amazing video this is -- a classic Wild video. You are in such great spirits, Abbie, and the scenery is a really nice combination of vistas and villages. I have been through the Cotswolds before on a coach, but it must be so much nicer to take the area in by foot, seeing all of the plants (those ancient trees!) and animals at walking speed. Thanks for sharing this, it's a delight.
Thank you Abbie. The wife came up with the idea to try walking so we went from Chippingcamp den to WInchcombe. It was the best walk I have ever been on and I am trying to talk to her about going back and doing the whole walk. Thank you for the great photography.
Really enjoyed your video Abbie, brought back many good memories of when I walked the Cotswold Way backpacking about three years ago. Stayed at a couple of the camp sites you did almost on the same piece of grass. Thanks Clive

One of the best walking and hiking video coverages on the UA-cam. Thanks Abbie.

Your probably her brother from another mother 😂 but do you think the cotswolds looks like Baltimore or Chicago??
Your videos are very naturals and your ever smiling face shows that you enjoy what you do. Congratulations
Thankyou Abbie for sharing that hike along the cotswold way. Lovely scenery. I do think you deserved a cake from the little cake shop.

Just wow! What a wonderful journey you have taken us on and such wise words. Thank you for sharing🏕
What a great video. Fond memories of completing the Bath to Cheltenham 60 mile Action Challenge ultra back in 2017. Well done Abbie.
Just what I needed after a rotten day at the office. Cheers!
And I really like it when you hike with Ann. Such a lovely Lady

And did those feet in Ancient times
Walk upon Englands Mountain Green
As an ex pat I am thoroughly enjoying walking with you
I now live on Phillip Island ( home of the little penguins)
100 miles south east of Melbourne
Many beautiful walks and wildlife/ birds
Five years ago I didn’t replace my car and my happy place is walking . A day without walking is like a day without air
So many beautiful churches through out the U K and historic places
Thanks Abbie and I’m sure you have inspired many people to embrace the outdoors.
Stays safe and well
Super fun video. Headed to Cotswold Way in two days and you have really inspired me. Thank you 😊

Have you heard of the possible cure for lupus as I recall hearing about it a few week's back.
@@westwater73 no I've not heard about any cures. Ive heard there's new medication. Ill research this cure. Thank you.
By far the best video of this walk I've seen yet.

Really enjoyed your video Abbie, brought back many good memories of when I walked the Cotswold Way backpacking about three years ago. Stayed at a couple of the camp sites you did almost on the same piece of grass.
Thanks
Clive
