Ok in theory but having one leader over the others, and he happens to be a wolf or a false teacher, then that could be very, very dangerous.
I was tracking until the end conclusion about one elder above the others. It sounded like that was a practical belief but not supported with any Scripture.
Maybe this is a me problem, but my last 2 churches were elder led and there was a pastor ousting with zero explanation. I understand anonymity, but both felt very deceptive and good ol boy club related.
Yeaaa
The Som does not submit to the Father nor does the Spirit submit to the Father. Each is truly God and equal in power and authority.
Are the church leaders in the Bible got paid a monthly salary? Or they all had to live on faith as everyone else?
According to Paul, pastors/elders had the right to be paid for their service. 1 Timothy 5:18 "You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain and the labourer. is worthy of his wages". Paul also dealt with this specifically in 1 Corinthians 9. In verse 14 he says "Even so the Lord commanded that those who preach the Gospel should live from the Gospel".
1 Timothy 5:17 elders/pastors worthy of double honor
But there is a lot of issues that come with Pastor lead, and the reason being is this, why did the children of Israelites want to king when God said, explicitly, he wanted to be their king? In third John verses 9 and 10.
I don't think OT Israel is meant to inform NT church polity, especially when NT speaks directly to it. 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. Any form of church structure has issues because human leaders are fallen and sinful. Need to be careful not to let human wisdom overwrite Biblical instruction.
