Strange questions. Darnold is on a one year deal so the "bust" label would be WAY too early. Also why do people keep trying to put KAM and KOC on the hot seat? They've had two seasons...TWO! It's taken three offseasons just to get rid of the old regime. 2025 will be the first offseason without any contracts, cap hits, and dead money from the previous regime. People really need to stop falling into the "instant results or you're fired" trap. KAM and KOC have obviously shown that it takes a solid 3 years just to erase a previous regime and FINALLY begin to build something they can call their own. How about we quit calling for their heads and let them actually build something.
I want Darnold to be good enough that we can trade him for some decent draft picks, but not so good, we get a significantly lower 1st round draft pick. We need more picks and being on the upper half of the draft is better than the lower half. He can be a bridge for picks, too. Besides, if he is too good It could make the front office do something stupid, like they did with Brad Johnson back in day. I have a lot of faith in JJ and Sam is, in my opinion, is just not the guy, even if he did play for the Jets.
The MSM thinks we will win 4-5 games this season so I guess anything above that is a win. 🤷
