Well, at least you have these idiots to give you content.
You are absolutely 1000% right. I've always said this too. Your one of the rarely coaches or the only coach out there on social media that says the truth with no B.S. amd straight forward to the point. For me doing basic old school workouts and compound llifts have gave me the best gains and strength. Also training to almost failure or failure to every set have gave me the gains. Of my own experience doing high reps with light weight and getting a pump and a good burn gave me 0% muscle and i lost size and strength during pandemic days by doing workouts at home and legs at park with body weight lunges cuz Gym's were closed during that time. ...Progressive overload and a good weight to failure and add here and there a drop set gave me the gains. Weights are a must with progressive overload.. All this new social media fitness infliencers roiders are a bunch of clowns with ridiculous invented silly comic workouts. What a joke. Ridiculous....
Blessings Sean N. U are the real deal. 🤜🤛

Wtf was athlean x doing
Seriously what even is that?😂
@@TemJuul omni
I snorted laughing when that popped up.
It’s one of those things where if you aren’t into fitness it looks like some revolutionary invention but really it’s bullshit 😂
"it's called functional training"
Jeff Cavalier
Well....research is going on ..😂
Sean is a prime example of this because most of his content is the same basic advice that people still fail to implement.
People want a slow cooker body in microwave time.
Basic advice keeping you big as hell
@@heybro6105eloquently said
Mean really there is only so many basic exercises for each body part
Athlean X actually doing the X
Was truly a moment.
The best part was when Athlean said "it's x-ing time" and started x-ing all over the place.
Wakanda forever?😅😅
X-Factor.
NGL, I tried this exercise of his when the video first came out and thought it made perfect sense. I'm glad that now Jeff doesn't invent a bycicle every time
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Remember: just because someone with an impressive physique shows themselves implementing techniques X, Y and Z...
Doesn’t necessarily mean that X, Y and Z are all contributing positively to their results or that this is even something they do in real life outside of social media.
Example: bodybuilder with a big chest posts a training video showing 5 different pressing and fly variations.
The natural inclination is to assume that these all must be great exercises because, well, look how big the guy’s pecs are.
Clearly it works.
However, it could be that only the first 2 movements are legitimate high quality exercises and are producing the vast majority (if not all) of his gains...
And the other 3 are just ineffective fluff that aren’t providing any extra benefit.
So despite the fact that he’s achieved a desirable result and is obviously doing some things right, that doesn’t mean *everything* he’s doing is right or that you should just blindly copy it without questioning anything.
And again, just because someone posts something on social media - whether it’s a certain exercise, diet strategy, supplement or whatever else - doesn’t even necessarily mean that this is how they actually built their physique in the first place.
That's why I love Sean, Jeff nippard and Mike israetel's content. Same exercises every week, excellent form, never gets old. Can't get enough
Ya only following these guys from a month.
not a fan of the others besides sean frankly
bruh Nippard gives dumb exercises too, what was that moto cable rows, just stick to Sean, Movers Odyssey, Buff Dudes and Mario and Luigi Rios
And that applies to all things. Being good at something, and giving good advice about said thing are two different realms.

So true! Been lifting for 14 years. Basic exercises all the way. All olympians throughout the decades have done the same exercises. There’s no reinventing the playbook.
That’s why I rather rewatch training videos of old school bodybuilders.
While I obviously won’t follow it entirely, at least I know the training routine shared by them is indeed more or less the workouts they normally do when not being recorded
Sean’s out here preaching the truth! Always a good reminder to stay true to your followers rather than content chase - thanks for the reminder 💪🏼
I trust this guy and Jeff nippard with my life that’s about it

Keeping it real
Bodybuilding can get so specific as you advance, but I agree, mastery of the basics and fundamentals can get you so far.
#2 Rule
Stick to basic compounds and isolation exercises that have been used in a timeless matter
Lifting is repetitive and boring. We stay committed because of the physical, mental, and sexual benefits.
K.I.S.S.
Every single sport could be considered repetitive and boring, because in every single sport you repeat the same loop of movement over and over again to get better at it.
@@Tomas-turbao When you're in a game, not once do you think it's boring unless the other team is much worse than yours.
@@TheCactuar124 your point doesn't make any sense, i am talking about intrinsic reasons to consider certain sports as boring, you are putting extrinsic reasons to consider a particular match boring, but the sport is not boring per se.
Bro I instinctively did a squat brace without thinking when he said brace yourself 💀
Burst out laughing immediately after
Same goes for supplements.
If you take their advice litarally you can start a new pharmacy.
I've only been taking protein powder, creatine and vit D for a couple of years now and my progress is naturally normal. That pill of magnesium, zinc, calcium, omega3 or Turkesterone won't increase the progress for 0,1%.
Taking some supplemental magnesium + potassium is great though if you are struggling with cramping.
You really think someone would do that? Just go on the internet and lie?
I never thought I'd see the day
Incroyable!

I would pay actual money to dislike this comment.
Joel seedman never fails to make me laugh😂
"I don't need to tell you the truth. I just need you to believe that I'm telling you the truth."
-Every Influencer Ever!
Even in sports, the more gifted you are as an athlete, the harder it is to coach others because certain aspects of the sport comes so easy and naturally to you.
Completely true. These guys built their physiques doing standard vanilla exercises, not crazy instagram variations.
I just stick to the basic fundamental compound exercises…can’t go wrong with that i guess
I like learning about different variations for when certain lifts become stale, but at the end of the day the basics will always prevail
it's videos like this is why I give this man any merit.
Thank you, sir.
The basics is how everyone builds their body.
Thanks for keeping it real! It really helps not feeling overwhelmed by having to introduce a new workout technique every two weeks.
General rule, if the set up takes longer than the actual set. It's not worth trying.
I trust Sean. I don't trust dudes who act in the gym like they're in a circus.
Wonderful, he's 💯 right, too bad most people don't understand that.
That last part though… 100% Facts!
Yeah.. come to think of it... if creators stick to the good old fundamentals and proven classics... you gonna run out of content. All those weird tips and "secrets" are mostly content driven. Txs Sean for unveiling
Nah its totally fair to advise stuff you don’t actually do as long as it is good advice.
That athlean-x chest workout was definitely included by TikTok dance.

The only fitness influencer who truly has no bs with their videos
This man has become my bodybuilding spirit animal...
This guy ain't about bullshit, but real facts.
Thumbs up for you Sean. I've been following you since 2011.
There you go again Sean, spittin’ facts!!! I see lots of BS content all the time, and a lot of it isn’t productive exercises. Straight forward progressive overload is key.
I find it crazier that there are people out there with amazing genetics who still take juice

These influences are like Paul walker who's shifting never ends..
it is good that sean is so honest about himself
Nailing the fads. Keep going Sean
Good advice. Love your video describing how you didn't get jacked 'til you resorted to progressing on basic movements. And more and more guys are finally saying this as well.
I love it how Ryan Humiston is shunning compounds like there's no tomorrow, while he built his entire physique on them in the past. 😅
It’s a pretty forward straight stuff, period.
Sean is so fucking real.
Your my favourite fitness influencer so should I trust you
People back in the seventies and eighties are proof you can get there even doing it wrong.

Lmao Jeff is killing it
Keep training simple. Don't over think it
Joel seedman is a prime example that just because he calls himself a doctor, doesn’t mean he knows what he’s talking about.
Keep preaching! 🙌🏻
That’s why I love your shorts, just speaking the fking truth. As much as I love alternative work outs, some are just silly, inefficient, and dangerous especially the ones popularized for the algo.
One of the best examples is athlean x bastardized the up right row then you see Sean variation and I admit it's a great exercise

Things I found when starting my fitness journey:
1) No one knows anything
2) Almost everyone is on PEDs
Great
I try what I see, if it doesn't work for me, I move on and maybe try again later on .
That’s not just fitness influencers. Pretty much none have actual training or experience in their subjects. Most financial influencers got rich from TikTok or UA-cam rather than investing.
This is why Leon Edwards has the most aesthetic physique
Every influencer: Everyone is showing you fictional stuff, except me. So watch me. Pwahahahaha.
The athlean x clip had me rolling 😭😭
Spit those facts my man
I remember the Hodge Twins saying this back in the day. They did slightly different workouts every week, just so they had something to post.
Exactly, they are out of ideas...new ideas for clout. Basic weight training and consistency trump "optimal" variations these influencers come up with. My friend does these stupid training programs with too many variations instead of straight forward lifting and not happy with his progress.
100% correct.
I guess, besides all the other valid points, the most important one is: "Social Media is not real life." People forget about this and take most of the bs presented in Social Media as granted.
Sean is the true fitness influencer
Hi Sean. I have been watching a lot of your older videos lately, the ones from 6-7 years ago as I find them very informative and entertaining. You had a very tough injury with the “snapping triceps” not allowing you to do freeweight exercises that rely on using your triceps. I was wondering how that is for you, considering I’m seeing more clips of you doing Dumbell Bench Presses and other freeweight exercises. Thanks for all the info, you’ve helped me so much in turning going to the gym into a lifestyle and properly structuring my training and nutrition which built me the base of muscle on my physique I have now!
I'm glad someone said it.
I was all on board until my own regimen was called out. It was a bitter pill to swallow but in the end, I’m better off.
Sean on that helium
My brother told me to do face pulls so I got on UA-cam to see how to do it. I was doing 15kgs and thought I was doing it right. He visited over Easter and told me the proper way. I soon dropped from 15kgs to 3kgs and it was getting my rear deltas and I felt the burn. He then said dont be a hero while doing face pulls.
You are a true legend 🙌👍
This guy has something to say about everybody....wow...
💯 this is why I like your channel!
Keep up Your great Work.I Love Your Channel.I Really Respwct Your Honesty!!
100%. Anytime I see old training videos of Arnold, he's doing mostly run of the mill tried and true exercises. He did "OK" using those.
Though I do enjoy seeing one of these influencer videos and then seeing someone at the gym trying the bizarre variant.
Yes, most of it is pretty basic, straightforward stuff. 👍
