@@zibberebbizif it's against the law of that country to use drugs then oh well. Choices and consequences
@@son_of_odin3886There is such a thing as an unjust law, you know that right?
@aidanwarren4980 just because you see it as unjust does not matter. If you know it's the law and you do it then you accept the consequences. If you drink and drive and then go to jail and lose your license that's your fault
I do appreciate that the kitchen caters to 6 to 8 different diets.
Smiling and happy, no one with their heads in their cellphones -- just living in the moment.
At least he has really good soap. That in itself is enough to keep ultra man going.
good that all diet plans are solely based on health and not religion
3 years for drug consumption is crazy, people who do drugs have a problem putting them behind bars doesnt help them it just removes the problem for a certain amount of time. Most drug users still use it after getting released, they need a reformation program to solve the problem permanently
I would think it would be a solution. 3 years of this situation. After that amount of time that has passed, they are clean. I bet they think "Yeah I'm not doing another 3 years of that to get high for one night."
I'm not saying 3 years of that is right, just saying I bet they don't have a lot of repeat offenders.
Not that I've really done any research but I would think after their sentence they have to go through some sort of rehab program
Singapore is such a tiny country but with a crazily rich government and a well payed highly efficient management system, and has zero tolerance toward drugs. If you can still mange to get yourself some drug under such circumstances, you are very sussy. Your crime probably also includes Illegal smuggling of contraband at least.
Some people get less. I knew a guy who only got one year for an oz of weed, some speed and acid. Make no mistake, every drug is in Singapore, they are just sneaky about it, and its expensive. 😅
Inmate: I'm hungry in jail, rice always.
Victim: I can't walk much from assault
WaLaou!!! Very tough huhh!!!
A budget hotel room in Singapore is literally the same size as these prison cells. The only difference is that you get a comfortable bed and a western toilet 😂
And you can get out whenever 😅
0:00 I seriously thought it was a split mirror image for a second.

Seems like everything is done on the floor.. Tough time over there 😬
Singapores prisoners have better food than school meals in America 💀
Parents should be making their kids lunches.
@@RezaQinsome parent don’t care/can’t afford 🤷🏻♀️
This prison is so good, that i want to spend here my weekends
Really minimalist lifestyle
They seem to feed them better than they do here in the USA. It's crazy how each and every prison is so different!
Lets be real here. Although i agree the food looks good. Thats what they showed the press. Clean cell by yourself? Probably for the press. I can almost guarantee there will be consequences for him insulting the food too the press. They are similiar here. Ive never been to "prison" but i did spend several months in a county jail in the southern usa which is considered way worse than prison. I was eventually found "not guilty". Ill never get that time back. I can say, based on the conditions i saw/was put through, what you see on film is the tip of the iceberg. That baton on the guards side looked.... used .. worn even. Just just keep that in mind
I think it's very nice to have your meal adjusted to your dietary needs, get fruits and they have variations too. Idk about the flavor but their meal looks like the low sodium, low carb, msg-free, healthy catering service that I used to order (maybe they taste the same lol)
Low carb? Its all rice and noodles.
@@MrGeorgewf Well, clearly his meal isn't the low-carb one.
The two prisoners laughing in the beginning of the video were laughing like they were in a tv show not prison.
I went to Singapore and it felt like I was in the future. Zero homeless, no trash on the streets or crazy people screaming and no fear of any crime whatsoever. This is why. They don't mess around. Too bad in the US they aren't more strict.
tell that to the federal government then
I find it interesting in the differences of how each country treats prisoners
Max security for drug intake that's seems unfair tbh
Its singapore bro not thai
It is a very well known fact yet these prisoners chose to break it. Nobody forced them, they chose despite knowing how strict the drug laws are in singapore
Don't ever come to Singapore then
@@timngim583 Don't worry buddy wouldn't even think about that. Asia ain't my thing too much of a societal boogaloo for my liking.
It’s his 4th incarceration. So maybe that’s why his sentence is longer. Max security for a reason.

I was talking to an Australian lady who lived in Singapore. She was more than willing to forego certain political rights because it was a very safe place. In Australia, she had to have male friends accompany her to her car outside a restaurant because of the presence of unruly males outside. In Singapore, at least in this prison, the guards run the prison, unlike in many Western countries where it is the prisoners. Obviously, if you want little crime, Singapore is a great example of how to achieve it.
My man at the end there more concerned about how dry his soap is than getting out 😂😂
This is good to watch it reminds me of a hospital
Keep in mind it's because of stuff like this, the reason why Singapore is so successful and it's such a beautiful country
The food surprisingly looks good.
My sister got a tattoo while we were taking a holiday there. I believe she said her tattooist served a year in prison just to avoid compulsory military service
The inmates are extremely lucky they’re in a nice prison
Three years for drug consumption in a place that provides your no commissary and full 48 hour lockdowns weekly? Who exactly is lucky here.
theres no bed, worse than US
@@smonyboy its common for most people to sleep on the ground in singapore, i do it and its alright. its hard to adjust to but it helps make my posture more straight, and sometimes when im sick or hurt i use blankets as cushions. different countries have cultures you might find weird!!

Singapore is tough on crime. Even littering is punished harshly.
Mat Selamat: not so tough

Compared to Malaysian prisons, they are literally in a hotel prison.
no wonder Singapore is the safest country in the world. US need to learn alot from them
1:36 Low sugar for diabetic inmates, but 2 bowls of rice in their meal.
hhhaaaa
No sugar
@@the3onionsdiabetic people are not supposed to eat carbs like rice. They turn to blood sugar, not literal sugar.
@@bryanleeyf87 First off, thw only study that says that rice cannot be eaten by diabetic people is a single white rice study from 2012, also, whole grain rice is great for everyone, including diabetic people.
No seat to sit down, no bed to sleep on, locked up for 48 hours in a cell. This would cause someone to lose their mind and fall into a deep depression.
Such strict conditions for just drug consumption?
Yes coz acc to Singaporean philosophy, murder etc. affects one person. Drugs on the other hand affects an entire community. It causes the deaths of all the souls of the people who consume it(addicts basically). There's an interview of the Singaporean leader who implemented this. I forget his name tho
They eating better than me ... 😢
Wish someone made sure I was getting all the proper nutrients daily 😅
@satinsangel1688 It's obvious you're lazy and want to be fed on a silver platter😂 just do your research, lmao.
First guy looks so happy ☺️ Must be in there for chewing gum
My guy just wanted to know what it felt like to chew 5 gum

correction , chewing gum is legal in Singapore , is a common misconception that is illegal , it is illegal if u sell gum in Singapore , consumption of gum is legal
Chewing gum has been legal since the 2000s
