The idea of being kept in the pattern buffer for extended periods of time being advanced on for rescue operations is such a cool idea dude. Bravo!
Thank you, Thank you ;) :P
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics I really believe you should create your own sci fi
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics will we get a Excalibur and vasper truth or mith?
Not gonna lie. I get legitimately excited when a Truth, or Myth Beta video drops.
Well thank you so much! High praise indeed :)
Same!
Sane here!!!
STO has been going so long, the Odyssey class is showing its age.
LOL Something like that :P
LOVE THESE VIDEOS!!! Presented as a historical documentary!
Glad you like them! :)
I would have liked the Verity class to be the Precursor to the odyssey Class in the 2380s
While the Odyssey would be the official complete design in the 2403 starting with the launch of the Enterprise F
In the 2411 it would be updated to the Yorktown, Sojourner and Endeavor Varients following the Iconian War
And eventually the Lexington Varient based on Terran Empire designs
A natural progression for the transporter's extended period pattern buffer would be for such use on colony ships, thus saving resources. Think of the possibilities!
Exactly :)
The long term large scale pattern buffer storage is a game changer for expanding the Federation. The implications are enormous, especially when the industrial replicators are considered as well; just for setting up a new colony a single Verity class could construct a fully established colony with orbital facilities as well, and populate it with tens of thousands of personnel all on one long range trip.
It could _shake and bake_ a substantial Federation presence.
A region that Voyager once went through could have a fully stocked Starfleet garrison spring up overnight without warning. And if it's own replicator and shipyard facilitates are created, then it's like taking territory in a strategy game … _"this is now my fully formed civilisation"._
And then there's the nefarious possibilities… forcefully relocating a population without them even knowing until after the fact - assuming that a Star Trek Insurrection plan where the destination is identical to the origin isn't used.
It could also finally end the moral quandary of the Prime Directive leaving a pre warp species to die on a doomed planet. Just resettle the entire population elsewhere and hope they don't notice the constellations …
And as for warfare, once you occupy a planet you can keep the enemy civilian population on ice instead of having to control them and fight a insurgency.. You could even dump them somewhere else far far away and without technology.
Then there's the battlefield use of; once a enemy ships shields are down, their entire crew can be put into storage, and then downloaded later at a military interment camp for debriefing.
The covert ops possiblities are endless.
The last time somebody called a colony a "shake and bake colony" it didn't end well for them.
@@admiralsquatbar127There's something on the Tricorder...
Analysing lifeform readings, acid for blood? Yep, that's them.
Okay, set your phasers at maximum so that it'll be disintegrated and the acid won't be an issue.
It's coming through the roof in 5..4..3..
[Zap]
_"What about the others?"_
Trapped behind a force field.
Hang on a sec, transporter control?
Yes scan for any humanoid lifeforms that have one of those critters on their face and beam them directly to the secured sickbay. The Doc can use a micro transporter to remove the xeno embryo without harming the host.
Oh non humanoid host?
Yeah beam them out as well. That's how this infestation started, someone didn't notice their pet was missing and gotten infected.
I'm still jazzed about the idea of seeing the Enterprise-F in Picard Season 3! BTW, it would be funny if the crew of the Verity, faced with evacuating colonists and storing them in the transporter buffer, called the operation "pulling a Scotty." 😁👍
I've been hoping for a Verity Truth or Myth.
Ta da! Lol :) Hope you enjoy!
I always stop what im doing when i see you posted a video !! They are just the best you are truly underrated
My favorite sauser and nacelle pylons, there part of my head cannon odyssey. With the other parts being Yorktown. I cannot get enough of this ship, I'm beyond elated that it's cannon now.
I was so hesitant about watching this channel, but I feel foolish, cause I've become addicted to seeing your stories on the various beloved Starship Classes from Star Trek.
Thank you so much! But why so hesitant?
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics honestly don't know probably cause I ran into goofy channels who just didn't care, not sure honestly
Well thank you for giving me a try :)
Hello, Dave, and Happy 2023! So glad you're back. Great vid.
👍 always smile when you release a new video..thank you
You are too kind! :)
A few years ago I came across a, now defunct, website that novelised their trek rpg sessions. The ship was an original design called the: Starknight-class. They called it an evolution on the excelsior class and the ship looks like an amalgamation of the excelsior, the prometheus, and intriped designs. It's most notable, and noticeable design feature was her warp engines. Instead of the standard dual warp engine designs, the warp engine was instead a singular, oval-shaped engine ring that was horizontally mounted onto the engine struts.
If there was ever a fan made starship design to note, the Starknight-class was a good one.
really enjoy this video, thanks for doing a video on the verity class ... one of my fav... if not all ships in trek ... there's a few exceptions but im a starfleet design lover!
Glad you enjoyed it and you're definitely in good company ;)
Advancement is always a wonderful thing...
I want to fly this now. Good video!
Thank you :)
Beautiful ship
It sure is
I enjoy hearing about your current version of the past history of future Starfleet vessels... 😏
Wow. Imagine being stuck in a transporter for a couple of weeks.... Maybe like death? Lol
Maybe, though probably more of a not noticing anything at all!
Oh I could smell a cross over storyline
The Verity has a slipstream incident & runs arcoss Capt Dylan Hunt and his ship the Andromeda Ascendant
LOL
This one and the Odyssey class before kind of had me wondering if Starfleet might end up going big again with crew accommodations and such like in more idealistic periods. Though I don't play STO and imagine that involves a lot of everyone fighting and all that. But I always thought there was a place for the Galaxy class idea of like being a research university town in space, for like a truly spacefaring civilization. Just maybe one that doesn't by default kinda send such facilities into the teeth of things when a warship would be called for. Or, just, yaknow, fewer civilians when they really don't know who or what's out on the frontiers.
When its new and improved in-game model comes out, it would be great to see a ToM for the Hestia class
Dont worry, Ill put in on my to do list :P
Well Done!
Thank you!
At first I enjoyed the arrow/delta shape of the "saucer" evolution (thinking warp field tech-no-know-able warp field geometry myths, etc). Now I am finding the more actual "saucer" shape I corporated is preferred. 🙂
Wow very nice Video. Like it very much
Thank you so much 😀
I hope the Enterprise G would be a Verity Class.
I feel like Starfleet is the only organization that looks at a ship that's only a couple of decades (or less) in service and deems it too old to continue without decommissioning or a radical refitting haha
Great vid altogether, the Odyssey is one of my favorites!
This is my order of ship release. Endeavor class < Sojourner class < Verity class < Odyssey < Yorktown < Lexington.
Another great story 👏 👌
Glad you enjoyed it :)
I like the Verity class way more than the Odyssey class.
Now do the Yorktown class or maybe the Sojourner class 👍🏼👍🏼
i love STO
Indeed!
I've had this idea that one of the advantages the federation should have is in replicator and transporter technology. I could see after or as a result of the dominion war. They would develop the ability to replicate a complete space frame and only need insert the need equipment for the design. Of course the only downside is the huge amount of energy needed to do so. Any thoughts?
I’ve been on the fence about starting a STO account but, with so many ships moving from Beta to Alpha canon AND these wonderful narratives you offer here, I’m thinking I should give it a go!
The Verity variant should have been the one decommissioned while the Enterprise F fly's alongside it's half sibling of it's class in Picard.
I love this. I think this is my favorite new ship
Can you do a series on Starfleet fighter craft? I feel like there is a lot to be done with this.
Thank you for these videos. I love seeing how the various ships came about.🙂
Im actually working on something like that, but it's getting the 3D models that's the problem!
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics I understand that. Thank you so much for the response also.
Not a problem Keith :)
Have you mapped out the galaxy and to give the people a perspective of where everything is, especially important moments of time and planets' locations?
waiting to see a new ship equipped with a Beta Cannon laser weapon...haha🙂
LOL, maybe Ill include it in a future story, just for you :P
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics 🙂
“Lasers” those wont even cur through our navigation shields
I wish they'd bring back the foundry I'd renew my subscription if they did.
🤔 I'm surprised no one has married iconian gateway tech with any particular ship design the premise is sound and it'd cut down on material cost for starships it'd also phase out transporters and turbo lifts
Looks like the Ambassador/Oddesey classes had a baby. Kinda like it, but at the same time, prefer the original Oddesey class.
I don't know a lot about the "expanded universe" as it were, so forgive my ignorance. Could the crew go into temporary transporter stasis while the EHCRS handles an extreme emergency?
That would be an absolute possibility if the need to do so were to present itself.
I’m still partial to the Lexington subclass, I love the story presented here about the Verity. I’m surprised that ToM didn’t mention that it was Admiral Picard’s flagship during the Romulus Relocation project.
I did have a line in the script about it... The audio I record for each of these videos is often times about 1/3rd longer then ever makes it in to the video. I cut out things that Ive said repeatedly in other videos, or dont really add anything to the current video in order to keep the pacing of the video nice and tight :)
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics No worries, sir. Thank you for the clarification.
No problem, any time :)
The Verity-class should have been the Enterprise-G
I always thought of the verity as the step before the Odyssey
And yet it never was! :P
Give me the Original Oddessy or atleast the prefection that is the Yorktown class.
Was the auxillary ship removed during the refit? I never saw during the video?
That's correct :)
The only thing with the transporters being able to store bio-matter for weeks is why the Federation didn’t use it to save more from Earth and N’var when the Gravitational Anomaly was headed our way in the 3200’s
How do you know they didnt? We dont know how they evaluated people, and even the transporters on these ships would have limits!
If the Odyssey is an Xbox1 then the Verity is a Series S and the Lexington is a Series X
This redesign is better than is origan.
I dont know about that, I think both are great!
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics The arrowhead shape was fine, but I tend to like old-school Trek. ^~^
There is also the Yorktown Class variant of the odyssey class.
A ship is a dead god Aphrotrite 🌹🌑👍 rest in the good news 💐 Okay bye
My kitbash doesn’t use any of the odessey parts
Sorry what?
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics on Star Trek online I have a kitbash of it for my engineering toon
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics endeavor saucer, sojourner plyons, verity necelles, sojourner hull, I wish in sto the Lexington weapons would be their own parts becuz I would then add those, yea sojourner pylons aren’t very stream line and hated the ambassador and galaxy’s plyons but idk for some reason I like them
When I think about the technology they needed to develop to hold a life-form in the transporter pattern buffer for extended periods of time I can only wonder how they tested it? It only stands to reason that there would have been failures during testing. Since this was designed to hold life forms in the buffer a failure would have meant a life form being destroyed.
Given the United Federation of Planets ideals and philosophy of honoring all life forms of any type, how would they have justified any failures?
Oh Oh, you must have missed it in the story, as I explained all testing was done using specially design modules... No species were hurt in the making of this video ;)
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics yes I certainly did miss that part. Thanks for your clarification on that. Live long and prosper 🖖
Not a problem at all Carl :) Peace and Long Life :)
Does the Odyssey or the Verity have Captain's Yachts?
Im sure it does, but there's no canon information on that!
The Verity class appears smaller than the Odessy class.
It isnt!
So they had to make weak points stronger for trans warp, but left the huge hole in the neck? Seems odd.
That "Hole" in the Neck is directly related to a class this size being able to achieve Slipstream in that Era of Starship Development... So, not odd at all!
Odyssey is a great-looking class! Just like Nebula and Steamrunner in their ways. Prefer the original hull.
Really? I love the Odyssey, but kind of prefer this hull profile! To each their own ;) :P
Don’t get me wrong love your videos but in the odyssey one you say the verity core lost and thus the verity got the augmented standard core
Im sorry but you are incorrect, in the Odyssey Video I say the same thing, that the Quantum Slipsteam Drive (In the Verity) was the winner... ua-cam.com/video/sWOCU6sCwHQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=TriAngulumAudioStudios
"By the end of the testing phase however, it was clear that the Quantum Slipstream Drive had been the clear winner in the propulsion race, and so Starfleet recalled the USS Odyssey back to Utopia Planitia to refit it's systems to include the same type of Quantum Slipstream Core containined with in the Verity."
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics ua-cam.com/video/9bJfgCGDkuA/v-deo.html Yeah but not in this one a few years back :)
Oh, you mean BEFORE Canon changed Beta Canon? :P You need to keep up :P
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics but canonically we know only the dauntless to have a working slip stream drive or am I wrong actually this has been a source of confusion for me the verity remains even with the ent f only beta or soft canon at best …
No, you're assuming that only the Dauntless has slipstream, but it's never said... And given the year, how the ship simply engages the Slipstream dream with no worries, as well as Beta Canon references, the Slipstream Drive is the clear winner now! Thus the change, and new Odyssey Video, and this video!
There's no such thing as "soft" canon, though the Verity is Beta Canon... But the Odyssey Class will be canon in season 3 of Star Trek: Picard
