I just want to say how much I appreciate you talking in English and how good your pronunciation is. I’m sure there are times that you wish you didn’t have to but we all appreciate it. 🙂
Where you think english came from germany and speaking english gives them more viewers
@@noelcahill6707can't we still appreciate it?
@@MarkusAJ we can
Another great video guys. I enjoy all of them. Definitely tea to go with LR. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼👍🏼
Well the Queen’s paternal family was German.
Rather than stopping you opening the bonnet while driving along, I think you'll find that bracket on the Defender is to stop someone breaking a window to gain access under the bonnet of a locked, parked car. Catalytic convertor theft defeat, maybe? I believe the cats are up closer to the engine on these.
Working on this Land Rover Discovery engine is like watching an episode of Casualty The way you work together in dismantling this old engine is brilliant
I wake up early every Sunday morning just to watch the 2 of you. My husband knows about cars, etc. I know nothing , but at 71, am learning. Enjoy your Channel VERY much! ☺️
😅👌💪🙏🙋♀️
Sunday afternoon with Vera, Christian, a broken Land Rover, a cup of tea, and a digestive biscuit. Life doesn't get much better.
Simon's presence made this channel even more enjoyable. I love his channel, just like all desktop mechanics.
Good morning to my favorite Sunday morning couple!
It is great that you and Simon for Powerful UK met up with each other!
I’ve always assumed that the ‘Stig’ refers to the Top Gear Test driver who originally, allegedly originates from Finland, where the famous Rally drivers come from.
I seem to recall Simon naming it the Stig after the Top Gear driver(s) who always wore a white helmet with black visor which match the car's colour scheme.
Stig Blomqvist was a Swedish rally driver, but I just learned from Wikipedia that a 'stig' was a new boy at Repton (where Clarkson and Wilman went to school).
OMG, I don't know how I am going to cope waiting a whole week for you both to pull the engine apart. I genuinely enjoy your work. Thank you. Regards from Oz.
This is great, it just shows the Landrover community is alive and well on UA-cam..
My favourite Land Rover U Tubers , all on one post. Excellent!
Absolutely! I received my first new Defender add-on from Simon before I had a Defender to put it on!
Even following your videos i wouldn't have the guts to strip it down. Love your videos
Nice gesture of Simon to come and visit your place.
How good was it to see Simon pay a visit 😎.... great lad Simon! Would be some of the best footage on UA-cam watching Christian & Simon working together 😄
Morning cup of tea in hand 😊
14:19 Useful TIP I also got from someone that helped me: instead of repeatedly pumping the hydraulic cylinder in order to rise the engine lifting crane, it's much faster and more practical to undo the release valve of the pump, then lift the crane by hand, and then close the release valve.
Hope this is a worthy LR Time viewer comment.
All the best from me!
Going to try that
Me to 🍻
It works
My two favourite land rover UA-camrs, there has been an LR Time sticker in Simons workshop for a good while.
This is full circle. I used to watch Simon’s channel with the Green Disco 4. It’s good to see him on this channel.
Tea is definitely the answer to most problems. Thanks for another great video
Nice to see Simon visiting you guys, I have used his video extensively on my L322. It's also helps to have a smart, interested helper when down in the pit, having to crawl out of the pit multiple times gets hard on your body. As for tea, I live on the stuff!!
Tea once a week? It's a start I guess, but (old school) British mechanics can only work effectively if there is a mug of tea, at minimum, once an hour! When you pick up a mug to drink it, it forces you to re-evaluate your work so far, and to plan the next hour. 😀
Wonderful content and such great humour. Your English is so good and I really appreciate that you make the effort for your English speaking viewers. 😊
As a Toyota driver I love watching your brilliant content and look forward to Sundays.
I love these too, they're so cute together, great fun! Always mightily impressed by their technical prowess. Nice to see Simon too! 🙏👍😎
When you mentioned Simon the first time, I thought: Simon, what Simon. Then I saw "The Stig" and I thought: Ah, it's Simon. Wonderful.❤
I’m not a mechanic , I don’t even drive a Land Rover , I’m a Volvo XC90 owner , but I do enjoy to watch the skills to repair these Land Rover’s.
It’s - in a way - cosy to watch a new episode every sunday.
And I / we hope that our XC90 will survive our roadtrip to Iceland in august 😬
Christian what's your opinion on this from a anti-seize manufacturer;
Henkel-Adhesives Quote:
"steel substrates pose numerous challenges when it comes to seizure and galling. Using anti-seize lubricants for steel can help minimize many of these issues and facilitate assembly and disassembly a for maintenance and repair.
However, it is important to remember that while many compounds exist for steel, copper anti-seize on steel will create inter-crystalline corrosion which can cause parts to crack or break when under heavy loads."
They recommend using Nickel antiseize instead.
We do use different kind of anti seize too. But this statement was written by a rocket scientist. Had many bolts snap because of Rost but not a single one from crappadappa corrosion. Christian
I've just discovered this channel and it's superb. That's a brilliant set up you have and I love your sense of humour. I've just watched 3 episodes one after another and I don't even have a Land Rover.
Love watching but as a Toyota Land Cruiser owner , these videos make me appreciate the freedom and peace my vehicle gives me . But you do also give priceless hope and guidence to Land Rover Discovery 3 and 4 owners 👌 Keep up the good work ! 👍
You must be proud now, having Land Rover Royals to visit you.
I love when you refer to the dektop mechanics. Hope they continue with good advice for you in the future too .
Really enjoyed this episode, Powerful UK meets LR TIME. Always a favorite Sunday morning watch with a cup of coffee
Wow!, LR Time 🇩🇪is the university for repairing Range Rover & Land Rover products.👍👋🇬🇧
Brilliant Sunday entertainment as usual.
I am always impressed with your knowledge and skills, however what impresses me more is how Vera can overhaul a Discovery and manages to keep that yellow jacket clean!
Great to see a UK visitor on your Manor with a registration plate (ST) that originates in Perth Scotland.
I eagerly await the outcome of the engine fault.
Cheers 🍻
Hi vera and christian.brillant content.great to see Simon on your channel.looking forward to future episodes.😊😊😊
I want to thank you for the most amazing videos. The teamwork and fun you have together are perfectly balanced with the very high, professional, and technical information given. I can't wait for the next episode!
It is such a pleasure and delight watching you both - thank you so much :)
Thankyou Christian and Vera for producing my Sunday morning entertainment ❤. I finally bit the bullet yesterday and put down a deposit on a Waitimo grey 2016 Discovery 4 Landmark edition and will pick it up at the end of the month, I will start building up my supply of penetrating fluid and copper grease 😀
Vera and Christian are just wonderful
Great video as usual, makes getting up on a Sunday worthwhile, thank you
Brilliant ! Looking forward to the next few weeks.
Great video, nice to see Simon calling in
My husband and I watch you every Sunday! Love you two!
🤗🙏🙋♀️
Always look forward to your Sunday morning tonic look forward to see the issue with the v6 🙏
Wow - nice to see Simon and the stig visiting you! Awesome!
Chris, honestly mate you have the patience of a saint! Fantastic work you do on these!
We’ll have to see long term how the new defender engines go, supposedly they’re very good but time will no doubt tell!
Tea and biscuits was traditional thinking food in our Jaguar garage. Every time we snapped a head stud or diagnosed a dead distributor module, put the kettle on and have a chat and a think over a cup of tea. Same with doing tappets on a Merc 280, or spark plugs on a Jensen Interceptor: take a deep breath, down tools, make a cup of tea and recover your compusure and your patience. That being said, I learned to drink tea in glass in Berlin and it is just the best way to drink tea, just a sublime experience. Thanks again for the laughs, the inspiration, and the knowledge. Really enjoying my second vicarious Disco 4 rebuild!
Good morning to you both , another brilliant tuition x
I was very excited to see your progress. It's amazing that you make it look so easy! Looking forward to next week.
Have you ever tried heating a stuck bolt and then melting a candle onto it before attempting to loosen it?
Basically, heat the bolt as normal and then dab the candle onto the bolt-head and any exposed threads.
The theory, I think, is that the wax can wick into threads, and under the head, acting as a lubricant.
Also the wax won't evaporate when it comes into contact with hot parts like a lot of releasing oil does.
Seems like one of those things that was probably a good idea 50 years ago but modern lubricants should work better.
Changing the brake discs on my Disco' 2, I struggled with various bolts until, eventually, I thought I'd try using a candle.
Dunno if it was just a coincidence but the seized bolts I smothered in candle-wax came out much easier than the others. 👍
Good to see Simon visiting you from UK, Keep on with your excellent videos...
Good morning, !coffee and the duo, excellent
Fantastic, great to see Simon. Great job, love your commentary. Amateurs unite!!
Look forward to Sunday morning and your videos. Great work 👍
Good morning from Oz ,I'm having dinner no coffee ...just a beer👍👍👍
Excellent episode - looking forward to the next one.
yet again another brilliant video to watch,
Great video - thankyou both
Looking forward to next Sunday 🎉
Thank you Vera and Christian for another great video and Sunday morning! Can't wait to see what's going on inside that engine next week. Fun to see that cool Defender too from PowerfulUK.
Great to see Simon and the Stig. Your identification of LR design issues and his inventive new products will come together in a whole range of improved and better than genuine parts............
Ha, I just used Simon's video a couple weeks ago when I added the interior rear hatch release! Thanks to both of you for helping us!
I'm loving this series already. Cup of tea will sort all your problems out! ❤
sunday viewing compleat... thanks for another good video
Hello VERA AND CHRISTIAN you have brilliant minds and excellent memory well done to you both, your right DISCOVERY 4 are the Best 😊
Until next week Thank you regards Thomas.
Steady on with all that tea. Before you know it you'll be drinking 4 cups of tea a day, swearing like troopers and losing your 10mm sockets constantly - just like an English workshop. 😂😂
Excellent very enjoyable watch👍
Great video as usual. I don't own a LR Discovery (yet), but I do love messing around with cars. Keep up the excellent work and thank you for providing continual enterainment.
As always excellent content you two are a great combination nothing seems to phase you keep up the excellent work 👍👍
Very enjoyable video thank you.
Cant wait till next week. What a fab team you two are.
Great stuff as ever - intriguing to see what happens next!
Great Job, as always. Very nice!
Great to see you receive a visit from Simon, his wife and the Stig! Perhaps this is the start of a mutual “Powerful” relationship opportunity for future videos? 😉 keep up the good work guys 🌟
How great to see Simon visiting you! I enjoy your videos and his videos very much, so great to see you meeting each other. Good luck with this your latest D4 project - another D4, oh my god! 😱
We have just found your channel and love it but it seams odd to us why two Germans love Range Rovers so much. In Australia the joke is if you really want to get there take a Land Rover, but if you want to get home again take a Land Cruiser. You two are a great couple and you make us laugh, I think because we’re very similar. Vera is such a cutie and has a great figure. We also thank you for using English as it must be difficult at times when German is your native language. All the best, Stuart & Leanne, Canberra, Australia 🇦🇺
Christian and Vera, I enjoy watching your videos. From southern Louisiana.
Es ist eine Freude, Ihnen bei Ihrer methodischen Arbeit zuzuschauen.
😊 can’t wait for our next episode ❤
Fingers crossed what you find is repairable!! Good to see Simon give you both a visit too. 👍
I love watching your channel.
Looks nice now your new tool box has settled in 👍
Good morning to you both on another Sunday video Christian you make this look so easy the master land rover technician and what a help Vera is collating all the parts nuts and bolts you too have a great partnership it must be a joy and funny at the same time working together and brilliant content for us thanks❤❤
Great vid again really enjoy you working together... oh and Vera I love ❤
Once again great video. Look forward to a new video each week.
Love you guys. Great video. Thanks for making it 👍👍👍
These kind of big jobs only work because it's a team effort - Vera takes care of the important details to make sure re-assembly goes smoothly while Christian takes all the credit for the man-stuff with his big extension
As ever, a fun video for a Sunday. I'm looking forward to discovering the damage to the engine with you next week.
Great video. Keep up the excellent work
Love it, LR Tea TIME👍👍
I have the same Gedore socket set very good apart from the red corner pieces forever falling off. Many thanks for the videos I am a big fan and I cannot wait until my friend’s LR breaks down so I can say I can fix that ! I will then be checking your catalogue and pretending it’s all from memory!
hi Christian and Věra, you are amazing, I learned many useful things from you and used them on my Disco3. Good luck!!! Jakub (from Czech) 😊
The banter between you two folk is always enjoyable, and hearing that Vera doesn't know who the Stig was, was very amusing for a motoring enthusiast. Wikipedia states there were 9 international versions of Top Gear in addition to the original, with an audience reach of 350 million.
Good evening Vera & Christian 😊 A little late today as I’m back at work after my kidney stone 😫 You made that look easy taking that LR engine out 👍🏻 How cool was that Simon calling in from the U.K. and giving you both Bobby hats 👍🏻 Next week will be a great video revealing the damage 🤔 Have a great week and you mid your fingers Vera 😬 xx
Hope you are better soon😀🙋♀️
Another great video from you both ,can’t wait for the up and coming videos, Happy Easter.
Happy Sunday 🎉❤
It always cheers me up to see torque converter being dealt with correctly.
Wow! I'm exhausted just watching that...
Looking forward to finding out next week what the underlying issue is (other than the fact it is an LR product...).
This is a cliffhanger like a detective series!
Good update keep it up the good work 👍👍👍👍
Very good well done a lot involved taking out engine can't wait to have a look inside engine hope it's not to bad
