  • Another quick and dirty tutorial for someone on the Adobe Community forum asking how to create a simple marquee light effect like you see outside a theater or all over Las Vegas. I kept it quick and very simple by utilizing a 2-frame nested animation.

I'm very new to animate. i was able to follow this tutorial until we got to the part where you're adding the highlighting/shading. How did you get it show up on each bulb at the same time?

The bulb is inside a graphic symbol. That symbol is duplicated to create all of the lights. By editing the symbol art, I am changing every instance of that symbol on the stage. So adding a highlight to the symbol means all instances of the symbol get updated. If I edit it again and change the color or shape or scale etc, all instances will reflect any and all changes
