Those dioramas are fantastic! That's what got me back into buying SW figures. I saw the detail and articulation of Black Series figures and I was sold. I'm focused mostly on OT with some diorama ideas in the works. No retail package or every figure ever made collecting for me. Just the ones I want from the films for some cool scenes.
I'm buying my first Star Wars characters ever at age 43.. but I went the hot toys route because I'm only doing the Mandalorian cast and I really like that detail and articulation. Also it's really nice to have 8 months to save up!
Great video Im very new to the hobby and just have always loved the franchise. Thank you so much for providing the history lesson and the pros and cons of each collection. So great i will begin my black series collection. Definitely going to check out more of your videos. Your collection is incredible OMG just magnificent i hope you vids displaying these work of arts..Great stuff "I have spoken"
Would love a video on how you make your dioramas, bro! They're unreal. And buying custom ones online are super expensive. Never been good at arts and crafts. Would love a tutorial. :)
Kenner had it right. What makes Star Wars so amazing is everything surrounding the films, the world. That's why it's baffling that Disney swooped in and said "oh none of that matters anymore". For me, and many others, the Expanded Universe will always be what really makes Star Wars amazing, and being able to have figures of almost any character is wonderful.
Man what a great video. I’m late to the party and have been collecting both but some great knowledge here. I would love to see more videos on your black series Dioramas. They look great. Thanks
A problem with the vehicles failing is a lot of people refuse to pay those high prices. But also the choices they made with the vehicles were strange. Why would they start with a FO tie when they could have done a classic tie?
Your dioramas are always so cool to see. I prefer the simpler cartoony look of the 5-inch scale, but if I had to choose I'd go for 6 inch because of the articulation. Cool video
It makes sense for Hasbro to make a Black Series Zeb because, with Fall Order, we have Master Jaro Topal which they can double-dip on the mold. At least, from a certain point-of-view.
Great vid. I appreciate how you broke it down. I think the same way. Think I’m gonna stick with 6 inch and really have just a nice display with a few characters
I recently got out of Transformers sold everything off, and went into Star Wars collecting. I felt like I needed something different. I Went with Black series. As you said price between a 3.75 inch figure and 6 inch figure is not much of a difference nowadays. I decided to get 3.75 scale vehicles and 6 inch figures to display on separate shelves. This video helped make my decision. Thanks Bobby.
You nailed Bobby there are so many side character's I want for the Black series. General Rieekan, Major Derlin, Skiff guards, General Dodonna, dam there is so many. It's a dam shame because SW is all about side character's.
Thank you for another GREAT video showing what difference is in black series and vintage and collecting them. I also wanted to say ever need some drum beats,....hit me up,... I'll help ya just trying to be a friend. My biggest problem is trying to collect Hasbro Transformers,Star Wars and MAYBE later this fall/Christmas season the new Mattel MOTU 5.5 figures. You can sometimes feel like your pulling your hair out trying to find and buy new Transformers,Star Wars figures.
I have some power of the force from when I was a kid and a few of my father's old figures and vehicles. As for new stuff I picked up the Archive Boba, IG and Bossk. Not sure I'll venture much deeper into Black Series although I do catch myself picking them up in stores now and then lol.
Bro the dioramas have completely inspired me to start trying to make some try and get some more "fun" out of my figures. An episode 4 falcon scene was my first idea and will be about the size of yours. How did you come up with the CHAIR that Han sits in on the right? Can you guide me I the right direction to getting or making one? Amazing work as always man.
My son likes to play with his figures and that means army building and 6 inch black series is too expensive to army build. I’ve noticed that several of the vintage collection figures seem to simply be re-releases of the SAGA coin figures especially that upcoming clone trooper figure
At 6-8$, 3.75 were great. At $15 a pop, ehhhh not so much. And then Black line is bigger and better and price difference of 5-8$ from small ones just alienated the classic scale in the past decade if you didn't collect prior to Black series IMO. And my take on dioramas, troops, vehicles, and so on in same scale - Lego is a great modern solution and they're making amazing strides there in the past 3 years.
Love your collection and dioramas dude! for me both series are cool, i have to admit, great articulation and detail, i like the vintage scale for the vehicles, and it's actually a more practical scale for when i make my stop motion videos - smaller sets required! lol, but i do like the black series for the slightly better detail when it comes to things like the apparel, the extra material clothing looks great in animation videos! Generally i do like 6" scale alot though, That said, it's not an easy choice hahaha.
Personally I think 3 34 inch display better in and out of box. Whether it be vehicles on the card or in massive armys and dioramas, I just think they look better
Man, I had Exar Kun and that whole final wave of comic 2-packs (which I think were Entertainment Earth exclusives or something?). Got stolen, along with the rest of my 3.75" collection. The tiny, tiny consolation is that I didn't know anything about any of those characters, I just bought them because I loved the Legacy Collection. So I didn't lose a beloved toy so much as I lost an opportunity for a very fruitful eBay auction one day.
The one thing I wish is that Hasbro or someone would make Vintage to-scale Star Destroyer Bridge. I don't recall Hasbro making them when they did the cardboard displays. The only "official" one I want to say was from Kenner years back. The only time I saw someone custom make one was for eBay, and I didn't have the cash at the time. Which I regret because it was nabbed eventually.
Thank you for this. I go in and out of collecting 3.75 star wars mainly focusing on the jedi. With the new series I've been collecting more. I really wanted to pick up a Crait Luke but never saw him on shelves now finding out he was in fact released and is expensive on the secondary market. The 3.75 figures fell like toys I can play with my kids where I'm not sure id feel the same with the 6in.
You have to be on top of the new figure releases. I was able to get my Luke Crait from Walmart online last summer and those sold out quick. I was able to get it at retail $12.99. I missed on Zorri Bliss and those are almost around $20.
I buy both Black Series and Vintage Collection. I just buy what I want/need for my collection. I do check at stores and compare prices before I purchase any. Some figures like Expanded Universe in the VTC line are harder to get because of limited quantities, however, I some rumors that EU figures like Darth Malgus, Shea Vizla and Bane Starkiller may be coming back. However, I'm worried that when the re release them, will the originals loose value or go up? That I don't know. As far as Black Series, I will only collect either exclusives or limited editions based on the character. I only collect for enjoyment, not revenue.
I have a question about the 3rd party figure of the year. The Fans Toys ft-31a motormaster. I see them on ebay for sale coming from China are these real Fans Toys figures or are they KO versions? I cant find anything online that will specify if they even make a KO ft-31a. Please someone message me and let me know if I buy one on ebay for 170$ will I be getting the real thing.
Kenner need to start capitalizing more the vintage figures with re-issues of the original ones like Hasbro did with transformers! Of course I would add the Bobba Fett with rocket launcher!
3D printers make custom ships for the BS somewhat viable if you're willing to drop $350 for someone to knock you out a snowspeeder in 6 weeks or so. they take up a lot of real estate, too. but, if you're into customizing then you're far more apt to go with the BS (you can switch some body parts from other figure lines), not to mention if you like to take pics there's simply no contest. i've seen pics of BS that i thought were deleted scenes out of a movie at first. some ppl throw the boxes away, but you can keep them and put the fig back in, which would be great for someone with limited display place so they can rotate their collection and keep the stored figs protected. a drawback with the BS is we'll never see those deep background figs. then again, for us completists that's actually a relief in a way. the biggest drawback is we'll never get the ships we want. even a small vehicle like the at-st would be huge.
As someone who recently tried to get into the 3.75 line, a lot of the newer Vintage collection figures can’t even hold their weapons. I got out quick after seeing this. I do Lego and Black Series now.
This video proves my theory that the Star Wars movies have become nothing but long ass commercials for crappy star wars merchandise. Who needs 20 different versions of Darth Vader or 50 different versions of Luke i tell you who nobody needs that many versions of each character. In the beginning the merchandise was use to promote the movies and it keep the movies in people's mind until the next one came out but that philosophy started to change by the time Return of the Jedi came out. Why do you think we got so many new characters and vehicles in that movie and why George Lucas went with the prequels instead of giving us what we really wanted a sequel to the original trilogy or why Disney decided to introduce new characters in their new trilogy is because they make more money selling merchandise than they do with the movies and by the way Disney introduced those new characters so they wouldn't have to pay George Lucas royalties for using the old characters that is why they had so little screen time or why they keep killing them. And that is why the franchise is death went it comes to the movies and is not coming back until they change their philosophy of the merchandise is there to promote the movies not the other way around. Great video by the way 👍👍
I mean... the 3 3/4" vehicles were my juice. Jabba's playset and HasLab's Sail Barge will never see a 6" version. So that will always be lacking to me. For "museum" displays, the Black series pales to Hot Toys. You may gawk at HT prices, but with the crazy dry spell of 3 3/4" vehicles in the last few years, I have more cash flow for that.
im not hopeful but i would like to think they will get into at least some of the "b & c" characters at some point, i mean, there are hundreds of marvel legends figures so, maybe, i hope lol. when it comes to 3 3/4 scale, i just dont see myself collecting that scale anymore, i havent since the episode 1 figures came out (which i still have) .
no interest in the 6 inch stuff.... didn't when Hasbro shit on the Marvel Universe 4 inch nor now that they again are shitting on the Star Wars and making a 6 inch GI Joe line.. If I want quality bigger Star Wars figures I'll switch over to Hot toys, the 6 inch I have no interest in... it's a niche I don't care for
The thing is is that y could buy plane tickets and a decent hotel for 2 nights with the price of a black series action figure while 3.75 is cheaper Edit: nvm change my mind I love black series now
Those dioramas are fantastic! That's what got me back into buying SW figures. I saw the detail and articulation of Black Series figures and I was sold. don't worry, you're never too old! as the saying goes, ya didn't stop playing coz you grew old, you grew old coz ya stopped playing! ;)
I'm 49 years old and I still collect Star Wars figures. From Classic to Prequal to next generation. As long as it's Star Wars, it's for me.
Hot toys are too expensive for us peasants
I like going with 3.75 figures because of vehicles being available. But 6" figures are nice.
How did you get those black series display scenes? did you make them? they're incredible
"Paying the late tax..."
Perfect.
Wow this was an amazing video for collectors...great shots of sets...you've done a man's job sir...
Great video Im very new to the hobby and just have always loved the franchise. Thank you so much for providing the history lesson and the pros and cons of each collection. I hope the 6 inch take some more chances on vehicles. The 3.75 is a huge rabbit hole and you are right about the diversity of characters.
I.C.E. characters, lol. Very informative and flowed very well, but your dioramas were my favorite parts of the video!
Bro those Displays are freaking awesome!!!!!!!!! Great work man!!!!! Insane work!!!!!
Mac, your Dios are going to make heads explode. Bobby casually scrolls past his 3D printed and painted Baby Yoda.
Man what a great video. I’m late to the party and have been collecting both but some great knowledge here. I would love to see more videos on your black series Dioramas. They look great. Thanks
Wow bud! Great job on the display’s ! They look awesome

Hearing the prices from 4 years ago was a system shock.
Wow. I love your collection. Such detail and beautiful dioramas. I'd love to see you create a yavin hanger with the starships in it.
You made it through that whole video without saying "can I get a two tubes" I'm proud.
your collection is incredibly amazing!

The Imperial Tank with the troop of Rose Ticos was hillarious!

It's about time Hasbro gave some love to the Scum and Villainy from The Cantina and Jabba's Palace in 6-inch scale.
You got nice dioramas. Pretty cool 👍👍👍👍
Hope he made the selection for me ... A little easier! 😂🤣 This huge SW just blew my Colossal set away! 🤣
I need the back grounds for those 6inch figures
My son likes to play with his figures and that means army building and 6 inch black series is too expensive to army build. I’ve noticed that several of the vintage collection figures seem to simply be re-releases of the SAGA coin figures especially that upcoming clone trooper figure
Awesome video Bobby skull-face :-)
This is the reason I am so merry and happy.
Awesome displays bro STRAIT 🔥🔥🔥
All looks outstanding
Willrow Hood is Star Wars' greatest character.

I also really like the dioramas you set up. Would love to make some of my own! Any advice?
Star Wars figures are awesome but a rather spend my money on a new car and 2 week vacation out west
Vacation is temporary... star wars toys are forever!
DAMN those shelves are LIT!
Ah man the old CD shelves overrun with Star Wars
Personally I think 3 34 inch display better in and out of box. Whether it be vehicles on the card or in massive armys and dioramas, I just think they look better
Please let me know how you got those display scenes for the black series
who are the other two with Hood at 4:37????
Man, I had Exar Kun and that whole final wave of comic 2-packs (which I think were Entertainment Earth exclusives or something?). Got stolen, along with the rest of my 3.75" collection.

Those Dioramas are awesome! Did you make those yourself?
I guess your comments regarding the black series apply to S.H. Figuarts Star Wars collection as well?
Ok....where did the baby Yoda come from??
Thank you for this. I go in and out of collecting 3.75 star wars mainly focusing on the jedi. With the new series I've been collecting more. Mego Who were the big game in town, also passed on Star Wars!
Gawdam your display is beautiful
If kept sealed, which series would be more valuable in 3 decades? Black series or vintage collection
Vintage collection, more 3.75 collectors out there.
How did u make those scenes!??!?!
Challenge accepted...but slowly..this is how I got my collection
I have a question about the 3rd party figure of the year. The Fans Toys ft-31a motormaster. I see them on ebay for sale coming from China are these real Fans Toys figures or are they KO versions? I collect both lines but lately I like the black series more due to the sculpts.
That collection is bad ass!
Kenner need to start capitalizing more the vintage figures with re-issues of the original ones like Hasbro did with transformers! Of course I would add the Bobba Fett with rocket launcher!
Shazam Strongest Human Superheroe! Hasbro owns Kenner
Bantha Banter , well then they should know it is a winner formula!
I love this video
I love star wars

I am sticking with 3.75" as it is not Star Wars to me without the vehicles and the creatures.
You talk like Brad Pitt haha
Nice video bro
As someone who recently tried to get into the 3.75 line, a lot of the newer Vintage collection figures can’t even hold their weapons. I got out quick after seeing this. I do Lego and Black Series now.
Do you recommend buying more than one of the same item? For example 2-3 of the same bobba fett?
BABY YODA!!!!!!
inexpensive my ass! i remember these were $2.99 in '78, equivalent of $12.44 today. that's a shit ton of money for an 8 year old!
Little red dot

Does it really matter though... Get the variants that you want and leave the rest.... They're just options mate, and options are good things to have.
I mean... the 3 3/4" vehicles were my juice. Jabba's playset and HasLab's Sail Barge will never see a 6" version. So that will always be lacking to me. I want a Tvc Captain Rex
that’s gonna sell like hot cakes
... on a long enough timeline the Star Wars collection of everyone drops to zero ... 😱

I thought you would be talking about getting 3.75 now. Cause back 10 years ago it was great now I think black series is way better sadly.
