I have a Volvo electric power steering pump on my k swap Honda, which is connected directly from the battery to the fuse box is is that OK? Or I need to relay to adjust the power
I’m glad I came across this video, doing a lt swap but don’t want to buy the serpentine kit, got a mustang 2 front end with rack and pinon need to get oil to it,
Crazy that rear mount or front mount doesnt change response time. Do you think i could run 2 Volvo electric power steering pumps separately, one on steering and one on hydroboost brakes? Or would one be enough for both steering and hydroboost brakes? If i ran just one for both steering and brakes, would it need to be turned up on the pressure (max setting)?
Also, the Durango pump is even bigger (more flow) and faster responding than the volvo/fomoco pumps. Oh, and it lays horizontal rather than all those vertical pumps.
Here's that controller kit for the Volvo donor units: www.brunosteering.com/product/new-automatic-gps-volvo-c30-c70-s40-v50-power-steering-controller-kit/
I need some help. I put the Volvo pump in my trunk with the controller and I have the pump running full speed with the car stopped at idle. The problem I have is the first second or so of steering input it is tight and then it gets power assist. And also like many others have said if I turn the wheel one way and then change it the other way it gets tight for the first second trying to turn the other direction. Idk what to do! I tried running it on ATF, I switched it to CHF202, then I tried swapping racks, all the same.
Doesn’t the SW20 pump have a pressure adjustment nut so you can adjust the assist amount up or down? I keep getting told that the Volvo pumps die too quick but the SW20 pump will last at least 1-2 years, what is your experience?
Ive been running the sw20 pump for a couple of year’s no issue. I have heard you can adjust the pressure via the screw you can see on the top left side in this video, however i havent played with it
I’m looking at a mr2 pump for my e46 drift car and it has efactory angle kit similar to slr kits and I’m a small guy so I’m wondering if the mr2 pump would still be okay for me
This is the best and most informative electric power steering pump video I have found. Thank you :)
God bless you🙏Have a good day 🙏
So nice to have all this info in one place. Subbed.

Those Dodge pumps are junk. Just go for the Volvo. Cheaper and lasts longer

What do you mean by “grinding down” with sw20 pump? The fitting or the pump? Ty
I had to grind down my pump to make my fitting work because I was in a rush. Best to buy the correct fitting from MA motorsports website it’s only $14
Do you know if all Astra TRW2 pump are 1400 psi?
Every Pump puts out certain numbers like compression of an engine. I would say 1000 to 1200 would be more than enough!
Did you run a cooler with any of these?
