I think it’s a cool passion project outside of that there’s not much about this game visually that stays true to Zelda. Looks like a completely different game. The color pallet for 3ds is much better.
I get that argument to an extent. But when OOT first released I'm sure there were people who felt that way about Zelda being in 3D. Or when BOTW released as an open world that wasn't really "true" to the Zelda style. It wouldn't be the first time Zelda went a little outside the box

Except that CryZENx after all this years still has not gained any knowledge about Unreal Engine. He's all about throwing the ugliest but highest poly models in the engine and crank the bloom and lens-flare intensity to the max without any care for performance and/or art-style. The entire presentation is just a hastily thrown together mess, in many parts he uses Quixel Megascans for trees, mountains and cliffs while right next to it he is using heavily stylized low poly assets. Lumen flickers extremely because he just cranked the values upto insane amounts to make the visuals look more flashy at first glance. This just feels more like highschool students first project if anything.
I'll admit, I don't know much about game design or what goes into it. But as a guy who grew up on N64 OOT, seeing these projects actually have a demo gets me so excited. Hopefully somebody out there sees this video and decides to do it even better!
bro said it "plays worse than the original" like c'mon, the 3DS inventory management is a game changer, and the game actually ran higher than 20fps, unlike the og.
To each their own, I was just disappointed by it, especially the animation and art style. But they def made a couple improvements, a lot of textures were way better for example
I'm ngl I hate unreal engine remakes of oot. Wow, such polygons! Much lighting! Ok? It looks soulless. The 3ds remake is a faithful adaptation that improves on the original without going overboard and it looks great. Give that a hd port on a home console and you're chilling.
To each their own. I think the cartoony style of OOT3D doesnt do it justice. Both OOT and MM have really dark undertones and I think the more realistic style portrays that really well.
@@ARCHIT3CT It's jarring. You have the hyper realistic ray tracing hitting a super stylised link and it makes him look uncanny and off putting. There are problems with excessive lighting and the well is overly censored but that's fixable. Besides that it's just flatly better across the board.
@@sheridan5175 Nobody is trying to say that THIS looks perfect. I agree that the stylized link doesnt quite fit here. There are definitely tweaks that can be made, but the setting itself looks great imo, and serves as proof of concept that you CAN make a hyper-realistic remake look great
I’m going to disagree on OoT3D playing worse. The combat is much better and the spin attacks from rotating the control stick actually function. And it’s a heck of a lot more functional than the garbage Switch port of the N64 version. As for the UR fan game, it’s hit or miss for me. A lot of it looks great, but some of the faces have too much uncanny valley and look really bad. Young Link is missing the shoulder strap he mounts his scabbard on (which was fixed in the 3DS version so I don’t know why he decided not to include it), and he doesn’t really give any gameplay improvements (not even any of the gameplay improvements from the SpaceWorld 1997 demo) and he does go way too overboard with his lighting.
