I find it kinda weird that Florida ran the ball 41 times without one holding call all game. I've seen a trend against Texas in the SEC officiating. There's absolutely no way every carry by Florida was clean inside the tackles.
I’ve been saying this for 3 years now, PK has got to coach his guys up on selling some freaking holding calls. They always seem to go one way, in favor of whoever Texas is playing. It was like this in the Big 12 too
@TheCGat look at the Vanderbilt game. Our d-line is superior to them and Vanderbilt looked better than they were due to letting them hold time after time. It's frustrating
Texas gave up yards in the running game but they were running clock behind by 42 points, and PK would take that all day. Texas actually outrushed UF and ran for about 200 yards. It’s not a traditional running attack, but Texas should not apologize for getting creative without a downhill runner in Baxter this season.
When Texas went for it on 4th and 1 the broadcast said they probably try draw them offside and I said to myself "wrong you don't watch enough Texas football"
I was watching knowing they were going to snap the ball, and I was yelling at the TV thinking it wasn't a smart call. Guess I was wrong, but if it didn't work that would've been a major question mark.
@@jesseullman505 The offense looked sluggish up until that play. It seemed to wake up the Texas team. I am sure Sark was not concerned with losing this game so he could take such an insane risk. Sark full well knew Florida was decimated with injuries and could not ever be a real threat.
The next three games will be difficult for our longhorns: -An Arkansas team that beat Tennessee in Fayetteville -A Kentucky team that beat Ole Miss playing away -A Texas A&M team that beat LSU in College Station
And as long as our offense plays somewhat at their best we should be okay. Defense has showed up every game and people complaining about the defense in second half after a 42-0 lead are tripping. Most of the was with 2nd then 2nd/3rd stringers in is ridiculous thinking. No reason at that point to potentially get major players hurt even major backups hurt to run up the score.
Also agree with the backfoot throws but some of quinns throws are still questionable. He puts way to much air under the ball sometimes instead of just throwing a laser when need be
Quinn is an almost extreme rhythm passer. If he can connect on short throws early then he can connect on the long bombs as the game goes on. The question is now if a team can disrupt that line OU or Georgia how will he respond? Hopefully Sark and Quinn can pull through!
23:40 Gerry it reminds me of Quentin Jammer. Jammer was so underrated all time in Texas history. No one threw at Jammer. Same way no one throws at MM also. Also when they mess up on a play they figure it out and move on to the next play. I’ve noticed it every game. One play breaks down and they communicate with each other to fix it. They play together as a defense like almost any other I’ve seen. It reminds of the defense Mack had in 2002-2003. It was the offense holding those teams back and the defense had playmakers all over the field. It’s different bc offense styles are different but not far off.
I agree with Gerry on the backfoot throws. He never is really stepping into the throws. His front foot is usually either in the air or facing away from receiver. Didn’t cause any issues throughout the game, but the mechanics seem off.
Quinn did the same in HS. Watched a video of him throwing TD after TD and big play after big play throwing off his back foot. He is just one of those players who is talented, throws off his back foot, and gets away with mechanics that aren’t perfect. When he’s healthy, he is very very good.
I'm concerned about the run/pass ratio early in the game. We were 5% run and 95% pass. A good defense will pin its ears back and sack QE repeatedly. It's coming.
16:40 Bobby the biggest push back I’ll have is people are still underestimating our defense. We face a few teams that QB run could’ve been a problem if we still had a bad defense. The biggest surprise and most consistent part of our team is our defense. We have almost everything you could want all around. Could certain aspect be better sure but overall it’s a top defense. All we need is the offense to show up and show a sense of progress every game. If the offense starts off in Arkansas like it did against Florida then we should go on a November run that we need to happen. If we play like we’re capable of and Arkansas does the same no way they beat us. Our defense is too good overall they’ve been proven to the country were one of the best. Even the media and other fans of other schools are starting to finally recognize it. They play so well as a team that it equally more then the sum of it parts

There’s a reason why Hutson is not the starter. He has trouble moving people and does not have the strength of Campbell. He is a very good pass blocker, but Campbell is still the better option. The stunt that caused the early sack was cleaned up after that. I saw UF run that stunt again a couple more times, and Campbell picked it up no issue.
@@johnpieratt1474 I’m hoping Campbell practices with a sense of urgency this week, knowing that he has been attacked with the same stunt in the last 2-3 games and fixes it from the moment the game starts. As I said, after the first time, he was perfect on the protection the rest of the day.
Texas is not a power team. Texas is a speed and finesse team. A speed and finesse team is dependent on quality play from the QB first and foremost. Quinn was still not healed from his oblique injury. He could not throw the ball deep and was worried about getting hurt. Also at his best Quinn is immobile. Georgia understood this and their defense smothered Quinn and the run and the short passing zones. Georgia Defense was well schooled on Texas plays and since Quinn was unable to deal with the pressure they applied. Even healthy Quinn will have trouble with strong aggressive defenses. All the other top teams (except Georgia) have a mobile QB. Quinn is a sitting duck anytime the pocket is not clean. Fortunately only the best defenses can smother the Texas offense like Georgia did. So far Georgia is the only team we have played with that kind of defense. Ole Miss and Tenn both have great defenses. Ole Miss did the same thing to Georgia that Georgia did to Texas. Ole Miss put massive pressure on Beck and Beck is not that mobile. Because Dart is very mobile and can throw the ball deep, Georgia could not pressure him like they did Texas. When they tried Dart made them pay. Dart is a very good QB and can handle pressure. Gabriel, Milroe, Dart and Ward are all outstanding QBs that can handle pressure. Quinn is a level lower than them because he cannot handle pressure.
