i love the idea of doing more rare or unique flowers. While beautiful, i get tired of the same old roses, peonies, poppies and sunflowers that everyone does.

Lovely flower. Reminds me of magnolias a bit, so I was unsurprised to hear it's native to Georgia. And suddenly I want to watch Steel Magnolias for the eleventy billionth time.
Also, I don't know why some people want to discard flat brushes into just the "wash brush" category. You can do SO much. I once painted a view of Mt. Vesuvius from within the ruins of Pompeii almost exclusively with a 1/2" flat brush. I did switch to a #4 round for some details on the columns and brickwork and some of the greenery on the flanks of the volcano, but I'd say a good 90% was done with the flat. Super versatile brush.

I have a question…lately I have been bombarded with ads for the Lucy (tracer?) telling me how it will improve my drawing technique. I would like to know what you think about it. Thank you for the beautiful painting, I don’t know if you have done a hydrangea, Ian trying but it always comes out looking flat, like a squashed bunch of little flowers.😂

Question: how to paint the little "Bread & Butter" daffodils now blooming in my yard. They are much smaller than the regular yellow daffodil. My problem is that their petals are a VERY Pale Yellow White. Close to "cream" but with a bit/hint of yellow. I got stumped last night, trying to paint them. Do you have any recommendations?
