Not sure if it was intentional, but the "I struck down Helvetica" bit is, not only brilliant and funny, but also surprisingly accurate: historically, Roman legions lead by Julius Caesar destroyed and exterminated the Helvetii tribes in today's Switzerland during their campaign in Gaul (modern France).
Can't believe nobody noticed Brennan's brilliant font pun with "new soldiers for a New Century". Century is another family of serif fonts, related to Times New Roman

I would 100% watch a movie like this. This is the second act confrontation and leads to a callback in the climax where comic sans uses wing dings to fly up and reveal a legion of obscure and strange fonts that TNR hadn't even bothered going after (Press Start 2P, the actual WebDings, etc.)
Twist: Comic Sans rememenber he was invented to be a fots for Comic Books originally and invoke superheros power from it...
I was not ready for Zac to take off like the audience in Dexter's Lab 😅 also the little extra cinematic boost via letterboxing is just *chefs kiss*
the fact that zach just floats away not even animated is so funny
Stellar work capturing Brennan's renowned malice and intimidation while talking about something entirely silly! Also, the rain ambiance was nice. Not as bright and prominent as it was before, lovely.
I tried putting it through a low-pass filter at first, but it just ended up too muddy, so this is literally just a bit quieter 😅 I'll figure out audio one day
@@DeepBlueInk Well it worked out!
I love so much you didn't give him wings, you just had him fly away in the same pose as gamechangers, that's great
as an undertale fan, i am genuinely tweaking rn on how comic sans mentioned wingdings.
The nuances of their faces, the movements, the tension of Brennan's shadow eclipsing Zac--juxtaposed with Zac just fucking vanishing into the distance like someone chucking a toy soldier is so fucking funny to me. Beautifully done as always.
At least Times New Roman didn’t strike down Oxygen, not only is it my favourite font but it is required to live.
0:47 They only fell because your very existence is poison for the eyes of anyone foolish enough to gaze upon thee!!!
Ooof, I wouldn't wanna be Times New Roman right now
I swear, this is virtually a perfect portrayal of Julius Caesar's insane warmongering😂
Brennan: "What mercy do you think you will find in my heart? The fields behind me are littered with the bodies of fonts braver and more cunning than you. Baskerville lies dead in the dust. Apple Chancery is… nothing but a distant memory. I struck down HELVETICA!!!"
Julius Caesar:
Defeated Ariovistus, his first major adversary, leader of the Suebi peoples and the invader of Gaul, "Apple Chancery is… Nothing but a distant memory."
Defeated Vercingetorix, King of the Arverni, leader of the united peoples of Gaul, who fought against Rome and sought to free Gaul from Roman rule forever more, "Baskerville lies dead in the dust."
Defeated Pompey Magnus the Great, he who fought in the Social War and The Mithridatic Wars, he who played the decisive role in the Civil War against Sulla, he who defeated rebellions in Sicily, Africa, Italy, and Hispania, he who personally brought Asia Minor and the Near East under Roman Rule, "I struck down, HELVETICA!!!"
Zach here, could be no other than Brutus. A man of the people😌
Comic Sans sure dinged his wing until he gastered
IM WING GASTER, THE ROYAL SCIENTI-
i like that these two knew exactly which font they were and didn't have to say anything to come to an agreement
I can’t believe this is only 7 months old. It feels like this video and I have been friends for 20 years.
You have such a knack for picking excellent clips to animate! They're so funny. And your visual jokes on top of that are *chef's kiss*
Comic sans was infused with the power of sans undertale and promptly fled the scene
CHILLLS when Brennan said "I STRUCK DOWN HELVETICA!!"
I thought that time new roman would get a bad time but it just darker yet darker and THEY DIDN'T TALK ABOUT THE GREAT PAPYRUS.
What I think makes it even better is that “Helvetica” kinda sounds like an actual Royal Name
Putting Brennan in historically accurate Lorica Segmentata is.... SO awesome.
Whenever I get the choice of font, it is indeed Comic Sans. The world is dark enough as it is to add more Times New Roman (and what happened to Old Roman anyway)...
Ok this absolutely amazing. The added rain affects, the very well done expressions, the dramatic atmosphere, and ESPECIALLY the flawless execution on the punchline. Absolutely insane.
When you think about it, it makes perfect sense for Comic Sans to use cartoon logic
I just realized, nobody's noticed the "New centurions for a New Century" joke... since New Century is also a font.
Yo, “I struck down Helvetica” is crazy!!!!!!!!!!
The fact that you can name drop Baskerville and Apple Chancery, but fuck up your threat about Wingdings is such a supervillain thing. They're all powerful until they're not.
Comic Sans is ungovernable and it drives Times New Roman mad.
This was a very powerful skit from Make Some Noise that I felt was going to be very difficult for anyone to recreate and DeepBlueInk, my good sir, you have managed to blow it away!
I will never not rewatch this whenever the algorithm brings it my way again
