    This is a great idea and colaboration !! ... I started off by clay and the Silicone to make my first few molds, and i randomly found out there's CNC molds and that changed everything for me, my dad used to do CNC machining and LOVED fishing so it was nice to get into this hobby cause it was something my Dad would have appreciated and really enjoyed himself, So I see this as being a GREAT gift for a father and son or daughter kinda bonding thing where they make baits and go out and try em togther ... I appreciate how you did the mistakes :D cause when i first did any of this i freaked out, but after the first mistake, you realize that its ok ... Specially showing how to do multi colored baits !! great stuff

    Saw these yesterday! Really cool! Wish they allowed you to choose the three colors you wanted versus having them pre-packed but looks like a great way to get started in soft plastics! If I had to choose one I'd have to go with the curly tail worm kit to start.

    Hey Chris. I just came across your channel. I live in South Texas (Aransas Pass) mainly fish for speckled sea trout and red drum. I fish 99% artificial. I want to get into making my own lures. I just don't know what molds I want to get. I usually use Gulp 4 "shrimp, and some mullet looking paddle tail. I'm curious how those AI 4g look in person. What do you think would be a good mold fore to start with. Thanks

      @exploringt.h.c.440 a comparable mold is $30 from Ai...the 2 cavity 7.5" ribbontail worm mold...they dont sell this exact 1 cavity version so i cant know for sure what price would be, but lets say $18-20 for the mold plus shipping. then the plastic, most plastisol is sold by the 1 gallon at minimum, usually $30 for a gallon plus shipping, making your average 1 gallon of plastic closer to $40-45...even the bait plastics sampler pack is $25. Then you would need to source the colors, because unlike the kit, your raw plastic is colorless...to reproduce the 3 colors in the kit you are looking at an additional $7 per 4oz bottle..totaling $21. The probe thermometer is about $12...then a Pyrex cup, which can be found for less than $10 pretty much anywhere..point being, to source everything in this kit as you would have to buy it would cost more than $79. Could you find a cheaper little worm mold? Sure possibly..maybe even cheaper plastic...but to recreate the kit buying everything separately is way more $$.

    How much better is the heat pan vs the griddle? I'm a new guy getting into this and i don't think i'll be getting the starter kit. Much rather have all the colors and glitter on hand and just work my way getting mould after mould and just starting that route. They should have made a kit with all the colors and glitters and the additional things and just call it the ultimate starter pack that would have been much more better. I added it up and it's a lot cheaper getting it all individual, that's kind of an L.

    • @WorldsWorstFishing
      @WorldsWorstFishing  6 місяців тому +1

      No disrespect, but to source everything to recreate the kit as you would have to buy them from the mold/bait vendors is way more than $79 flat...just 1 gallon of plastic is $45 shipped...the kit bypasses that expense by offering sample sizes pre-colored...your average 4oz bottle of color being $7 by itself. Then a comparable mold, then the $12 thermometer..then the pyrex..it adds up.

    • @WorldsWorstFishing
      @WorldsWorstFishing  6 місяців тому

      To answer your question tho..a pancake griddle is your best store bought option for heating any bait molds 👍👍
