Good to hear on Fasusi. I don't understand why recruits would want to go to a program such as OU. Florida, FSU, Auburn, etc. that are having significant issues. Texas is a poster child for stability, success and good culture. Development and NFL players.
Yes. Everything you say about UT is accurate. Re: OU, he knows young players there, it’s close to home, a good school, AND maybe the biggest, at the time he signed he was going to earn crazy immediate playing time. Right, wrong, or indifferent, his path to that is more likely in Norman. Doesn’t make it a good one, but that’s why. He could get into a playing role (starting or not) at UT.
@Kelly_HornsUp This is all true if you're looking at very recent history, but all programs have theirs ups and downs in both their pasts and futures, including Texas.
Even though OU Sux, I have total respect for their program's much longer and better history of producing NFL stars. I have highest hopes that OU's recent coaches will ruin all future NFL potentials, but no college student should go to a university that doesn't give them a great leg-up into their professional careers. As accountaints, as lawyers, doctors, athletes. Up until recently, football prospects should have asked one question: "Will Stoops give me a better chance into the NFL or Mack Brown?" And that answer was STOOPS. This was ALL Brown's fault, too. HE COULD HAVE FIXED IT but noooooo...
The good thing is that EVERY YEAR can be different. But it's usually the same coaches. The same coaches evaluate and select. The same coaches develop skills. Recruits and players change every year - but the good coaching staffs make a lot of difference. For players that select schools other than Texas, Sark, etc, we can watch the future and HOPEFULLY wipe our brows - "Whew! We got lucky by letting him go." That's not something we can say about Mack Brown and Adrian Peterson who can participate in OU recruiting RBs meetings. Darn.
@@Kelly_HornsUp you must be new to Texas football to call them a poster child for stability. Look at Oklahoma, they have had 3 coaches in 25 years. We have had how many?
I hope he's given winning plays not "throw deep and pray" or else "Let's throw deep, scare the secondary and then do dump-passes and let receivers run wild?" I complain about poor blooking (run- and pass-) but giving Quinn good quick plays seems to give the best results.
It can be a difficult decision, and arguably the most impactful individual decision a high-end athlete will ever make. Which program offers the best path to the NFL? There are numerous factors in the answer, and sometimes there is no right or wrong answer. Some guys are better suited being big fish in small ponds, like Roethlisberger at Miami-OH, while others need elite competition and coaching to achieve their goals.
I can offer a reason. You are an 18-year-old stud football player wanted by every college in the US to play football for them for the next three to four years. Why would you not check out your top five? You might travel by plane (some of have never been on a flight) to see the program from the inside, meet the head coach, the position coaches, players, facilities academic staff, are dined, coddled, probably set up with a pretty coed and you can get a true sense -- is this where I want to spend the next four years of my life? It is a huge decision, especially for such a young man.

@Fleming That is so true. It is like a high G5 schedule
What are the main reasons some recruits wait to the last week or two to decide? Are they hoping to get a bigger NIL deal, ego or something else?

Things change. If Bedenbaugh was definitely staying, Fasusi doesn't make these visits.

Are there any Kickers/ Punters being recruited? Auburn is a Senior.
So is Frrench gone flip to Florida?
You will have to be concerned.

Anything on Kade Philips?

Do y’all think Texas regrets not taking keelon Russel given how his season and ranking has turned out? Could’ve helped long term w dk moore too
No. And it wouldn’t have helped with Moore.
Arch is probably staying 2-3 years after this year and after that there's a good chance Dia Bell will take over he's a absolute monster of a qb.
