Donna Reed simply was a touch of class!
Donna Reed was such class. A beautiful and eloquent lady. Totally of another era compared to today's "stars".
Beautiful lady, had all the qualities, style & character sadly missing in 99% of today's 'stars' - thanks to film, though, she'll never be forgotten !. Forever 'Mary Bailey' !!!!
I feel sad for Donna Reed, she was so beautiful innocent and talented, Its a Wonderful Life was an absolute masterpiece, but apparently Jimmy Stewart blamed her for the movie doing badly at the box office, this broke my heart, it must have broken hers too. She then went on to win an Oscar Award
Why would I blame her?
I have heard that, too. I wonder how well Jimmy and Donna got along on set while making this film. Their onscreen chemistry contributed so much to making this movie the great classic it is. I could not imagine anyone else playing those roles. I hope that Jimmy later apologized to Donna for putting the film's initial failure on her shoulders, especially once it became so beloved in reruns. Jimmy Stewart always seemed liked such a nice, considerate man in interviews. I would like to think that he patched things up with Donna. Anyway, here's to George and Mary Bailey!
He attended her funeral. He wrote on a photo I sent to him:"This is my favorite picture and Donna was warm and friendly."
@@gatewayski1 Oh, that makes me happy to know. Thanks!
Never heard this. Why wad it het fault out of everyone in the picture?
An absolutely classy lady. We were lucky to have her, whether it be on then big screen or the small one. And everybody loved her, the ones who knew her.
Every Christmas Eve for 68 years, and counting...
I am honored to share the same namesake Donna Reed with her. I watched the Donna Reed show as a young girl and was thrilled to tell children in my neighborhood that I was Donna Reed! Enjoyed watching her in all her movies and shows throughout the years.
I am now an “old” lady still watching Its A Wonderful Life every December! What a treat. ❤️
I hope Miss Reed realized how much joy she brought to her audiences both in her films and TV series.
One of the most beautiful woman in the world.
RIP Donna Reed
When one thinks of "class act" Donna Reed comes to mind!!!
natural beauty
Still watching it in 2020 ! 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
She's legend 🙌
What a beatuful woman!!!!!!!
Donna Reed was a very pretty lady❤
Miss Ellie 2.0 ...am glad she sued Dallas successfully for removing such a big star so brutally from the soap to let Barbara Bel Geddes back!
👏👏👏👏👏👏
George Baily & Marry Hatch,
You've just witnessed what is sadly lacking in the world today...class and dignity.
There's a secret that men do not tell..even each other. When Donna Reed was on the screen, she was the most beautiful woman in the world. Forget Taylor, Gardner, and Monroe. Donna took us completely over the side. It's our secret that we don't tell our girlfriends, or our wives. To see her in another extraordinary film, watch her in John Ford's They Were Expendable. She'll take your heart and give it back to you wide open and ecstatic. Here's to the one, and only, Donna Reed.
I always thought she was so beautiful that the whole show could have centered just around her ... so beautiful , so classy , so much what we all imagined what our mother looked like when they were young .
soooooo gorgeous !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sclogse1 don’t forget From Here To Eternity.
And here I thought I was the only one! Thank you
@@fifthbusiness1678 hear hear! from another Robertson Davies fan : )
no matter who i "see" -- and some of you may know -- i will never see a person as lovely and engaging as Donna Reed.
*LoveSigh*
xo
shaylie
In that film, playing with John Wayne, she showed her wide range of true acting ability.
Donna Reed was one of the best underrated actresses since the invention of motion pictures! She was the B E S T !
I loved her from Andy Hardy on, and we shared a birthday,
Donna Reed was wonderful actress
I only wish Donna Reed would have lived longer but am grateful she was around to see her movie, "It's A Wonderful Life" become a classic holiday tradition.
But lest us not forget her other cinema roles and unforgettable TV show that bears her name.
She seemed like a wonderful, caring and classic lady - terribly missed in our increasingly fast-paced and egocentric society.
R.I.P. Donna
What a gracious and beautiful lady, and one who didn't have very long left to live. We sure don't have any Donna Reeds around anymore, and the world is a shabbier place for it.
Donna Reed was such a lovely person.❤️
This is when moviestars were true moviestars! Not like any of the crap today! Donna reed a true icon!!!!! love her
Every Christmas for 75 years. I just watched it again, as I do every year. A stunningly beautiful woman with great dignity and class. Every man's dream.
A beauty and a class act. Few actresses today can compare. Here we are, 70 years later and what man wouldn't want "Mary" as his gal. Brains, beauty, grit, gumption and that girl next door sexiness. Sad to say, but far too many "bitches" in today's society need to study Donna to discover what it means to be a woman. The telephone scene? Too romantic!! Rare on the screen today.
@Kitdor Blah oh sorry cunt bags!!
I could watch that movie 1000 times and never get tired of it. That woman was so beautiful and amazing!!!
She was more than just Mary Bailey. She was great in that film that still has its timelessness, but, she was also great in From Here To Eternity as Alma/Lorene.
the more I see The Donna Reed Show, the more I realize what a superb example of ensemble acting it is! . Donna Reed, along with Shelley Fabares Paul Peterson, and the glue of that acting ensemble: Carl Betz! He was wonderful!
Lovely woman!
This is one woman I would have loved to have met. She gave the world one of the best presents to celebrate the holidays: a traditional movie. Many thanks to Frank Capra, Jimmy Stewart, and women like Donna Reed. Well before their time.
And..she became a Queen of Television . A Wonferful actress.
She was so beautiful.
Still beautiful.
love Donna
Certainly dont make women like Ms. Reed much any more.
Natural beauty..and talent......I had a crush
she was great
stunning and charismatic
An other beautiful lady of cinema!
Frank Thank You Donna letting me live the era with you and Jimmy relives every thing again,Stu Ranger 19 somthing
Donna Reed... always so beautiful.
She was really a brunette, but as you can see ... a classy blonde!
What a 'lady' of such class and talent! We will never see the likes of a Donna Reed again. :(
still beautiful...
What a waste that "It's A Wonderful Life" was underrated and they blamed her in order to unburden their own insecurities, opting to convict a young woman who was comparatively naive. Of course the haunting mental state after war is not something one could understand without experiencing it but the choices made by frustration usually result in regret as in here. They could've worked together again, in "The Stratton Story", since Stewart and Reed were getting on well with each other on set. This situation as a whole is an example of the fact that time and chance are unredeemable things... Her speech carries subtle satire delivered with such grace, a lot to learn from it...
Richard Dreyfuss in the audience.. I love Dreyfuss
This is wonderful
She was a G O R G E O U S WOMAN ...
A young man's wet dream of an older women .
sh was soooo gorgeous
She wasn't a blonde but a brunette person!!
Thats when Hollywood was Hollywood
0 33- 0 38 is that Ernest Borgnine?
i wonder if he tapped major ass in his prime.
dr strangelove Yes
dr strangelove. Yes!
And then she was in 23 more movies.
Besides my wife, Donna Reed was, in my opinion and on this entire planet thee most attractive woman, ever.
Was nice of you to mention your wife 1st. I consider you to be a classy gentleman 👏
STILL beautiful until the very end. What class !
+40 years...my family's overall favorite film!
She is bar none one the most beautiful women I've ever scene on or offscreen. She was taken from us way to soon & I was only 11 when it happened. I'm a late bloomer & new to the fold as far as Donna being on my radar yet it saddens me deeply when I think how she died & being so young. She was STUNNING & more importantly I Love what she stood for🙏🏻❤😔😢
Donna Reed passed away less than four years later of pancreatic cancer. She was just 64 years of age. Gone before her time, but she is not forgotten.
Donna Reed is truly one of the most beautiful actresses who ever graced the silver screen. I lost count a long time ago how many times I’ve watched it’s A Wonderful Life, but every single time when Donna comes on screen for the first time at the school dance, my heart skips a beat.
What a treasure she was.
She was the only one who could play Mary Bailey! It's her I remember most about that movie!
I saw it last Christmas Eve- 2019
And yet they (Stewert & Capra.) foolishly blamed Donna for the failure of the movie after it came out.
So beautiful, so talented, and equally so humble.
What a class act!!! Love her❤
True, but she did win an oscar.
it's a wonderful tribute
Died 4 years later of pancreatic cancer
Very touching 😢 🥰
Miss u Donna Reed ♥
Beautiful ❤️
Beautiful lady
Every Christmas.. Every single one. RIP to the cast and Frank Capra.
Going on 75 years and counting.... though I don’t much care for the film, I respect the cultural impact, and the joy it continues to bring.
Cutie
Today’s Hollywood should take notes!!!
Quien no ha amado a Donna Reed .... QEPD ...por siempre ♥️
hermosaaaaaaaaaaa!! mujer!! bella!!! bella! bella!!!
A Wonderful Life and a wonderful lady.
Beautiful woman
голос прекрасный. и внешность.
She may have been a great Mary Bailey, but she was no Miss Ellie.
She should be grateful to Capra; Stewart didn't want her; thought she was too young and inexperienced. He preferred someone like Jean Arthur (who would have also been great in that role). But Capra cast her and she was wonderful. My family is Filipino and one Christmas highlight we have every year is watching It's A Wonderful Life...
Later on Jimmy said he couldn't imagine another actress playing Mary Bailey than Donna Reed and regretted everything he thought of her earlier
@@ericburns9132 I did not know that. Thank you.
Well they had ridiculous chemistry on camera. Honestly, can you name a post WW2 film where he didn't have it?
