Hello Mr. Embers! Just to show that we're doing our homework this is your most ambitious shoot to date and it's cinematic. You just keep getting better at your craft. I dabble in video and I couldn't tie your shoelaces. I won't go into the menu...that could be a video all on its own. Two observations... You continue to have knees of steel and especially in this vid...fingers of asbestos! Wow!!!! Your mainest fans in Alabam, Norm and Vicky.
Hi Norm, another great comment, thank you for the kind words, I always wanted to do a video like this where I went from mountain to coast and the freestyle paved way for the opportunity to do so. My fingers are so used to dealing with fire now I never even really think about it. My knees however are becoming troublesome so I really need to get a kneepad, I edit out the bit where I grumble when I get up 😂. Thanks so much to you and Vicky for watching, much appreciated, all the best, Chris
@@northernembersoutdoors1045 I howled at the knee thing. I have zero trouble getting down...it's the rest that...well... Anyway Chris you simply outdid yourself this vid. Of all the keepers this one goes on the mantle. GREAT job! And super great hearing back! Wow!!! Norm
Being someone who makes videos myself I can see just how much effort you put into this! You do such great work! Your shots are set up so well in your editing is graceful. So very enjoyable in every way you do excellent video work Chris not to mention your cooking skills and how you handle yourself in the wilderness. Top job my friend!
Thanks Steve, thanks for sending out the freestyle, top product and I love it, I think the firepit 6 or 8 are my favourite setups, such a joy to use. In all I've done 8 cooks so far and I think it's awesome, here's a funny thing though, I missed using my firebox g2! Ha, I'm so spoiled as to what to use now! So I better get it back out! Honestly, love it all so much, thanks so much, so much appreciation from me, cheers Chris
Thanks, it was good being up there, made me think to get up more often, that was Ben Lawyers in the background, the 10th highest mountain in Scotland, been up a few times, lovely, cheers Lezley
You got quite the collection of Firebox stuff! I like how versatile this one is🔥🔥 Great cooking as always, Chris😋 Such beautiful places you take us for your meals😀
Thanks Gregor, I like to get that flavour into the burgers, but of course without burning then to a cinder😅👍. The stove configurations were fun to try out, actually all were successful so we good for learning, Cheers for watching.
Nice idea for a video and some good meals there Chris. Sauce on black pudding? I never thought to do that because I always think of black pudding as a breakfast thing but it looks like a good idea. I have started using Firepit 6 with a sandwich sized ziplock bag of charcoal. Set the grate above the feed ports and there is enough to do a meal, whatever is left of the charcoal kickstarts a wee campfire if the wood is a bit damp.
Thanks Paul, sounds good, I quite liked the firepit 6 to, sounds like you have it completely sussed out. I like the idea, and also they are great for a wee campfire eh. I know it looks like black pudding but that was haggis and I added a peppercorn sauce, difficult to tell as I wasn't speaking, haggis is heart, liver and lungs of a sheep, doesn't sound too nice but it is ha ha, cheers Paul
What's up mate? cat got your tongue, mic broken, or just couldn't be arsed to speak! Missed your antipodean brogue. Those venison burgers looked deerlicious... Sorry I'll get my coat
We're gonna fire up some deer chili tomorrow. I'd love to know if his venison is from one someone got or bought in a store. (Not sold in stores here.) Deer hunting there is a complete mystery to me.
Hello, thanks for the comment, I did think about talking but with six cooks and all the travelling it makes for longer filming, editing and a longer video that I made life a bit easier for myself and let the stove do the talking😎. You made a bad joke....oh deer😎
@@LezleysAdventures Thanks. Well. Yep. Here in the colonies you can shoot it, and you can chew it... but ya can't sell it. I suspected what you said. UPVOTE!
Hi Rob thanks for watching. Good spot, the bag is a Highlander 33. To be quite honest it's become my go to outdoor cooking bag, it's lightweight, sturdy and has a good amount of pockets, I really love it, now that you mention the 44 I think a slightly bigger bag would be great. Thanks again, Cheers Chris

Great video and some great cooking. Love the firebox kit.. 👍

Hi mate, aye I'm lucky, love using the gear to, high quality, pleasure to use.
That's great again. Thanks. My first impression on the country side cooking was: oh, he's grilling a snake ;-)
Heh heh, actually saw one not so long ago, very rare to see here, that sausage did look a bit dodgy right enough😂, thanks for watching, cheers Chris
Awesome Chris, 6 cooks, stove configurations and locations in one video. The flame grilling finish to the bugers, damn you. Cheers man.

I was just getting the feeling "It's been a wee while since Chris at Northern Embers uploaded" then bam, 6 videos in one👍🏻👌🏻
Thanks Ben, I might of over done it but I just wanted to show all the configurations of the stove, thanks for watching bud, cheers

What back pack you rocking my friend?
I've been thinking about purchasing the Highlander Forces in 44l.
Is that a Highlander you're using?
