In this video we installed a new aftermarket radio in a 2003 Mercedes E55 with Audi 50 radio. You can follow this installation for cars with Command navigation also. It applies to 2003-2008 E class - Авто та транспорт

This install it's so much better then my own install and this is exactly what I would have wanted right down to the motorized or that continues to work after the install providing the hidden pocket so far I still don't have steering controls also the hardware for the kit including the faceplate and everything and so much better then what I want up with if I had seen this video prior to changing my 06 Mercedes there's no way I would have done anything other than what you see here! Very similar to the Kenwood DMX905S install I did in my SL65. One difference though, I wrapped the MOST and SWC converter boxes with cloth tape so they wouldn't rattle. It is a Benz after all. ;-)
Next I plan to disconnect the CD changer, Nav, Tel and voice modules eventually, using a MOST bypass loops. Then use SDS Star to reconfigure the car so it doesn't show malfunctions once disconnected.
I put a dual USB jack in my center console. Looks factory.
There are no rattles in this car. The owner of the E55 is very particular and this is one of many cars in his collection.
A few years of wanting a stereo with CarPlay on my car finally got a car last year.... finally got a stereo last week 😁

This is a great video Thai I have watched many times and it’s really helpful! I do have a quick question. My 2003 E320 has exactly the same power plug with 3 pins. But the port from the hardness only has two pins (yellow and black), how do you use the 3rd pin? Does it go to the Red ACC (accessory) to allow the key to control? It did not seem that you use it instead you connected the canbus and said the three thing( yellow, black and canbus) is all you need from the car. Can you please clarify that? Thank you so much!

Hi my merc. Is a 2002 220cdi and the radio has just 1 small plug like yours did. Was going to buy a touch radio from Ali express but I see all the other wires for camera, GPS, etc.. Could a radio like that get installed in my car?

I am curious though, does the wiring harness work with any aftermarket radio? I already have an aftermarket radio installed, but the issue I have is that my CD-change or the little storage box stopped working ever since, it won't open.
I suppose it's due the harness wiring, I checked to see if the wiring got screwed, but all I see is a loose 2 pins connector, I suppose that's it.
There is just nowhere to put it in.
Hoping it's the harness wiring and maybe I could replace it to get it back to work again, does it work on those android "stock" looking radios?
Sorry I somehow missed this. Our harnesses are compatible with any radio. And the pocket should work.
Great video, thanks for making it. Is there much sound quality degradation converting RCA to Fiber from original sound quality with factory head unit? I would like to use your module to install a Pioneer NEX unit and am wondering if my sound quality will be less then before with this setup ofretaining factory amp and speakers and SWC? I have never had any complaints. I would say it sounds the same or better.

This is not easy info to find. I got quoted $1,400 for someone to just put a cheap radio in for me. So trying to attempt myself, and this is the best explanation yet. Mines a 08 w211 w the Harman Karman. I hope this works!

Hi Enfig. Do you need the whole SRWH-W211 shebang to get the CD changer door opening? Or is the signal contained in the canbus decoder box?
I'm not sure. I have had customers that remove the factory amplifier in the trunk and the door does not work.
Did you do the whole install with the battery terminals still connected? Outstanding video btw, it's a tremendous help!
Yes. While removing battery terminals will protect you if you pinch a cable I do not feel that disconnecting the battery is necessary for this installation. But feel free to disconnect the battery if you wish to.
@@Enfig thanks a ton for the reply. One more quick question if you don't mind: how exactly do the aftermarket units make use of the factory antenna in the case of the Harmon Kardon units? Like the car in your video, I only have the fiber, and canbus cable bundle going to the back of my HU. My car has working factory GPS, so I'm guessing the HU sends all those instructions out over canbus and some other system fires into action? Does it work the same with the after market radios or do you have to go make physical connections at the radio antenna and GPS antenna?
Does this work with the e55 that has the fiber optic? I have Harmon kards system and want to upgrade my stereo.
This car actually is an E55 with HK. We just done mention it because all non E555 owners would be asking the same question and there are more of them lol.

Two questions, is this the Audio 50 APS M.O.S.T system? Ive just bought myself and 02' W211 and trying to understand the different systems this car came with. If so, is this the only way to make it work with and aftermarket player? I would like to change my speakers too someday but not the original amplifier, so I'm focusing on the audio system for now. Looks like an pretty easy job once you got all the components you need, I just have to be sure that this is the same original system that I have installed in my car.
This will only work with a MOST system. I think your car has a D2B system. You would have to change the speakers and amplifier since its the older pre 2003 D2B.
Do the steering wheel controls just plug in and connect. Also what time in the video do you do it’s install?
Depends on the radio but usually they just plug in. I don't understand the 2nd question.
Hi, I have an 04 E55 which I purchased just recently, it didnt come with an owners manual, but if I am not mistaken, the clock on the dash is set by the numerical buttons, which are discarded with the install of a new radio, from what I see in your video. How is the clock set now with those buttons gone? Cheers, and great vid.
This can also be done through the instrument cluster.

Might be a stupid question, but with the full package of harnesses, cables, etc, is your kit compatible with Boss BE7ACP-C Package on Crutchfield?
We do not have a plug and play solution for that radio but our parts are compatible.

Does the installation require you to remove the center speaker on the dash?
Since the installation uses the factory amplifier it keeps all the speakers.

We do have the parts need for that radio. We do no sell the pocket because you can buy it cheaper online than we buy it wholesale from our dealership.

I'm assuming you did not use our products. The new Pioneer 10" screen should fit since it has a standard single din back.

So I have an E-class MB E320 from 2003. Seems the previous owner was an idiot and he broke the locking mechanism and bracket for the audio unit. Is there anything I can do to remove the unit now without damaging anything. I already bought a new mounting bracket but first I need to get the broken one out. All help is welcome...

can the 6 disc cd changer still work with a double din radio? with this harness or does the 6 disk become obsolete?
No there is no way to make the CD changer work with any aftermarket radio.

I almost got it all squared away 2004 e320 I did away with fiber and running 2 after market amps 1 for aftermarket door speakers and the subs the player reboots from time to time while I am driving what could it be. They keep saying canbus I connected to the canbus hub and canbus box I see canbus is working got steering controls and can see when doors trunk are open
Does it work like the stock unit like I can still listen to radio without the key in or on
That is a feature built into many German OEM radios. They turn themselves off after a while to not kill the battery. I do not know of a single aftermarket radio that will turn on when the key is off and out.
Hey, really good video. I have successfully changed the stereo. But the middle CD-changer that opens outwards and upwards is getting stuck in the outer cover of the double din fascia. When it opens, it pushes the stereo cover out. Is there any way to fix this?
Did you use our installation kit? I have never seen that with our kit. If you did call us up for support. If you used someone else's kit I recommend you use our kit.

ok I have the 7logic harman becker be7039 model, it is broken, and the repair is very expensive. but I can't put that I have fiber optics on my system, I have to connect a component in the trunk with a cable
If the amplifier is broken then you either have to fix it or rewire the car. We sell the part without the fiber box for that installation.
Is the pocket that you used instead of the CD changer included in the kit ?
No that is a factory part that we do not sell. But we have the part number listed on the site.

The screen size doesn't matter. Its the size of the chassis and the plastic that holds the screen that matters. Most name brand radios fit in the dash kit.

my w211 with hk has 2 connectors on the back of the headunit, one with fiber optic and 3 wires, the other with 3 wires. Both harnesses are labled "Amp". Any idea what the third wire in each set could be? They are light tan, dark tan, and red+yellow.
could the second connection be due to my factory stereo having satellite radio?
@@lukerobertswr5189 I'm not sure what the 2nd connector is but is never used. Sounds to me like you did not buy our harnesses. I would call the people that sold you the radio. If you did buy it from us just call us for support.

I have a 2005 e320 with the Harmon karmon system. Would one of these radios work ? Or is there something I need to do a lot of people saying I would need a whole new speakers and wires etc.
No all the parts we sell allow you to keep the factory system. We recommend Sony radios with 5V RCA outputs.

We just found out that its built into the fiber box for some reason. Its not the can-bus box. We were testing with some Fiber boxes from china to try and bring the price down but they did not open the CD changer compatment.
Have you found another option to open the door without the cd changer installed ?

The radio won’t shut off. It’s always on. Should I find a differ 12v key?
That radio shuts off using data. The power behind the radio is always on. You need a can bus adapter. Our kit incudes one.

The canbus also supplies the reverse and switched 12V and illumination and parking brake and VSS. We actually came up with a new kit that does not have the fiber box for people that are swapping the amp.

CanBus is the non audio data. Audio is transferred through The MOST Fiber optic cables.

If I order this dash kit and it doesn’t end up fitting my stereo would I be able to return it? Or do you know the dimensions of the dash kit?
The opening on the face of the RMK7-W211 is 98mm x 172mm to accommodate a standard 96mm x 170mm radio nose. The nose is the part the sticks out from the rear chassis. We also have a new kit that at this time is not on the site. RMK-W211-S to accommodate radios with shallow faces.
The face on the RMK-W211 requires a 10mm deep nose or it will not sit flush. If you are confused send us an email with your radio make and part so we can confirm fitment. Look at this article about shallow face radios. www.ceoutlook.com/2017/06/21/car-radios-undergo-shape-shift/

Yes. I'm always make sure to point out when warning lights do not auto reset.

@@Enfig The problem at mine was that both radios were connected at the same time. When thats the case, the Can-Bus get's a wrong signal. I just had to delete the errors and after that it worked.
@@fredfrog123 Still I don't think that would cause an SRS light to stay on. But I've also never tried to connect two radios to a car at the same time.

So I tried to use a universal pocket and failed miserably. The universal pocket pushed out on the mechanism and didn't let the pocket open. I spent so much time with that pocket that I didn't have tome to re-film it.

Will changing the factory head unit out with an aftermarket (kenwood ddx57) lose key fob functionality?
I just bought the car with head unit installed and have had no key fob functions. Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

Sorry I never saw this. It will not cause that to happen. On some MB the key fob receiver is behind the ashtray. I would check to see if someone left it disconnected. Let me know if this helps.

What size double din would fit the 2008 E550? I am looking into Pioneer NEXs just need to know the size.
All standard Double din radios fit. All Pioneer NEX Double Din radios will work.
I’ve installed Pioneer AVH in my C5 corvette, 2 Jeep Wranglers and you can always get the harness kits for those that are literally plug and play. For W211 I’ve read up so much and since mine has Logic 7 Harman Kardon I’m reading mixed messages. Are there wiring harness kits for wiring the W211? Thanks for your help. I just got the car last night it’s practically brand new and never even driven in rain. It’s a 2007 E550

All the speakers are kept in the car but the box uses the front RCA for audio.

When you remove the radio if you remove the fiber and you lose audio that means that your audio travels through fiber.

You probably didn't buy the harness from us. I hear that complaint all the time about the fiber adapters that people buy on ebay and amazon. If you did buy it from us just call us up for support.
We did buy it from you. It was on backorder for awhile. Finally got it, and wired up, no sound. However, two days later I guess the sound played for a minute, then cut out completely again. I'm thinking it's the stock mercedes amp.
Make sure you installed the included fuse. Call us for support. I know it’s rare nowadays but we actually pick up the phone.

To add steering wheel controls is an extra $10. The main harness already has them built in your just need a cable.
How can I watch sling or Netflix the unit isnt letting me but I can get UA-cam just cant stream Netflix I have the 8.1 for the cls550

So why do I need to install a most loop if I'm not going to be using anything on the most network since comand is getting replaced?
In this video we keep the factory amplifier and bypass the CD changer. That is why we use the loop.

I've installed a D8 in my W211 06 but the os runs quite slow. Apps like Google Maps or Waze are sometimes impossible to use (run too slow). Moreover when I get an incoming call I can use any navigation app but the dynavin's. Any clue about making it work in a decent way? I have a pretty good internet connection but apps run too slow and I can't even split the screen like in android 9
I"m sorry but I don't trust android radios so I do not install them. I still take them out of customers cars. You're a perfect example of why.

Does actually every Pioneer double din radio the possibility to adx the steering wheel controls? Or is there a feature I need to look for?
I think they all do at this point. I know that all of them with a touch screen do. I don't install many radios without a touch screen. And there are also certain radios made specifically for big box stores like Walmart that I know nothing about.
@@Enfig thanks for the reply! I'm planning on a double din pioneer radiobut I'm not a big fan of touch screens (personal taste). I hope the steering controls will work than. No one can say it with certainty 😛

Great video, but I can not find the car canbus connector, I have an E350 2006 with no main harness connector like your video. How can I find the car canbus connector in order to keep the volume control on steering wheel?

@@Enfig when will you sell again the Enfig SRWH-W211-NONMOST, i have replaced the E W211 2006 original amplifier and radio, and replaced both for new amplifier and Universal 9" Android. I need to connect this screen with the original steering wheel volume control and others features. Please answer me as soon as possible.
@@gustavoescate5560 Right now because of the price increases and limited inventory we are not expecting that part to come back. Only the regular harness with all the parts needed for an installation.

Unfortunately there is no simple answer for that. It can be many different modules in the car going bad. It can also be a broken wire or a loose fuse. Its also harder to fix when its working.
Do you have for e55 w211 that came from Japan? It has lots of connectors a bit confusing.

I have a problem where the headunit turns on but there is no sound. Everything is where they should be. What could be the problem? Tested with a unit from an other car that works but same issue.
Sounds like a bad factory amplifier. But without seeing the car its hard to be sure.

Hey Mate. Ive got a CLS C219 and i changed my Radio 2 Year ago. But i cannot use that pocket under the radio anymore. It wont open and i have 2 wires left. I dont know where they belong. Hope you can help me.
Sorry but I have never done a radio in a CLS. I don't know what harness you have and since you didn't buy it from us I cant provide support.
@@Enfig The CLS C219 is the same like E Class W211.
The Only thing is that i do not connect 2 connectors cause i dont know where they belong.
Both are for the thing under Command those "secret" place for sunglases or something else.
