I currently like to use the Agnaktor X head, chest, and arms with the Vangis X waist and G. Knight X greaves. 670 def. Fire Atk +3, Mind's Eye, Razor Sharp, Ice res +15, and Iron Wall(set requires 3 slot weapon). Talisman is +11 to ice res and 3 slots I also use the Kushala X set. 748 def. Evasion +1, Recovery Speed +2, Focus, Critical Eye +1, Tremor Res, and Double Poison (set requires 2 slot weapon) Talisman is +12 to recovery speed and 0 slots. My main weapons are Pavaka Blade GS (needs upgrading still), Stygian Acedia GS, Ukanlos Skydicer LS, Lugen/Verite SnS, Crossdrills DB (needs upgrading still, Desmos Admonition H, Steadfast Aegis L (needs upgrading still), Daora's Thwartoise CB, and Hellruin Glaive "Omen" IG. Phew, that was a long comment!

Just saying for your sleep charged blade I'd recommend the miku miku mi armorset. It has some nice skills like abnormal status up and hg earplugs. Gaijan hunter(sorry if I misspelled that) did a video on it. I have it and it's great.
Latent Power activates if you take 180 damage over a 5 minute period. Meaning if you get hit for 50 damage a clock will start ticking, if you take the other 130 damage (130+50 = 180) within those 300 seconds it will activate. That counts damage going through shields. It can also activate from being engaged (in the same area as) a large monster that knows you're there for a set time, this timer doesn't reset when the monster / you leaves but it will stop, and start counting again when you're engaged to the monster again. When it activates it gives you something like 25-30% affinity and 75% reduced stamina usage (at least for Latent Power +2, reduced effects for Latent Power +1).

I have already begun the march down the path to get chernobug's scythe, and have been using sleep bombing and sleep/ultra combo to the upmost effect, with great results. Currently at G2 GS user. And I gotta say, Seregios X + Seregios GS = a great all-around equip setup. I never have to sharpen, natural purple sharpness, no deflecting, it's just wonderful. I was also lucky enough to have a +10 attack talisman, and after decorating I have attack up XL. Not to mention Constitution+2. I am curious though, what are some other recommended end-game GS? If you have an opinion, I know you're not a GS user.
Sevrin I would argue that the Molten Tigrex great sword is one of the best in the game. 1440 Raw, 25% Affinity, 2 slots and purple sharpness with Sharpness +1 and if you are able to make a set with awaken as well then it also has 400 Blast/Slime.
Sevrin The problem with Regios sets is that they have pretty bad resistances. If I remember correctly all of its elemental resistances are negative except for fire resistance. That doesn't mean much in Low, High, and even early G rank. But when you get to G3 / Urgent G rank quests, those negative resistances will be the difference between losing 80% of your health to an attack and getting OHKO'd. But yeah, I loved the seregios sets in high rank, and pretty much exclusively used that armor all the way up until my G rank seregios set. After that I started making specific sets for different skills and resistance. Right now I'm at 7 full sets of G rank rarity 10 armor, and have a different armor set for almost any fight / circumstance. HAPPY HUNTING!

Despite loving how the Charge Blades look and fight, I find myself drawn back to my beloved Greatswords! Nothing like ripping a wing off a Rathalos only to make a fiery weapon from it to beat lesser monsters to death with. XD Good times, good times...
My recommendation for any setup where you have 5 open slots and don't know what to fill them with is just to gem in speed sharpening with grinder jewels. That or just cover up a weakness.

I like G.Swords, Hammers, L.Swords, and Bows, and Charge Blades, and Dual Blades. (Listed half of the weapon types like a pro.) I prefer G.Sword the most I think though.
My favorite and always has been is the LS, my favorites out of those are the headmans Requite, one of my favorite because of the scythe look, not the fastest sleep but it still helps, kibamaru, it looks awesome and does lots of water element, and then orcus nitorus because who doesn't love the zinogre
My main one is a full Star Knight set(it's a DLC set from a while ago), the Hazy Caster insect glaive, and I gemmed in the rest of the handicraft skill. This set gives me handicraft, rodeo god, challenger +2, and edge master. I'll also swap in the Hellruin Glaive "Omen" on hunts with multiple monsters, monsters that resist poison, and when I really need to break parts on the monsters, and I leave the rest of my slots and talismans open for customization for any hunt. I just love the Star Knight set because it looks fantastic and is perfect for insect glaives, and, while I do have a bunch of other mixed sets for different situations and weapon types(this is pretty much just for insect glaive. If I want to use a different weapon, as rarely as that happens, I need to choose a completely different set because rodeo god becomes almost useless and there isn't enough room to gem in all the other, more preferable abilities), the fact that it looks so awesome and is so adaptable for anything I need by simply changing what gems or weapon I'm using is what makes it my favorite by far.
ive been playing mostly with cb, haven't really gotten far enough to see a bunch of them, but i crafted the kaiser blade early and ive been rather attached to it. haven't crafted one that is completely better than it yet at least.

Do people still play this game in 2018? Because I'm considering buying a 3ds xl or 2ds xl just to play this game. I'm at the end game in MHW and pretty much don't know what else to do in it. In the meantime I would like to play something else with much more variety.
I'm in a discord server with people who play the game very regularly, but you're better off buying a switch if you don't already have one to get Generations Ultimate. So much more variety than 4U

Besides is not that I hate GU or anything and I actually like the idea of hunting styles but to be honest with you I think 4U looks better than GU but that's just me.
Hey Arekkz can you make a video tutorial on when the optimal times to use a wystone is during a hunt? (I've scoured for the answer online, and I feel like I'm kind of just winging it :/
I've read online that the best time to use them is when the frenzied monster is trapped? Bottom line is because the wystone has such a short duration, I have trouble completing the damage necessary to revert it to it's pre-frenzy state

Yo, I have one important question. In 3U there were a few different ,,groups" of charms you could obtain, and when you created your character you were given one of these groups, wich could not be changed (Except if you made a new character). Is this still the case in 4, because in 3 I didnt necassarily have the best group... I hope someone understands what Im trying to ask an can give me a good answer! :)
I'm confused on how to upgrade weapons and armor I've got the complete set of zamtrios armor and I have the meaty press but when I go look at what I need to upgrade the weapon in says zamtrios fin+ I'm not sure what that means is it something that I can oly get later in the game or what ?
michael maydole The + on materials means it is high rank. You will need to get to HR4 or high rank village to obtain those materials from Zamtrios. Help this helps :)
To rank up,(Village and Online quests) you need to do the key quests of the category. For example, to get to HR1-HR2, I would have to complete certain quests. Go on the wiki for all these. Once you have finished Village rank 6, high rank unlocks. For the Online, you need to complete the first 3 ranks. Also, go online and ask for help with your quests if you are having trouble. Most players will gladly help you improve. If people are being rude, ignore them and find better players.

There is no difference between a key quest and a normal quest. but if you want to find out which quests are key quests you should look at the monster hunter wiki
Okay guys if you could help me with this it would be great. So I am currently in rank 3 with kecha armor and a haxilon blade. I was wondering if it's a good idea to get the tigrex armor or should I farm for something else?
If your good enough you should be able to survive until high rank. If you make it to high rank you should farm the high rank tetsucabra for hrs 3-5. Then for hrs 6 and 7 farm the azure rathalos or the Stygian zinogre. If you don't make it to high rank farm the low rank nerscylla and upgrade it or farm the low rank zinogre and trade it's parts for nargacuga armor (this is just my personal experience).
+Chaos Blade Gaming It's pretty good for Hammer users, judging from the innate skills alone. Add to that the ability to gem in at least Atk Up (M) and Evade Extender on the armor alone, and I'd say it's a solid set.
+Andrew Mikolajczyk How long is SHOULD or how long it can take? Because you can get carried to G-rank in a day or two. But if you actually play the game I'd say 3-4 weeks playing casually should be long enough.
+TechoXero I would say probably a bit longer than that. Especially if you are just starting. Remember the learning curve your first monster hunter game is steep. Throwing you curveballs when you reach high rank and G rank.
+Andrew Mikolajczyk It took me 6 months. But I was playing with 3 others, 2 of which don't have much time to play, so a lot of time was spent with me and one friend farming up a ton of weird, funny armor sets for the fun of it.

Also you cannot do G rank quests if you are not G rank yourself. And last but not least he has moved on quite a while ago.

Sevrin the flame fatalis blade does 1200 and 1000 fire with 20 aff, but it's got tiny white, blue, and green sharpness
I recommend Stygian Acedia. 3 slots, 1296 Atk, 550 Drgn.

I'm a GS user, currently using the Ostracon Oblivion and sometimes use the Vulca Vendetta with gemmed in Mind's Eye.

My favourite weapon I own is the Dios Rod Insect Glaive but I am working on to getting the first Shrouded Nerscylla Charge Blade!

Yanex I think it's just because he hasn't upgraded any lightning weapons, I'm sure he has some, and they're just as good as most other weapons.

Also maybe because there aren't many thunder charge blades. The only one I can find is the sentinel blade line.

Yo, I have one important question.
In 3U there were a few different ,,groups" of charms you could obtain, and when you created your character you were given one of these groups, wich could not be changed (Except if you made a new character).
Is this still the case in 4, because in 3 I didnt necassarily have the best group...

I'm confused on how to upgrade weapons and armor I've got the complete set of zamtrios armor and I have the meaty press but when I go look at what I need to upgrade the weapon in says zamtrios fin+ I'm not sure what that means is it something that I can oly get later in the game or what ?
michael maydole The + on materials means it is high rank. You will need to get to HR4 or high rank village to obtain those materials from Zamtrios. Help this helps :)
When and how do I get to high rank I'm very new to this game and I'm confused on so many things lol like the slots on armor and those type of things
To rank up,(Village and Online quests) you need to do the key quests of the category. For example, to get to HR1-HR2, I would have to complete certain quests. Go on the wiki for all these. Once you have finished Village rank 6, high rank unlocks. For the Online, you need to complete the first 3 ranks. Also, go online and ask for help with your quests if you are having trouble. Most players will gladly help you improve. If people are being rude, ignore them and find better players.

There is no difference between a key quest and a normal quest. but if you want to find out which quests are key quests you should look at the monster hunter wiki
Okay guys if you could help me with this it would be great. So I am currently in rank 3 with kecha armor and a haxilon blade. I was wondering if it's a good idea to get the tigrex armor or should I farm for something else?
If your good enough you should be able to survive until high rank. If you make it to high rank you should farm the high rank tetsucabra for hrs 3-5. Then for hrs 6 and 7 farm the azure rathalos or the Stygian zinogre. If you don't make it to high rank farm the low rank nerscylla and upgrade it or farm the low rank zinogre and trade it's parts for nargacuga armor (this is just my personal experience).

+Chaos Blade Gaming It's pretty good for Hammer users, judging from the innate skills alone. Add to that the ability to gem in at least Atk Up (M) and Evade Extender on the armor alone, and I'd say it's a solid set.
Generally how long should it take for me to reach G-Rank?
+Andrew Mikolajczyk How long is SHOULD or how long it can take? Because you can get carried to G-rank in a day or two. But if you actually play the game I'd say 3-4 weeks playing casually should be long enough.
+TechoXero I would say probably a bit longer than that. Especially if you are just starting. Remember the learning curve your first monster hunter game is steep. Throwing you curveballs when you reach high rank and G rank.
It took my about 300 hours to get into g rank but that's kinda because I finished the story first

But I was playing with 3 others, 2 of which don't have much time to play, so a lot of time was spent with me and one friend farming up a ton of weird, funny armor sets for the fun of it.

I am G3 and have Kecha Z armor and fully upgraded rathalos bowgun. Honestly I don't even need to make new armor.... Everything one shots gunner anyways XD

+Dami Dami lol, beggar. Cannot trade any monster items anyways. Only normal items that are below rank 3. items which you mostly can get yourself within 5 minutes of starting the game.
Also you cannot do G rank quests if you are not G rank yourself.
And last but not least he has moved on quite a while ago.

I've had to pretty much solo my way to G Rank, because I play for fun and not as a career. I have no idea what you mean by me having bigger problems, I don't think I've commented on this channel before, not even subscribed to it.
