I've always loved the look of the Theodore. It reminds me of one of my favorite guitar shapes of all time, the Tokai Talbo. Although, I think I'll wait for the affordable Epiphone version to consider it. Especially, if that turns out to be a Jr. take on it with a single P90.
Yeah, people shitting on it just makes me want it more.
I think I will wait for the inspired by Gibson Epiphone Theodore, so that I can spend 2500 instead of 2000.
Jokes aside, I never knew that model existed and I totally can't decide if I like it or not without playing it. I didn't like the Tele shape when I first got into guitar, it's my favorite to play.
On the other hand I like the Shape of Vs, Explorers and similar pointy "heavy" guitars but don't like playing them as much. I think after the initial phae were you need the guitar to look so stunning you always want to play it, so after a few weeks and you can start to call yourself a guitarist the shape doesn't matter as much.

So Andy, I have a confession. I've watched your videos for a while and have only just subscribed. I know, sorry. No reason other than just rushing through watching videos.
But..... Thank you for being one of the best sources of info for gear and unlike some channels, free from any particular genre of music. At least, not all weighed in one corner. Love your stuff, thanks so much!

I think a 60s melody maker headstock would make the Theodore better visually or just make a new headstock design
That Gibson Theodore looks interesting, but at $2000.00 for a somewhat unknown guitar, it might as well be $133,000.00!
I have had and enjoyed a '66 B25 and a '64 Les Paul Jr. but my favorite Gibson is William.
Rather have an Epiphone Coronet. They rock!

Man, beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder because that thing is FUGLY. They should have stuck with their gut instincts and never released it. Not sure this Cesar guy is doing the brand any favors.
You actually redesigned the Theodore to something I want. Never liked the look of it, but that white mock-up looked cool.

Epiphone Theodore; definitely not a hockey stick headstock.
My issue is the pickguard in the original sketch looks great, and they changed it to Lois Griffin's nose instead.
i find the “discourse” around the theodore fascinating. i personally love it, and think the design is superb, but *very* few people i’ve seen talking about it seem to like it. it’s definitely interesting to see different opinions.
not my favorite design (as far as gibsons, i’m a les paul girl all the way) but it’s definitely super different to most things out there. i’d like to see them do a 3+3 headstock, or lean into the tulip shape with pastel colors, but that’s just me
I’m also fascinated. I love it when people have strong opinions but there seems to be a lack of nuance as most things are these days. For example, I’m not a fan of the choice of headstock but I respect the bold choice. I would have liked to have seen a new style of headstock
Reminds me of a danelectro longhorn. I also liked that. Each time Gibson tries something new, there's an Internet meltdown. I'm awaiting the Theodore with Ezitune .
Gibson needs to release the Theordore in the Epiphone Line as an affordable Standard model. Yeah, they do....

6:00 - Amazon sells an Enya Carbon Fiber Guitar that looks exactly the same. Harley Benton probably asked Enya to make it for them with their name on the headstock..

Don't get what enya could be thinking with that move.. how do they expect to sell any of their own with the hb being £100 cheaper?

What are the odds of you reviewing the Vintage Guitars REVO Integra? That has really gotten my interest, and I am eager to see how the green/yellow burst looks. Finally, I can use a Varitone-ish circuit without a Tune-O-Matic bridge!
FWIW, there is a firmware update that gives everything in the CX to the older Catalyst amps

Yep, the headstock doesn’t match the body and in the sketch it looks more like a leaf. That would be cool.
I don't like the Theodore but I definitely see where it could grow on me. The headstock is really my only gripe with it. I like the body though

Shout out to Leave It To Beaver fans. That’s up to the individual to decide. I don’t like the hockey stick headstock at all but the body shape is ok for me.

And because the HB Travelmate is made of carbon fiber, it is not advised to play it anywhere in the vicinity of the Titanic due to the possibility of implosion.

I’m afraid I’m a stubborn guy. HB (Thomann) are now on my no go list. Last experience with them left me very disappointed with what was received and their follow-up customer service left me even further disappointed.

What happened
@@mylogify guitars were 25th anniversary. Telecaster showed up exactly as I expected with beautiful figuring in the roasted maple neck. The Stratocaster showed up with (and I’m being generous to call it this) 3 very slight stripes of figuring on the neck. I understand the nature of timber, but that guitar could in no way be classed as having a figured neck. My Epiphone SG has more figuring on its neck and I paid less for it. Customer Service only offered a refund on the guitar if I paid to send it back.
@@rudolphvanthoff1391 If only that issue then if it plays good I think that’s ok… My ST-62 had high frets, otherwise perfect, at 150 Euro, it made me a bit upset but found a nice cheap luthier here he leveled frets and now I love the guitar… Also bought nice pickups, nut, I like it now, and it gets played, very comfy neck.

I have had a line 6 amp with built in fx I find annoying as, the advancement of guitar fx outstrips what can be put into a guitar amp on a regular basis and also the fx in guitars amps ages really badly and makes many more links in breaking the amp that do not need to be there!!!
Andy, the Theodore IS flowers for the black eye. Not only because the body looks like a tulip, but because they're going to keep hurting you and bringing you back in with gifts. But at least it's an ugly guitar lol

That is a nice compressor but I believe the Origin Effects Cali 76 is the best and most expensive commonly available followed by the New Empress Effects compressor. The original Empress compressor lacked a fully adjustable ratio knob and had three fixed rates. Good but it needed the update that the newest version has.I have more compressors than any other type pedal. I should have simply cracked open my wallet and bought the Origin Effects compressor when they came out and skipped the half dozen others I have but I use the Origin when playing bass, my main instrument and use the Empress effects pedal on my guitar rig. I know.. such a first world problem to have multiple effects boards and have to choose. Too bad all of this wasn't available when I was in my 20s and a gigging slut bassist in NYC struggling. Now I'm an old dude can afford the toys and hardly play out. Enjoy the road my friends because its about the journey, not the destination. In the end we all go to the same destination. My firs bar gigs were in NYC at 15 and nobody cared how old we were or checked ID. It was great experience that many young musicians cant get these days.
Fairchilds, 1176's and LA 2A's each have their own reasons for existing, though.

Gibson thinks they can put their name on anything and people will buy it. Some will.

There's something kind of pussified about the Theo. The outreaching flower-pedal thing is feminine in nature. Submissive. Waiting to be pollinated. If ya catch my drift. Guitar is intrinsically male. Sure there is a curviness to guitars, but not in that already opened-up way. Us playing up and down the neck, is us coaxing sounds from the curvy body that it is resistant to giving up. We are 'taking' her. On our terms ... not because she's all abloom like a damn tulip. This is why we dig Teles that fight back when we play them. It's sexier when guitars - like women - play hard-to-get.
