I love his style. A unique style of play. He made it look so easy that we cant even think that how difficult is to play like this effortlessly. Beautiful playing style
its very creative obviously as most people nowadays attack and focus on their consistency. This guy is literally borrowing the attackers power and is not using a lot of energy.
Oh Sang eun always managed to absorb all the power shots from his opponents and then play the switch in direction just at the right time. This would throw his opponents off rhythm. He would then follow up with his own placements shots and have them guessing. Very effective point after point in disturbing his opponents flow.
Are there any players left with this style in the modern game? I love this style and I have studied Oh Sang Eun and Vladimir Samsonov, but it seems that the faster and faster equipment with the plastic ball has turned the metagame into powerlopp-powerloop-powerloop!
Many thanks poster. My favourite player since Waldner. I keep on dreaming of an upgraded version of Oh beating FZD just by blocking and beautiful placement (Fegerl came close last year, but I think that was a one-off). Then I wake up and realise it's impossible in the game as it currently exists. A pity.
Great, Ryu Seung Min, Oh Sang Eun and now please the last one of the three koreans of the last generation, Joo Sae Hyuk Very good videos comrade, keep going
This type of play is the most annoying to play against. As most offensive players just get countered by their own power and the blocker looks just like a wall that you can't get past
Oh Sang Eun, one of my favorite players of all time! Together with Werner Schlager :) Nice video :) Would it be too much if I requested a Schlager vid? lol
i personally enjoy blocking, and making my attacker work harder for their follow up, if they can catch it. if they can't it gives me an opportunity to counter easily after.
I'm guessing eun is playing very hard sponge as ball is crisp and flat. I'm currently using that classic hurricane 2 great for sharp flat at the table blocks and flicks
One tip, when they put a vide saying that this is the best one in the bolqueio, do not show the score of the game. Because almost always, if you are playing with a Chinese, he is losing and probably lost the game.
There's a player like this in my club. He's not that good but can play like an absolute wall. I sometimes struggle against him because if my attack is not strong enough the ball just comes back
The older 40mm celluloid balls were a little faster..more spin..Oh Sang Eun's table tennis career ended with the poly balls...He's no longer competitive and a little older too...
I love his style. A unique style of play. He made it look so easy that we cant even think that how difficult is to play like this effortlessly. Beautiful playing style
It's not that difficult actually. He had a huge wing span because of his height, quite similar style to Samsonov.
@@dickn.ormous1064 lmfao go do it then

@@dickn.ormous1064 tell me you haven’t played at a high level of TT without telling me you haven’t played at a high level of TT 🤦♂️
Indeed.
In my opinion this is the best table tennis chanel.... You can learn a lot from it. Thanks for being consistant. :D
Thank you my friend! Enjoy!
A kind of mix between Samsonov and Waldner on many points
Probably; one of the most efficient table tennis player with mastery over control...
Oh is such a cool player. Makes it look so easy. I really admire him for this
ha, love this - it's like someone fires a lazer, and the target dude holds up a mirror and reverses the whole ting
One of the most beautiful table tennis ever
I have always enjoyed watching good blockers, it feels so good to be able to block your opponent's smashes/loops .
That was the Training with Ryu.when you can Block his Forehand ,you can Block everything 🙂
if trump wants his border wall he should have hired Oh sang eun.
No doubt. LOL

That very toxic "inside out backhand" deep into opponent's forehand, awesome blocking.

I know exactly how you feel
Maybe you could start by forcing them away from the table and then playing out wide

Great,
Ryu Seung Min, Oh Sang Eun and now please the last one of the three koreans of the last generation, Joo Sae Hyuk
Very good videos comrade, keep going
Thank you, I will do video about Joo Se Hyuk, stay tuned.
His block is so efficient
This type of play is the most annoying to play against. As most offensive players just get countered by their own power and the blocker looks just like a wall that you can't get past
But also one of the most interesting type of play to watch. Especially because of the good ball control of this kind of players.
+Metch98 No hate or somthing but yes. It isn't easy to master any type of play and it looks a little funny to me as well
Looks little funny?? His playing style looks so effortless and smooth to me.
Spyro Fury ikr, blocking is so bullshit
Yeah I have heard that my style is super frustrating from my club and opponents 😂😂😂
WOW, didnt know this guy, fantastic to watch. A real master he was, highest ranking no 5.....
your videos are truly awesome
this play just made my day.
Master!
Such an incredible player ! We miss him
His Reaction time is amazing
Loved to see him play
You know, when you win against Ma Long with blocking you're a real master
did you know when you win against ma long with blocking you're a real master?
Remind me the LEGEND Waldner.

Giving samsonov a taste of his own medicine
Such a pro.
Oh Sang Eun, one of my favorite players of all time! Together with Werner Schlager :) Nice video :)
Would it be too much if I requested a Schlager vid? lol
Werner Schlager video coming in near future, I can not promise when, but it will be. Thanks for watching!
Cool, thanks! Take your time, it was just a recommendation :)
are my two favorite too! hahaha
Thanks A LOT. GOD BLESS YOU.
I' like playing pinpong with using waldner and this guy style. Blocking and placement. my mentor on youtube
Oh had right shoulder surgery in 2007. after then, forehand loop had been worse.
first blocker-waldna second- oh sang eun
great wall of korea :)
oooooo korean waldner 👍
Oh Sang Eun you see, by the dawn’s early light...
Great video, thanks
I miss watching this guy play, to bad he had to fade away..
This guy looks fabulous...!
Espectacular !!
Imagine having this guy as a training partner :O
i personally enjoy blocking, and making my attacker work harder for their follow up, if they can catch it. if they can't it gives me an opportunity to counter easily after.
Smarter operations!!
He plays games comfortably.
Súper bien !
It's AMAZING
"좋아" 발음 겁나 정확하네 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
i always thought Sclager is evil, but this guy even more!
wow, is that block possible for human?
i really admire his foreseeing blocks
inspirational. a well placed block feels so nice when the other smashed. Like a big wave hitting a rocky beach.
His style look like Waldner :)
Interesting.... How did he fare against short and fast returns around mid-section and say, 5 feet from the base?
I'm guessing eun is playing very hard sponge as ball is crisp and flat. I'm currently using that classic hurricane 2 great for sharp flat at the table blocks and flicks
Asia's version of Waldner
One tip, when they put a vide saying that this is the best one in the bolqueio, do not show the score of the game. Because almost always, if you are playing with a Chinese, he is losing and probably lost the game.
Planning style is very similar to Waldner
You could tell that Ma Long was very frustrated with his style of play.
Incredible.
This guy is predictable but hard to play against.
I would pay a fortune to be coached by Oh ...ah i need $ and practice a lot !
So glad that ma long and timo boll looked amateur in the past...
what type of paddle is he using?
Poor Ma Long just being toyed around like that
Oh Sang Eun and Wang Liqin look almost the same!
He totally destroyed timo in oylmpics
not to discredit oh from his abilities, but it makes you wonder when his training with Ryu Seung min, helped his blocking game?
jun mitzutani video plssssss!
eastern waldner
He had Waldner like qualities but he was an underachiever.
He was more like Samsonov backhand oriented with good blocking skills and kinda passive.Waldner in his prime was a third ball attacker like Ma Lin.
3:27
Oh Sang Eun: quack
这是个Robot !Robot !
Looks like all the tall players have more control like Samsonov, they can just dictate the game.
There's a player like this in my club. He's not that good but can play like an absolute wall. I sometimes struggle against him because if my attack is not strong enough the ball just comes back
can rpb do a good block?
Molen Lee Probably yes, but placement is the problem. IMO in blocking, placement is more important than tehnique.
The "power" of block didn't work with Ma Long he lost 3x0.
The older 40mm celluloid balls were a little faster..more spin..Oh Sang Eun's table tennis career ended with the poly balls...He's no longer competitive and a little older too...
He is a Korean coach now. 40 mm slowed the game , not make it fast. But yes it added more spin game.
THE BLuE KINEZOS
1:56
5:00 against Wadner
It’s Werner Schlager
This is how I play
cherry-picking.
I dislike compilations from multiple matches and videos. Unrealistic.
