hello i have a kia ceed 2010 in which the mechanism for the steering lock doesnt engage when i pull out the key from the ignition. Have to give a little tap at the bottom of the steering wheel which makes the popping sound with which the steering lock engages. The disadvamtage of this is that the car thinks that the keynis still in the ignition so my remote control of the car wont work. I tried lubricating the cylinder with liquid grease sprey and wd40 but it didnt work. Does somebody have any suggestions? Thanks im advance.
one way to do it is to drill a hole pointing to the retaining tab which moves in the video when I turn the hairpin. With a hole you should be able to retract the retaining tab.
Hi Kishi, are you able to explain step by step on how to dismantle this cylinder please? Because I got a replacement cylinder and I want to code it to match the existing keys of the car. Many thanks
I had the same problem to solve.... If you have the keys of both is relatively easy. If not, you have to insert two very thin blades to retract the little code blades... Unfortunately I dont have a tumbler out of the car anymore to better explain through a vídeo. Sorry pal.
@@bobbymathiwathanan1832 with the tumbler out of the car, you should machine/cut the side of the grey top cover to access its ring lock(you can see mine have been previously cut in the vídeo). Then, with the key you only have to turn the tumbler inners and it will be free in your hands 😬. Good luck pal, please inform me if it worked.
The aim of the video is to show the locking mechanism, not to show how to dismantle the tumbler itself. Thanks for all the videos you posted helping people.
it is a fake for audiences, he has cut or destroyed a a latch at the end of the lock otherwise he can't remove the internal slot key from front side. Liar liar
The purpose of this video is to show people how the retaining mechanism works. It is clear for any idiot that the tumbler isn't complete. Anyway, thanks for watching.
this is so incredibly helpful.
Glad to help.
Μπράβο μάστορα πολύ κατατοπιστικό το βίντεο
thank you
Best video ive seen.
Thank you.
Watched other vids and i spent 4 hours without success. It took me 10 mins once I watched this one. Its easy once you see the mechanics.
@@CarlosEduardo-ci6iz I'm glad I could help someone (after being helped by other people videos here on youtube).
Boa kishi.. good vídeo

No clue at all, sorry pal.
👌
So how would you remove the tumbler if the key won’t turn?

This is good info.
There is many many videos how to remove cylinder from housing. And finally found one where you disassemble all cylinder and you didn't show how :D
It wasn't the purpose of the video. If you pay attention to the title you will notice. Thank you for watching.
Yeah. I just say there are a lot videos how to remove cylinder :)
@@buggyB0o it would be very nice if you contribute with the community posting a vídeo different from the rest, how about it?
@@rodrigokishi I am thinking about it, but at first I need to reassamble it and repair. Meanwhile, I found a lot videos in russian.
How do you take the cap off?
Grinded it's side.
There is a locking ring inside the cap
@@rodrigokishi anywhere on the side or is there a specific spot
@@9TheTrojan the ring slides inside a slot which you can see in the tumbler. So you only have to detect its height.
*in the tumbler in the video

Thanks Kishi, all I want to know is how to take the tumbler out, yes I have two keys, I will manage with that until I find a perm solution. Cheers
@@bobbymathiwathanan1832 to remove the tumbler from the car you can follow the instructions from this video: ua-cam.com/video/tETEtb5Yr_o/v-deo.html

Looks like you already cut the lock to release the bezel. Nice try, but you goofed
