When I was a teenager in the 70’s I loved hard rock especially Zep and AC/DC. My brother brought this album home and said “ you gotta listen to this!” I looked at the cover and said “Dreamboat Annie?!” You have to be kidding. He played me “Crazy On You” and blew my mind. I’ve been a Heart fan ever since
I saw Heart in 1977, they blew me away considering how musically powerful they were. Ann’s voice was so powerful at that time, I thought the rafters we’re going to come down on us, simply amazing! I was a 17-year-old boy at the time and was obviously taken aback by their beauty... but what’s really amazing is that their music was so phenomenal, that the attraction quickly transitioned to how sonically incredible of a band they were! They opened up with Dream of the Archer..and I can still remember thinking that I had never heard anything so incredibly beautiful, and transcendent.
I think if I were sitting in a room with Ann Wilson and she started reading that song to me, I'd literally pass out. I seriously don't think I could handle it.
OMG I LOVE how she looks now. You can tell she lost some weight and she looks healthier and more confident and her hair is lovely and unpretentious. Not too much make up---just perfect. She inspires me as I get older.
I was a young Airman at Lowry AFB, Denver, Colorado when that voice reached out of the stereo, grabbed me by the ear and shouted, "Hey! Stop what you're doing and listen!" That was when Dreamboat Annie was the new album on the street. I've been listening ever since!
I have had the joy of seeing Ann and Nancy perform four different times throughout the years! Heart sounds better live than any recording which I always find thrilling. Amazing shows and brilliant talent. Ann has an incredible voice for a genre of music in a time when male lead singers were the only choice! Nancy straight on outplays any woman on guitar and most of the guys around. These ladies broke down a lot of barriers for rock and roll and women. Thank you so much!!! I am not sure about the slower "Crazy on You" version. I think the original was so iconic of their of hard rocking sound, it was a let down for me. Imagine if Led Zeppelin sang Rock and Roll slower. It would ruin the song. When you are a legend with an amazing sound, you cannot change an incredible hard hitting rocking song by slowing it down. It freaks the fans out!
I always used to think Karen Carpenter is the best female voice ever and I sustain that but let’s give Ann Wilson an honorary Best Rock female voice and style ever. I bet she is also lots of fun to hang out with.
Enrique García López : As I’m watching this I’m watching Ann. singing crazy on you And I’m thinking Linda Ronstadt he’s totally in another league! Have a most things are great in their own right I’m gonna have to go with Linda on this one! But of course it’s just my opinion and to each his own!
Got to see Heart on their ONLY tour of Australia a few years ago when they supported Def Leppard on their tour. Anne and Nancy absolutely rocked the arena. Incredibly powerful voice blew us away.
Love her voice but she probably can't sing like that anymore without breathing. This guy comes up with this transparant lame reason why they chose to slow it down. BS ! LOL!
Personally, I like the classic version fine, though I also like the slower one. One can imagine that Ann was probably tired of singing the same version hundreds of times over and wanted something fresh for her solo tour.
Well yes, the classic version IS the version but like the mature voice, slower version as it's STILL the song. Heard TAWT a few years back and they were amazing.
Anne Wilson or Diana Ross-either one could outsing a whole orchestra.Amazing!!You may not know what that means but if you ever heard it --then you would know.
Singing it slow doesn't add a thing to the song. It instead takes away the fierceness that grabs your soul when you hear it. Sing it the way it is supposed to be sung or don't do it in the set.
Yeah, he voice is definitely raspier. That's why I don't want to go see bands that have been around for 40 years, they just aren't at their peak anymore and it's often a let down when they can't sing it the way they used to. It's not really their fault, they can't fight time.
Had the opportunity to see them early in their career, back in 1977. I saw them in Asbury Park, NJ at Convention Hall on August 16th during the "Little Queen" tour.
i love you nancy and ann wilson you're my favorite rock stars 😍😍😍😍😍😍😘😘😘😘😘😘😘❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I love all your songs!! Ann incredible and unique voice and Nancy you're a master class in guitar love you 😘😘😘
Heart might never have had so much success, if it wasn’t for their outstanding co-writer and guitarist (and Ann’s husband at the time), Roger Fisher. I don’t recall Ms. Wilson mentioning him in this interview.
Thats for another Song ... Magic Man . . . anyways , She does mention Fisher here doesnt She . He was the one avoiding Draft to Vietnam . Also the reason the Album Dreamboat Annie was recorded in Canada
Roger Fisher was a great part of Heart! His brother is the man she’s talking about also Magic Man about him! the idea of the acoustic beginning was got from a moody blues song and the riff from roger fisher which got him a writer credit!
Johnny Marr ripped this song off for the Smiths in 'Bigmouth Strikes Again', only he put a capo on the 4th fret. Both are great tunes though. 'Dreamboat Annie' is in my top-10 favourite albums of all time. As is the Smiths' 'The Queen is Dead' funnily enough. There must be something about this riff.
She has to be one of the greatest singers of all time !
Of all time.
She was never ugly. I saw them in concert a few years ago. They are still phenomenal.
Sister Cyclone Right?
Sister Cyclone she was shy so she equated her shyness with being unattractive, it’s not hard to understand the logic.
One of the greatest rock songs ever... from one of the finest female singers. rock on Ann !

Ann Wilson....the greatest vocalist of all time? If not, she's in the TOP 10 for sure! She's is so UP THERE....UNREAL!

It's *were* ,not we're.
We're - We are.
My mother’s favorite band, Dog and Butterfly was her favorite song. Rest In Peace mom.
no ego,no jealousy,no breakup.just pure love and music.amazing band
Grew up in Seattle 80's ... They did way more than most will ever know for all of us music nerds..... Thank you for your efforts!!! Legends never end
Their support for up and coming bands in the 80 and early 90s, can't be underestimated.
What a voice.
One of the greatest voices ever
Nancy is a fantastic guitarist and Ann has great pipes.
yup and they are both breathtaking :-)
Nancy has a great voice too.
@@TheMalf1978
It adds to their sound, for sure.
These guys will forever be part of my adolescence - THANKS FOR THE AWESOME MEMORIES!!!
She has aged amazingly
Caleb M saw them last summer. The Wilson sisters are beautiful
There may have been an assist from medical science
I think if I were sitting in a room with Ann Wilson and she started reading that song to me, I'd literally pass out. I seriously don't think I could handle it.
I just found your channel. I like it. Keep up the good work!
Ann and Nancy are Goddesses in every way!!!!!! The depth of their musical talent is without measure!!
Man, Seattle has produced some amazing musicians. Ann and her sister have to be right there at the top, too.
Oh, Ann you have such a sultry speaking voice! I LOVE it!
When I was 20, I saw Heart in Tucson in 1978 and they were Crazy Amazing !
Thanks for the memories girls.💜
OMG I LOVE how she looks now. You can tell she lost some weight and she looks healthier and more confident and her hair is lovely and unpretentious. Not too much make up---just perfect. She inspires me as I get older.
Yeah, she was a 10 in her youth as far as this cat's concerned.
She looks lovely and she hasn't had so much surgery that you have to wonder who in the hell is that woman, LOL.
*Ann & Nancy Wilson are Queens in the world of rock!*
What a killer voice she has. Wow.
Anne Wilson = greatest female Rock singer ever. Nobody had or has the chops she does.
She's my favorite of all time.
Grace Slick is pretty good;how about Pat Benetar?🤔
Pat Rent-a-Car.
She certainly better than Billie Eyelash.
Mt. Zod : Linda Ronstadt does (Did) And more! No it’s true Linda doesn’t write Ann does but vocally....?!
A lyrical masterpiece and one of the best rock songs ever written.
your easily impressed,nothing special
fool.
Yeah, I always loved it.
@@momoney2720 Ah another troll.
You can say that again.
No one could belt them out like Ann. She was the best. Awesome still today.
One of the greatest female voices in music

Heart is completely underrated. Total Powerhouse.
I have had the joy of seeing Ann and Nancy perform four different times throughout the years! Heart sounds better live than any recording which I always find thrilling. ...and she is one of the few from that time that are still hitting the stage. Total badass! So much
I never realised Luke Skywalker was a member of Heart - 1:50.
Good call ! Hahahaahahaha
Ha
Plagiarized from a comment on another video.
When Owen forbid Luke to go to the academy en told him maybe next year he played guitar for one season. The force is strong in him.
I always used to think Karen Carpenter is the best female voice ever and I sustain that but let’s give Ann Wilson an honorary Best Rock female voice and style ever. I bet she is also lots of fun to hang out with.

How do you like it, how do you like it!
Got to see Heart on their ONLY tour of Australia a few years ago when they supported Def Leppard on their tour. Anne and Nancy absolutely rocked the arena. Incredibly powerful voice blew us away.
I saw that show in Newcastle. It was my birthday the night that show hit town. Two of my favourites, how could I not go.
Yeah ...Bit weird though eeyhh . . Heart suport act for Def Leppard. Shoud be other way around . .
Whenever I play Crazy on you to a young person, they always go
"Wow, what is that!!"
And it'll be in their playlist for years to come!
Anns lyrics were powerful and prophetic.
Love them, rock n roll needed beautiful women rocking like this.
I was 8 in 1976 and my mom got a copy of Little Queen. Ann Wilson on the cover of that album was my FIRST ever crush. Just a Gypsy Princess....so hot!
She looks and sounds amazing!
The normal speed version is infinitely better.
Love her voice but she probably can't sing like that anymore without breathing. This guy comes up with this transparant lame reason why they chose to slow it down. BS ! LOL!
@@Nosmirk Totally agree that slow is not good. That guitar riff was great because of the intense speed just made it kind of an angry song.
Yup
Personally, I like the classic version fine, though I also like the slower one. One can imagine that Ann was probably tired of singing the same version hundreds of times over and wanted something fresh for her solo tour.

Fantastic music - vocals. A classic.
Ann Wilson is the GOAT
that was great! thank you for it, I have a greater appreciation now!
❤️ ❤️ ❤️!!! I love you girlz! It's been a long strange trip. Thank you so much!
Heart never made a bad song. The only band I can think of that was capable of that was Queen
And that means...Queen was the ONLY band capable (that could)-make a bad song. All other bands OK.
Try again!
First song I ever heard on the radio that I fell in love with. I was 6!
⚡
Great video.such a powerful song and artist
Anne Wilson or Diana Ross-either one could outsing a whole orchestra.Amazing!!You may not know what that means but if you ever heard it --then you would know.
Ann looks great and still sounds awesome!!
Amazing person with an amazing voice, but the original version is still the best. Never slow down Ann
I know she sang rock, But she also has a great soulful voice.
A Delicious Rock Staple. So Talented. I Love Heart! There is nothing ugly about those sisters. Ever.
Singing it slow doesn't add a thing to the song. It instead takes away the fierceness that grabs your soul when you hear it. Sing it the way it is supposed to be sung or don't do it in the set.
SIXPACFISH I think her voice is damage, it's not the same
Hanging on to the notes is harder on the voice than just blasting them out fast like it is supposed to be sung.
Yeah, he voice is definitely raspier. That's why I don't want to go see bands that have been around for 40 years, they just aren't at their peak anymore and it's often a let down when they can't sing it the way they used to. It's not really their fault, they can't fight time.
Paul Stanley is a good example of this. He needs to take at least a year off to rest his voice. He sounds bad. Not like he needs the money either.
Slowing it down douses the momentum....zzzzzzzzz and turns it into yacht music
Had the opportunity to see them early in their career, back in 1977. I saw them in Asbury Park, NJ at Convention Hall on August 16th during the "Little Queen" tour.
Big voice! Great Band!
I love her 70s version. Recent slow...boo...and lost voice...
She's like Mona Lisa and Janis Joplin so beautiful sound and looks no matter what age just amazing no one else like her so very special
2019 update: They're reuniting for a tour this year! So much happiness 😄👏👏👏
its so wonderful their closeness
i love you nancy and ann wilson you're my favorite rock stars 😍😍😍😍😍😍😘😘😘😘😘😘😘❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I love all your songs!! Ann incredible and unique voice and Nancy you're a master class in guitar love you 😘😘😘
You realize that neither of them will read your comment, right? Why are you talking to them, as if they are here?
+thechaptermaster lol,your rigt
@@thechaptermaster so? I talk to the TV all the time.
I didnt even know Heart had this History!!!
Anne sings backup on Alice In Chains 'Sap' acoustic album and it's phenomenal - she's great 🔥
Nice shot of Moore's in Vancouver at the end.
man, it is so sad to see people plateau like this. kudos to the band, but it's over. be happy with your memories.
Legend no matter what speed
Ann looks damn good!
I love Ann Wilson
Thank you!
It's sad to see how time has spoiled her once incredibly powerful voice. At least I still have the original albums to hear her in her prime.
Gustave Frankfurter Yep. Of course, she is 69. So am not too surprised..
Such a great song by an even better singer. I do like the original version better than the new one however.
I think I speak for everyone when I say we don't want a slow version of "Crazy on You."
Magic, man.
4:21 kind of a yawner that slow

I 💟 HEART
Ann, it was waaaaay more than alright.
Love her till the end!
I cried the first time I heard this song.
Evry time I think about it I wanna Cry . . .
I could listen to her speaking for hours
Slowing it down takes al the punch out of it. Guess I am glad I didn't see the show. I will listen to the cd.
Ann was heavier, she looks great now. Kudos to her.
Ann's the best looking.
Lovely~
The guitar bit sounds like Bigmouth Strikes Again by the Smiths. Ann and Nancy, looks fab.
rabit818 The Smiths song was written in the 80’s so that song sounds like Crazy on You.
I've seen them as a opening act for Nazareth when they were still unknown, still feel sorry for the guys who were the main act.
Crazy on Heart
Every time I listen to Dreamboat Annie, I think of a sailboat on Commencement Bay.
Wednesday evening windseeker races!
Ann,you were never an ugly duckling.
Ann
SUCH BEAUTY
^_^
Epic!!!!!
Roger Fisher was a great part of Heart! His brother is the man she’s talking about also Magic Man about him! the idea of the acoustic beginning was got from a moody blues song and the riff from roger fisher which got him a writer credit!
The Moody Blues Song was Questions!
Just like Geddy Lee can't sing those high notes when you get older...
As you get older your voice changes.
The songs have to be re written to fit your aging vocals.
It's elementary and very cool. she sounds great!
Ann looks more stunning now than she did 10 years ago
"Gek op je" lol. I'd like to hear that dutch version!
Meh
Nei - dwelms wassie goed vir djille nie!
